I think I need to try this soon. Never played a game in the series but have looked into it more than a few times.
Deepest game I've played in a while.. On any platform.. I was a MH virgin until I bought this and was instantly hooked..
Me too. Really wish the PS3 version made it to the US in English. So, for me, this is my only MH game. Can't wait til they make a battery that never dies.
Bought it for my new air 2. This is a really awesome port. Really enjoy it to replay this game. I'm doing a gunlance only game at the moment. Had a 100% save on my psp. This game is a masterpiece
Started on my iPad Mini 2 and I find it plays and looks great. Having a bit of trouble with the controls though just dicking around to finish elder quests using the sword and shield. Hope I improve or I may just end up shelling cash out for a controller. Figured I'd be able to get the hang pretty fast as a MH vet. Maybe I'll switch to a different weapon that may be more touch screen friendly not that I ever main the sword and shield I just was giving the game a quick go.
^ I used the SnS exclusively on a previous title, but I just can't get the hang of it on the iPad. The other weapons are more touch screen friendly/less complex/don't have a bijillion combos
So is this basically just Tera Online's BAM fights, except you solo them? Keep grinding to collect materials and craft better equipment? The equipment system is similar to Infinity Blade?
I don't know what you're talking about, but probably no. Say you start a quest to take down a boss monster; You need to take items that will help you (paintballs, traps, healing items etc), find the monster (there are about 9 large areas in each map), attack it while staying alive, track it if flees to another area, and finally kill or capture it. Along the way you can gather stuff (mining, bug catching, gathering, kill and carve other monsters). Affinity blades armor is a bit linear- each armor is generally better than the last. This is not the case in MH. The more advanced armor generally gives you better defence, but if you've played this game for a while you'll know that not even the strongest defence stands up to the high-end baddies. There are 5 armor slots (head, chest, arms, waist, legs), and each gives positive or negative points towards a skill. Once you reach a certain amount of points in that armor skill the skill is activated. Matching random armor will often grant you nothing, whereas wearing a complete set will grant you positive (and in some cases, negative) skills! Here's where it gets tricky: Each armor piece (and weapon) can have gem slots, which is set for each piece of equipment. These slots can be filled with gems that you craft (just like the armor/weapons, with stuff you find), which give a small number of points towards a skill. These gems can help you reach the threshold to activate a skill, or to cancel a negative skill! The possibilities are pretty much infinite If you want to see some gameplay just go onto YouTube Seriously though stop wasting time on this forum and buy it already.
Me too.Have to wait until i got my controller back, hopefully by the end of the week. Is this game more or less open world or more like a Bioware game with an overall map and you can (fast)visit different locations from there?
Basically, you take missions from quest providers and going outside of town will take you to the mission area. After completing the mission you go back to town automagically. That may sound simple, but each mission map is HUGE. It may be a good idea to check some videos to see how the game looks like.
Neither, really. You live in a village, which serves as the hub for everything else. You take quests that send you to other areas (which you basically fast travel to and from). But don't let that put you off, if it sounds like it's not open enough for you. It works well, and still feels like a living world, rather than a collection of stages.
There are about 5 massive locations, and about another 5 locations that are small, but where you face really hard 'elder dragons' (which aren't all actual dragons, like one is a giant crab, and you have to either kill or repel it before it destroys a fortress). Trust me, it's one of the most quality games you will ever play. However, it has some steep learning curves so be prepared to rage a bit.
Wouldnt count on anything like that. The original didnt even have built-in online capabilities, yet they added that in the port. The game's pretty much COMPLETE. It would be good if they do implement cloud saving, but i dont think it is something Capcom sees as a necessary addition.
My MP experiences is fine if it's less than four persons playing.. Jut reenter the room number from the room you created if you can't find the room...
After all these years, i still cant kill Akantor in less than 10 minutes with a Longsword. Im pretty sure im doing something wrong in maximizing damage output.
