Oh lol that's really slow of me. I'm on my way home finally! Gonna sync up MHFU once i get there...in 7hours
246 hours. I beat Ukanlos a couple times but didn't even try Fatalis yet it's what I'll do next though. ---------edit--------- Scratch that I took down my first Fatalis today and here is the final blow Huge thanks to Exact-Psience for Black Fatalis GS guide
Anyone here ever tried the online training quests? It's just that I never saw anyone mentioning it in the forum.
Since 1 and 2 star guild hall quests are basically training quests, actual training quests aren't really worth mentioning. Also, why deliver 10 well done steaks when you can fight a big angry thing?
Which quests count as "group training quests"? I noticed the last page of my guild card has no records but I'm not sure what's supposed to be on there. I want to have at least one item on that page. Congrats Sherlock! You are one crazy hunter. I'm too afraid to do those solo..
At the training school (remember WAAAAAY back when you first learn to use shit?) you can do group training quests as well as solo quests
Hopefully someone can do a couple with me sometime. They're not easy. I just tried a low rank Rathian and go served. Got a bunch of cheap shots into me when the random monsters on the field kept hitting me (right before a charge or a poison swirl.. awesome). I feel like these are harder than even the guild hall because they force you to use their equipment and only a certain set of items. You can't "control" the battle which makes it really hard. Damn I just wasted 40 minutes because of that ridiculously weak sword they gave me...
"Here, take 2/5 pieces of an armor set and this weird ear piercing and go fight a big monster...what's that you say? Armor skills? That 'custom armor set' gives you the Whim skill so I don't know why you're complaining... Now we're on a tight budget so we can only give you about 3-4 potions, but don't worry, I'm sure there's some herbs and shit lying around. We'll only give you one trap, so don't mess that up or you fail, okay? Good. If you run like a giddy man to the blue crate-box-chest you might stand a chance of getting it before your retard friends do. Hehe. Lucky for you, we found this old sword and shield in the storage shed. This post-it note on the side of it says it's a 'Hunter's Dagger+', I haven't seen one of these babies since 2006! With this you can take out a giaprey in about 6 hits, heck, maybe even 5! Remember, since this is a training quest you're gonna have to give all your stuff back if you survive, but as a reward you'll get some leftover steak, some honey, and if you're really lucky we'll give you this fish we spray painted gold earlier! Why? We thought the fish would live and be all pretty and stuff but...yaknow...shit happens... But yeah, good luck and shit. If you're not back here in 50 minutes we can't guarantee your house will be your house anymore so chop chop! Go hunt me some big ass wyverns!"
^ LOL YOU. I don't know how long that took you to write but that was hilarious. You could be a salesman for ridiculously horrible items. That's pretty much how I feel. Like wtf am I wearing?? And why do I have a set of completely useless skills? And why is this fight so much harder than when I first fought them? IS IT BECAUSE OF ALL THE CRAPPY S**T THEY GAVE ME??? lol
What an end to my work week! After helping the guys on the AppSpy MHFU Twitch stream take down a few monsters, I was the one being helped last night by L.Lawliet on a couple quests. Including my first glimpse at a Tigrex. Now I'm rethinking life as a hunter! Haha. But seriously, if any of you need some help, try to meet up with him on the other thread. Some great hunting help! Thanks again, L.Lawliet. I'd be glad to help anyone too, but nothing too tough. I've still got a ways to go.
Well, I've almost got enough supplies to fashion a Tigrex weapon. Anyone use one of those at any point? Is it worth the investment or should I hold onto the supplies for armor eventually?
Hi, The only worth-it tigrex weapons by G rank are the tss (tigrex supreme sword) and the tigrex horn+ If you are low rank, I would still make the tigrex weapons JUST so you can easily upgrade them to narga weapons in high rank without needing brainstems. The armor sucks compared to most other sets (as its only useful skill is earplugs)
......... does it come in blue?...... @Curtis: Thanks for all the compliments! You were on a twitch stream? That's awesome. I'd love to be streamed playing MH (with non-elite hunters because I'm not that good). Helping people is my new joy in MH since my remaining marks are ridiculously strong. So it sounds like you've killed many Tigrexes since we last played if you're close to the weapon. Good job! You're better than the people online who start a quest they can't beat and just sit out the entire level and come out at the end.... I think the Tigrex sword is great early on (good raw damage). The armor is better imo. They're not bad at all. They all get overshadowed later but at this point it's probably the best you can get. I also disagree earplugs are the best skill. Fast eating is the best skill (unless you NEVER get hit - in G rank you can still survive 1-3 hits based on your armor). Fast eat is ALWAYS useful. Earplugs might save you a few times but monsters don't always roar. Fast eat is probably one of the best support skills in the game that isn't associated with combat skills. I think if yo consume an item it takes about 3-4 seconds? I believe fast eat takes only 1 second. In early games you'll die so much less with it. You can use a potion between Tigrex charges! Getting earplugs that are useful is nearly impossible early/mid game. I know because I tried to get them for the Tigrex set. Tigrex sword can upgrade to narga sword which is my favorite sword in the game. It'll be easier to make if you have the Tigrex sword
I don't think that earplugs is the "best skill" but there are definitely better options than tigrex. I would highly recommend using ceana garuga mix for low rank because of the RA, sharpness, and earplugs latent skills. While fast eating is useful in certain circumstances, I prefer skills that are nonsituational such as sharpness+1. Far too many times have I seen people online in FULL tigrex armor die because they ONLY have the skills of tigrex and no actual offensive skills. PLUS, they don't even gem out demonic protection, which is asking for instant death in G rank. edit: tiggy gs is good for low rank--upgrade to narga in high rank and it lasts till G.
let us have this debate at http://mhios.chatango.com/ we're trying to look for people who actually plays this game rather than hacking it through.
Uhh mishie? People don't die because they have the wrong skills, they die because they require actual skill. Just because you have AUL doesn't mean you'll beat something
but demonic protection really isn't a good idea >_<. Yes actual skill is required, but I'm just saying armor skills are indeed important. For example, today I was fighting Uka. A guy in full tiggy X is hammering. He's doing an amazing job... constantly hits the head. However, he double carts coz he gets one shot by the tail swing (demonic protection is not gemmed out on his armor). Now, considering he is using hammer (deep dark hammer) if I were him I would use sharpness, SSI, or AuL. Those would definitely be more useful than speed eating. Then, there are the cases where some may say "if you have actual skill, you don't need good armor skills to survive." While this may have some truth in it, I would not go around advertising using sets with no offense or defense skills to people asking for advice.
