Double tap? I dont remember Lao wielding a shotgun :D

If meleeing, stay under his belly and attack the bulge there. That's his weakpoint when meleeing. As long as you dont get greedy that your attacks cause you to get too close to his feet, you should be able to keep damaging him without getting hit. Except when he flinches and crushes you under his belly, but that deals miniscule damage.

Well I killed him in a group, and didnt realize the urgent wouldn't count for me unless I was the one picking it. Guess I have to fight him again!

The thing to keep in mind on fighting tigrex is to dodge to your right (tigrex's left) since his attacks will not hit you there.. Charge your GS behind him after he charges to you and stumbles, and wait for him to turn twice before releasing the charge, and after the attack connects, roll to your rigth immideately... Sheate your weapon whe he rages, and wait for him to calm down before attacking again.. That's the best strategy for beginners in figthing tigrex IMO...

Made this one a few back.

Take note of the timing in the unsheathed strikes to the head when Tigrex completes his turns, and the timing as to when im starting the GS charges. If you have the right amount of attack on your weapon, one full GS charge to the head should flinch it and you can roll and sheathe your weapon safely.

Take note of how much i roll towards his left (my right) where it's safer than the other side.

So, if I've never played a MH game is this a good place to start? Is there a pretty comprehensive tutorial to get me good and settled into the game?

    Heyo Richard,
I am in the same boat man. I have been told this is a highly recommended game. I am thinking of getting it, but the comprehensive tutorial would be sooooo niceah!

I am also wondering if the multiplayer is online or only wifi?

Yes, the training school offers that.

And the game doesn't support Bluetooth (if that's what you meant), just multiplayer over wifi.

Absolutely, I can say this already, I'm glad I finally took the plunge on this one, being in the village and just walking around, talking to random npc's feels good. I'm sure I'll be back here often for questions and comments :D

FYI you don't have to do all of the training missions if you feel you are ready- some of those training missions can be a bit boring

The again I've had experience with the series so I knew what to do already.

If you need tips/advice feel free to drop a line here :)

And once you're ready to start hunting with others over wifi, there's a bunch of people who love to help new hunters with gathering hall quests. Check out the MHFU Tavern thread or come live chat with some of us at mhios.chatango.com.

I just hope you've set aside an extra 200-400 hours of gameplay.

    ;)
