Off topic, i just beat the gore magala in MH4U demo in advanced mode~ he's freakin' easy!!! Compared to MHFU monsters, his attack is 'meh'.. But he's just so cool!! Loved how we can "mount" the monsters..
Yeah... All i hear from Veterans of the MHFU and MHP3 is how the series became easier in each title after MHP3, in every platform. Still, lots of good stuff going on in the newer ones.
Just took down the training Yian Garuga with the lance finally! Now tigrex. Just beat him with the bow but I keep on failing with the melee weapons. I can't seem to find any openings need more practice lol
Hi anyone running this game MHFU on an iPhone 5s with the latest ios 8.1.3? Kindly let me know how is the performance on this device/software
Since you dont have access to Evade+ skills in training, you'll have to block a lot. You'll have to make use of tigrex's double turns to deal damage safely. If you can count the number of times you hit with your weapon til he flinches, you can use that to deal additional damage as well. If you can stay in front of Tigrex's left forearm (your right), and force him to use his spin attacks, you can just hop back to avoid getting hit, and get a few hits to his head when he recovers from that attack. Grats on taking down Garuga! EDIT: just checked and found out you have Guard+1 in Lance training vs Tigrex so that should help a lot in blockng Tigrex's attacks. EDIT2: Just did the training mission and Tigrex is surprisingly easy when abusing Guard+1. Didnt get hit once. I dont remember him being a pushover with a Guard+1 setup with lance. As usual just dont get greedy with attacks. Make use of the trap to deal about 4 to 5 upstabs to his head. Im actually just doing single stabs to his face when he double turns which kept me safe the whole fight.
Cool! Thanks for the tips EP. I'll try to take him down again later. It runs flawlessly on the 5S (tested it on my wife's 5S last weekend)
To be honest, im actually kinda fumbling around when using the Madcatz Micro on MHFU. My muscle memory is too psp-oriented im fumbling a lot with the controls. LOL.
You're given some pretty OP gear in the MH4U demo, can be lazy and take hits all day without getting below half health. The felyne companions seem to be maxed out too and constantly give you large HP restoration and infinite stamina. For me the big change between MHFU and the more recent MH games was making the hitboxes more closely match the actual shape of the monster. In FU you'd be constantly getting bumped around by invisible boxes when to the eye you were clear of the monster - this is probably why it seems easier. That said, Magala is a bit of a sook in terms of its attacks - it's just the juvenile version though.
Did they nerf him? Or you're just incredibly good at this game Seriously, I think I mentioned a while back but at PAX, everyday only 1-2 people beat him out of EVERYONE at PAX. No joke. And you got hardcore MH fans in line with their whole teams ready to fight the gore and they'd die. Though there were some time limit restrictions and stat boost for multiplayer on him so that's partially the issue - killing him really fast and not dying. Btw, I'm still upset that my team was the last group to play for the entire convention and we were missing one person so we got permission to have the official attendant who has beaten the Gore many times (and is a horn user!) to join us. Then some cute Asian girl comes by and begs my friends to let us join. I refuse only because I've fought the Gore multiple times and wanted to finally beat him. And this girl had a boyfriend and was using her feminine charms to get my friends to say yes... Needless to say, we lost. They felt bad for us and let us try twice. Same result. Damn it.
I play in single player experienced mode though.... Don't know if they nerfed him or not, but his moves are not that hard to read, and he's easy to mount...
Sat down to play a little on my lunch, but I only had about 10 minutes and instead played MH Dynamic Hunting. What I'd really like for quick plays when I can't go on a 30 quest is a 2D platformer with pixely MH looks and gathering. Anyone have any suggestions or know someone at Capcom to make this happen?
Look up monster hunter explore. That's what they are focusing on for mobile games apparently. Japan only at the time though:/
Oh btw, does anyone know what the "import from iOS character" does when I start a new game? I'm afraid to touch it and ruin my 230+ hour save files..
That creates a new save file. It also converts some of the items into money. It caps to a low 99999z though, just enough to get you started with some initial equips and a few early crafted weapons. It wont affect your initial save that you import from, unless you overwrite it (not sure if you can though).
Oh, just looked it up. It's a 3D free-2-play version of MH. I mean, sure I'll probably download it if it comes here, but I'm still on the hunt for a 2D game that might look like Goblin Sword, but have MH elements or "story". Thanks, though, for point me to that! I definitely am jealous of all the 3DS owners right about now.
Tried Mines of Mars? You're basically gathering stuff through mining and fighting in the mines to get materials for improved stuff back in your surface base. One of the reasons i love Mines of Mars is that part, where it did strike me as similar to MH. Gameplay's pretty different though. Invader Hunter is a very MH-ish type of game but with guns instead, and a scifi twist. You fight monsters in 3D, defeat them to get their parts at random, and use the parts to create new weapons and armor sets in town, but the battles last significantly shorter. In the early stages, you can complete stages in 2 minutes or less, and later on it can go up to 10 to 15 minutes depending on your strategy. I really like Invader Hunter, and it's a premium title with no IAP.
