Plesioth is a huge pain in the butt to fight - that hip-check is just ridiculous. Try not to stand on his right-side, and roll with him as he turns to stay on that side - if you remain to his left, you wouldn't trigger a hip-check. Once he starts to hip-check, though, everything within a huge radius gets hit (even if you're not on that side). Might consider not bringing your cat as well, who may end up on the wrong side and triggers a hip-check.

Ah okay. I thought I would have had to hit just his fin. Thanks for the info!

That's a great tip Mike! Will try that later!

Nope. Since I am German, I didn't know that saying or cheer. I was simply confused after my brain did a direct translation of that. :D
In the way Germans speak, it would be an order to hunt down horn users.
I just crashed top-speed into a personal language barrier.

Yeah, I hid mostly behind that big rock in the middle of the area (or on the upper ledge in the cave) and when he came out and did his belly slide, I ran over and hit him on the head like crazy, just to run and hide again. I made the mistake to bring not enough bombs. But as LS user, you can also try to stay exactly between his legs for a while. It's hard for him to hit you there but you can poke a sharp thing into his belly for a while. With LS charged, I also attacked a leg with the charge combo to make him fall. I hated his sidewards body check and also the lash with the tail. Makes you fly forever.

    Thanks mate! :)

Yeah that hip check hitbox is so broken...unbelievable...:D At the end I ran out of potions and my energy was pretty low so I laid out my shock trap and led him there. After that I striked the hell out of him with my charged attacks...:D

Thanks a lot and +1 for that!

It's a known issue, if you have the previous .ipa you could backup your save and reinstall the working version, until they fix it ;)

If it gives you a hard time try getting a bowgun with thunder or fire shots, you'd be surprised to see how easy it is with that.

    Guess what? Classified.
    Classified.
I find it funny that 90% of the 'stuck' players are either having trouble with khezu, plesioth or tigrex.

It's natural to struggle a bit when confronted with something new (1HKOs, unfair fights and agile ninja beasts respectively for above monsters :p), so don't give up :)

Literally LOLd here! Don't worry, he's a bit more aggresive and stays on land most of the time. At least in my experience

Thanks bro. I'm far from giving up but that quote "agile ninja beasts" soooo describes Tigrex for me!

As usual, run circles around him for a while and observe his movement patterns. After a while you'll start to get a feel for when it's safe to move in, and when to stay the hell away. Also, if his arm/face turns red, stay away - he moves much faster and hits harder when in rage. Wait until he calms down and then go back in.

Ah ok...I think patience is my problem. When he is in rage and even when I try and run away I still get hit once. Once he knocks me down and he's in rage he usually hits me multiple times before I have a chance to stand recover and run away.

Last battle I damaged him enough to cut off his tail and after some more hits he retreated and feel asleep....too bad I had no traps to capture him.

I still haven't done the quest solo, but have now tried multiple time online with others. I'd avise you to bring as many flash bombs and traps as possible. Setting the pitfall trap will be disabled unless the Tigrex is in area 5 where it sleeps, so you know what to do with it.

I've been farming for an armor set to take the Tigrex on, it's been more than a week now (including online quests where I don't choose :p). I've read people use the Ceanataur set, but I am trying the Yian Garuga set instead. What equips do you use? what weapon? take the best you can get.
