You're experience was a favorable RNG, but that doesnt make your experience a fact.

Sonic Bombs have no influence in dropping ears. It is a fixed percentage at which you can gain ears whenever you break them, regardless if you sonic'd or not.

The shiny drop drops only once for each Kut Ku. If you missed your chance at picking it up and it disappears, kut ku wont drop any more shinies.

Using Fire weapons against kut ku doesnt influence him dropping his ears as well. If you want to beat the odds of getting one, breaking the ears, killing kut ku as fast as possible, and redoing quest is the best way still. That means, getting a weapon that you can manage to kill it fastest with (high raw for hammers and GS or even LS, and water element for the faster weapons).

The piggy does not affect drops. This has been a myth, or as you said a rumor online, created by the elites, to make fun of others. MH has a lot of tiny details that have been added, but sometimes they are just cosmetic. It is like changing your under-clothing or your hair/hair color, or similarly to how you cat is colored.

Tis also the same as Lao Shan's tail. You can never cut it, no matter what rumors you may have read.

If someone can create the drop percentages guide, dont you think they'd have a way to determine if petting the pig has any influences in the RNG?

Sorry, but I can only speak based on my experience with the Kut-Ku. And These sonic bombs just worked once for me, even when exploding directly in front of Kut-Ku's ears. But as I stated, since all other web pages say different, I could be wrong and just had tons of bad luck. But true, it surprises me.

What you say is true. Still I feel lots more lucky when it comes to cuddle the pig. Maybe it's belief what makes the difference. Even if it's just pure luck, I am happy with it, as long as it works... ;)

About fire weapons / Kut-Ku, I cleared that already. I wanted to say "Kut-Ku is fire wyvern, so ice is the main weakness when you go for his head" (not fire). When you go smashing the Kut-Ku wings, then water. But ice is most appropriate for his head.

But: cool, and thanks, definately learned sth new today.

Btw., EP, can you explain how the cat skills of those working in your kitchen connect to you? Do you gain those skills after eating the food they cooked for you, for a certain amount of time? Or does it apply to them when changing job? That's one thing I never looked really into.

I hate hermiatur. I was killed by a Hermiatur while I was fighting C. Blangonga while I was trying to retreat to heal. I died and went back then Blangonga's arm hit me while was turning then a Hermiatur came and hit me I got dizzy right in front of Blangonga. You can imagine the rest.. Sometimes npc's get too upsetting.

I really hate those adds, especially those Hermitaurs since they're kinda relentless, always charging into you. And the black felynes too, Melnyx i think. Lost to Narga and other monsters because of them AND they steal your stuff too like my last potion or something

I always give those cats a whack first. And I kill all those small crabs and bugs before going for the boss.

For these situations, a brawler cat which only targets smaller enemies is really helpful. Or a peace loving cat with a very high defense which draws the attention of the monsters on her.

I always ALWAYS kill the mob before going for the boss: it is real frustrating when a bullfango/conga charge puts you in the way of the boss.
Plus, the boss might actually help in killing the smaller monsters ;)

@Vovin: If the cat skill activates then it lasts for one quest. The star level increases its odds of activating, provided you select the type of food on that list.

To clarify: one quest, or until the first time you get KO'd in that quest. If the Felyne Bonus Skill was activated, then it persists until the end of quest.

MHFU version has different monsters, also I'd say it's more challenging. In MH3U the game is a bit more forgiving especially the attacks of mini mobs. Also there are some slight interface changes and variations in weapon attacks you will miss. (Eg: saved armour sets don't recall gems settings, long sword charge final attack non existent, no counter on lance, none of bash moves....)

The graphics I'd say are better than on 3ds due to the higher resolution. It's almost on par with wiiU version. Finding players online is easy enough...
The caliber of randoms varies though....

Finally reached the 9* village urgent quest and maaaan I'm stuck! The Akantor is really tough! Even with evade distance up, dodging his charge is still reaally hard

You have to be close to akantor... Just a roll away from his head, but in front of either leg. I guess you already know you shouldnt stay in front of him too long. :D

You biggest openings are his turnings, as he's too slow there. If possible, go to his sides when he attacks, as you can use pierce shots from arm to arm. When he;s turning towards you , you should be able to sneak in a pierce (head through body/arm) or rapid shots before you need to move away.

He hits really, really hard, but he's pretty slow.

After hunting for brown blangonga tails for 3 days I realized that item doesn't exist in this game. It's Leather C Blangonga tail which I get at least one every fight and I wasted 3 days thanks to Monster Hunter Wiki's Magnitude page and my idiocy.

:( I actually checked after reading your initial message and thought that either the wikia page was wrong or the name that you provided for the item referred to something else.

Well yeah, C Blangonga is Copper blangonga, and Leather denotes a g-ranked item. Since there are no low and high rank blangonga, i thought you knew what you were talking about :D

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one. I solo'd 25 of the guild HR2 Rathians trying to get a spike before realizing it doesn't drop there. Finally moved on, fought the elder version later on and it dropped in the second fight.

I still think it's good practice and I got enough Blangonga mats to make both best raw Ls and best hammer.
