That just makes me want to give up my hunting horn and start upgrading my Longsword. I guess you could say I have sword envy.
Awww, sorry, man - I really misunderstood you. Haven't noticed the "C." and got your question wring this way.
Well I think there are only a few LS that look like Greatswords. However I like how all the long swords look. I only hate the katana look because that thing basically looks the same after about 4-5 upgrades or so and it feels like you're using the starting weapon for 100 hours. I thought it was cool at first but now it's about as bland as the bone katana.
Ok. Finally bought the game after following and reading here for awhile and in preparation for the 6+. Beat all the bosses on Dynamic Hunting in preparation. Now I just have to finish the Tutorial levels. And learn how to play.
Tell us what you think after you get a few hours into it. For newcomers it usually takes a few hours before you actually start enjoying the game. It's pretty rough / annoying at the beginning. I never played Dynamic Hunting. I wonder if it's similar..
Ok one last quest from nekoht's the monster hunter quest, I think I need g rank armor coz rathalos hit hard I can only reach nargacuga after 2 minutes I'm dead it seems like I'm fighting them for the first time. Can't defeat one horned diablos 6* to get to g rank.
It's a lot easier if you can find people to help you online. That's how I advanced ranks. Making friends is good
G rank equip helps a lot with that quest (they're basically g rank monsters), and even then, it might be a bit tricky not to run out of time depending on the weapon you're using.
Finished tutorial levels and am finishing reading those hunter journals and thought it would share some thoughts if no one minds. First, holy crap does this game look good! I have seen the screenshots and some videos, but damn, justice was not done and I was not prepared. Game looks so amazing and smooth. Plus with all that it runs great and loads fast on my 4S. Which surprised me since a lot of newer games don't. Still getting used to movement. Character has weight so no turning on dime. My aim has been while adjusting. I either start a swing in the wrong direction or when I move I mis time the attack. Also like and need to get used to weapon hit distance. All the combining and farming and items are a little overwhelming also. But figure I will learn to kill monsters first and the rest should come. Weapons: my timing with the hammer and conch are way off. Slow attack throws me way off. Even GS is off though did better with it. Don't like speed of Duals yet cause my movement sucks. Lance and Gunlance were alright. Liked long sword. Liked range weapons. But again my main stumbling block is movement. Working on walking, running, and dodging/hopping especially. With all that I am thinking of sticking with bow (which I have read is crazy for beginner). I have always been fond of rangers in fantasy settings. Hopefully this wasn't too off topic. Thanks to all the regular posters here also. You're exploits/advice in the thread have been inspiring. As for Dynamic Hunting it's more Infinity Blade than Monster Hunter.
There are several monsterhunter groups on facebook.. Join them, the people there will help you rank up quick
Thanks for your impressions roninld! Sounds like you're slowly getting the hang of it. Basically at least early on you should stick with one weapon and focus on learning it until you get better. Using a ranged weapon isn't too bad as long as you get used to it. I'm glad all the weapons aren't super easy to use or else there'd be no challenge in hunting. Hows does this compare to Dynamic Hunting for you? With now over 200 hours in, this is definitely my favorite iOS game ever.
