Oh interesting! So basically you can do it whenever you want to make a new character (and works best with your most complete save file) and it'll just give you extra money to start with? There's no other differences? Does it let you change the character appearance or does it duplicate all the original settings?
Does anyone know how can I tell what element a weapon is? Or do all newly crafted weapons have no element and I have to add it somehow? I checked the wiki and found most bosses have some elemental weaknesses, and I'd like to know how to deal that type of damage, other than using the elemental crossbow bolts.
Specific weapons have specific elemental or other attributes. Some weapons have none. The starting weapons need to be upgraded before you choose a path for what weapon you want.
I'm so glad you mentioned these. First, I purchased Mines of Mars when I got a gift card a while ago and never got around to playing it. So thanks for the reminder! And Invader Hunter sounds awesome, but I couldn't find it in the App Store. But I am on my phone, so if it's iPad only I couldn't see it. But it's amazing no one has nailed a 2D 16/32-bit looking MH title yet. Seems like a perfect opportunity for the right developer to come along and make a few dollars!
I'm just worried about being overwhelmed by the number of items to use as weapons defence etc how do you guys manage so many items? Kindly let me know
That doesn't really answer my question. I was asking how to check what element it is, and how to enchant stuff with an element?
Just look at the info of any weapon (highlight it and hit the info button) and it will list its raw damage as well as how much element damage (if it has any) that it deals. You don't enchant weapons with elements. Elements are built into the weapons, depending on what monster parts you use to craft/upgrade them. After you upgrade a starter weapon a couple of times, you'll have different options for the next upgrades which will take you down a path of building that weapon to deal a specific element. You'll inevitably craft multiple weapons of your preferred types to handle different monsters. Right now I have long swords in the raw and cold damage variety, and sword and shield sets for fire, poison, and paralyze. If it sounds complicated, don't worry. It'll make more sense once you upgrade your current weapons and see what I'm talking about. Just remember that this game is not an rpg in the sense of leveling up and enchanting gear, but it's more of a salvage, collect, and craft type of rpg.
Wow... Didnt even realize it's been pulled. If it's any consolation, the devs have a sequel in the works.
Just realised you're from the BH:L thread! Hi! In case you haven't realised, (it's easy to do considering how much you have to discover on your own) you can store items and equipment in your storage box in your house. There are other storage boxes around, but you can only access items, not equipment (ie chestplate, swords etc). I'm assuming you are a blademaster, so the only real items you will NEED are health potions (blue mushroom + herb) (potion + honey for mega potion!) and whetstones (sharpen your weapon. When you attack stuff your sharpness decreases and deals less damage. You could also bounce off the monster if your weapon isn't sharo enough). Basically any other item is OPTIONAL a, as they serve to make the hunt easier. At your level the rations in the blue boxes should be enough, but later on you should bring well done steak to fill your stamina up. Paintballs are very useful for flying monsters, as you can see which area they go to. You don't have to paint things like a Giadrome because you can clearly see where it went. Bombs and traps take skill to use, as you have to know exactly what the monster is doing and what it will do within ~10 seconds. Flashbombs are useful, but not necessary. I would advise saving them for multiplayer, as their use is much greater (as all of you can wail on the monster at the same time). Sonic bombs should be used for sand sharks (if you don't know what I mean, you soon will *evil laugh*) to make them jump out, and is very useful while hunting Plesioth (don't be afraid to ask for tips against him. He is very difficult and we have all been there.) Make sure to utilise the farm to get basic materials! And don't worry if you're dying or getting hit a lot- skill comes only with practice and determination!
Does anyone here have tips for 8-star quest from the elder cat? I am still stuck for some months, and I'm almost giving up a hunter life...
Yeah in battle there aren't too many items you'll need to use. The game has a learn at your own pace thing so you'll slowly find more and more items. It doesn't just toss them all at you (a lot can't even be found early on). When you get home you can experiment mixing ingredients and see what comes out but when you start the game you won't have that many things so I wouldn't be too worried. Duivs already pointed out the main needs when you head to battle. Early on that should be enough for you
Actually early on you dont really need any of the crafting since the starting chest will always have the necessary items for free.
That is the problem. I cannot play multiplayer because it lags a lot. Oh well, I'll just try multiplayer now...
Anyone with tips on meleeing Diablos? I'm trying to earn my Barrage Piercing on the training part and I can't seem to find any openings especially with the dual swords. IIRC, his weakness is his tail but the duals can't seem to reach it. I can't even get him into rage mode lol
With weapons that cant hit Diablos/Monoblos tail, go for the legs. When he falls over, hit the tail. Like Tigrex, generally run towards your right when encircling him, especially when he's in rage mode. Make good use of the sonic bombs. Right when his tail disappears when he burrows, throw a sonic bomb to stun him which gives you a huge attack window to demonize. Take note he is immune to the sonic bomb stun when he is in rage mode. I forgot when (i dont use flashbombs anymore) but when he is flashed, he sticks to his taunts only which gives you a huge opening to demonize on the legs to trip him for some free hits on the tail.
