http://mhios.chatango.com I made a group chat using chatango that works on iOS/Android/PC for those who are on the go or would like to communicate real-time. Use it as a gathering hall as it might be faster to see whose willing to play at the given time? Feel free to use it Been a big Monster Hunter player since the PSP versions and thought it'll be great to re immerse into MHFU with new and veteran players.
Man, I have like 20 hours in the game and I am still on the 1 Star HR 1 quests. Now I am trying to get the Cephadrome drops to make that armor. So should I bother doing farming at this level or should I just keep playing? Skill wise, at least on this level, I can kill the boss without dying unless I get unlucky with the small monsters roaming the map. Any tips for a fellow bow user? Like is there an armor or bow I should be using at this level? Currently have Hunters Bow I, Wild Bow I, and Blango Fur Bow II. Haven't tried Online mode yet but I do want to try it. I sometimes get a straight hour to play, but most times I play for a few minutes, pause, play for a few more minutes, pause and so on. At this point this is the only game I am playing. I have a few on my phone that are waiting to be finished/started but haven't touched em yet. OTTTD, Meltdown, Guardians Galaxy, PowerPuff Girls, Hitman Go, Epoch2, Warhammer Quest, ShadowBlade, Dream Quest, Waterdeep, Deep Loot, Xmen, Xcom: Sorry About that.
What's wrong with Gravios's hip check it hits before the hitting animation starts when you're between his legs or are my eyes tricking me.
I love this game, but hip checks are all kinds of messed up, and that goes for Plesioth, 'Blos, Gravios...all of them. Seems you could be 10 feet away in the other direction, and the magical hip check would still get you. What I try to do is figure out which direction the monster does the hip check from (usually only from one side), and try to stay on the opposite side so you don't trigger the hip check in the first place. Consider getting rid of the cat as well - if the cat triggers the check from the wrong side, you could get hit as well. Mike
I can dodge hip checks unless it's Plesioth but I dint realize how weird Gravios's hip check was before.
lol Plesioth's hip check is so ridiculous I hate that guy. He's like "MAH BAHD BRAH I DIDN'T SEE YA THERE LOLZ!!!"
It took me some time before deciding on farming any monster. I'd suggest you keep going until you find an armor that looks good for you: I do not know how many armor sets everyone had but I had like 4 different in low ranks until I decided on one. Sorry can't help. Take Lawliet's offer to play online: it's a little strange at first and you have to overcome the fact that communication is restrained. But online questing is really fun (takes 80% of my play time now). Yeah, I get what you mean. MHFU really helped me cut on my expenses.
I wish that's the case for me, but MHFU is now my go-to game inbetween all the "serious" gaming sessions, so I'm still spending dineros on other games. No time to hop on the PS4 for an hour? One more Rathian kill for that damned ruby! Mike
Was finally able to get the game since I upgraded my device Having some trouble with the controls though, attacks feel really weird. Started with the longsword and doing the main combo feels really awkward and unreliable, yet I'm not having trouble doing the backstep swing. Do you need to hold the attack button and shift it up and down to combo, or press the button for each attack and slide it up for the stab attacks?
Basically you have to make a single complete swipe starting from the button to the direction of the action you want to perform.
Basically, get one type of bow for every element, it helps a lot in bringing down the big boys. Learn to dodge as we're kinda squishy lol and don't get greedy with hits.
Bows are especially useful in multiplayer because if you have another player that's melee, they'll take about 75% (guesstimate) of the aggro. The monsters generally attack the people closest to them most of the time.
Ok, I'll work with it some more. Only had the time to do 1 fight when I got it. Does seem like a weird way to set up the controls, but I guess the screen's just too small.
If you played the original MH titles on the playstation 2, this is how it was setup, using the second analog.
@Lawliet Dude you got the 6 right? How is MHFU? Is it smoother? Have you tried Bioshock on it? My contract ends this year but I'm planning on getting the 6S next year but well i might just get the 6. Just might lol. I wanna make sure the spec bump is worth it. Plus i just sold my macbook air so I'm literally PC-free (except for my wife's Mac mini which i use to backup my phone locally) and i need a capacity bump ie. at least 64gb from 32gb for my documents.
So i just updated to ios 8.02 hoping the controller would work but no luck still really unresponsive,it runs fine with touchscreen but dont think its as smooth as it was maybe its just me.......anyway really enjoying this game 228 hours spent on it so far, cant believe this is my first monster hunter experience (how did i miss this game on ps2) and gonna try and play portable 3rd hd in japanese
@ed: yup! I really really like the 6. It's near perfect for me. The size feels great. Not keen on the plus since it's not easy to hold. As for performance pretty much every game will run smooth. MHFU i actually don't see a difference only because it ran perfectly smooth on my ipod touch already. So no problems. It does look great with a bigger screen (it even looked good on the ipad so that's to be expected). Sorry i never bought Bioshock mobile so i can't comment on that. However Infinity Blade 3 pretty much loads in 3 seconds. You see the logo then the game starts up
Finally finished the Monoblos (white and regular) Felyn Elder Urgent quest... Them mofos hit hard as hell, quick in rage mode and their armor is a pain to try and find a soft spot.
