Is anyone having difficulty playing multiplayer? I've been getting connection errors since Thursday. I'm on the latest update but not sure if that has anything to do with multiplayer errors. I was able to play multiplayer after updating.
So to those of you that have played MH3U how do you compare these two games? I've been playing a lot of MH3U on my 3DS but it doesn't have online multiplayer which really sucks for this type of game. How is the online experience on this one? Is it fairly easy to find people to play with? I already bought this game and have it installed on my iphone but I haven't really played it yet since I've been playing my 3DS.
i think it's still kinda hit or miss. Although overall, it's easier to connect online and find rooms compared to before the update
Never use sonic bombs if you want to farm Kut-Ku ears! The ears are very sensitive to sounds and there is a high chance that the sonic bombs destroy the ears completely. When he's weakend he lowers his ears, making it impossible to break them. The ears are destroyed when they are no longer visible. So you have to break them as fast as possible. Since Kut-Ku is a fire wyvern, use a fire weapon to break them. But you have to break the Kut-Ku's face entirely. If you havent been doing that then you're maybe not going to get a Kut-Ku ear. I always use pit traps (bring one and materials to craft a second one) and flash bombs. Flash when he's not in rage and then go for the face / ears, you have a lot of time when he's flashed. Set up the pit traps when he's finally back into his cave and go straight for his head when the Kut-Ku fell in. This way, I mostly get an ear as drop and a second one in the quest reward. Oh, and don't forget to pet your pig before farming for Kut-Ku ears. It gives you small higher (small heart) or medium higher (big heart) chance for rare materials in the rewards.
About that pig, I've heard different things online. Most people say it doesn't do anything while some said the creator even quoted saying they do nothing and it's just for cooking. I'm not too sure :\
You do get one chance per battle using a sonic bomb at a shiny drop being an ear though. Yea I don't know anything about the pig either. He's always next to the peddler and runs away if I "pet" it. How do some people have him in their homes?
http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Poogie Basically you play a minigame such as the BBQ one when petting Poogie. If you stop at the right time, you might get a heart which size varies. If you get a heart, Poogie will start following you.
Actually I've never tried but once he's in the house, will he leave when you get a bad hit? I'm always worried he'll run off so I never touch him after I got him inside. Is he permanently in your house once you succeed outside?
Seriously not trolling. What are you refering to (in my post)? I made the experience that sonic bombs never gave me ears when launched while his ears are still intact (I also read the same on a German MH page). I only got an ear per sonic bomb one time when I already destroyed the ears via swords (and then never again). At all other times with sonic bombs, the ears broke but no drop. Flashing him with bombs and or luring Kut-Ku into a pit trap, then wasting his entire face with an ice LS gave me the best results so far. Got nearly nothing by using the Eager Cleaver. All over the Internet there's also a rumour that Poogie raises you luck chance (depending on the size of the heart). Capcom never officially commented this, yet I believe you raise your chance of finding rare items in a reward. Since I have the pig in my home and pet it regulary, I am under the impression that I've found much better stuff, for example when farming Hermitaurs, Ceanataurs and Monoblos/Basarios. Dunno if the rewards were better when fighting greater wyverns, I didn't farm them as much yet. Sure, this can be coincidence or just wrong belief, but I doubt it. There must be a reason for the small/big hearts you can achieve.
Well maybe about this part? Sorry I can only conjecture... http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Yian_Kut-Ku_Carves http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/34678/t1051314-how-to-get-kut-ku-ears/ From what I have read you need to aim properly at the head until the ears appear broken and capture the Kut ku to improve your chance. Also get the shiny drop by using a sonic bomb... or not according to Vovin.
Yeah, he's in your house, you can also dress him in various clothes. it's funny. When you pet him first time, wait for the exclamation mark after the last note, then quickly press the button (like you do when roasting meat). After that, Poogie will stay in your house. If you pet him in your house and score a heart, he'll follow you around the main village. After a quest, you'll find Poogie in your house again.
Yeah, just checked other pages about Kut-Ku and all say sonic bombs work. So it's absolutely strange that this doesn't work for me, no matter how often I try. I'll try later to throw some bombs at his ears when not in rage mode and check again. But until now, sonic bombs never did any good. He just stand upright for a while and after that went into rage. No shiny drops. Or I just didn't notice back then. Is there maybe a difference in the quest ranks? Like "doesn't give ears on 2-star missions but gives ears on 3/4-star missions" or sth like that? I get the best results, as I said, with a flash bomb, then 2 normal LS combos followed by one (or two) charged combo(s).
Thanks for the advice...but why should one use a fire weapon against a fire-wyvern? I assumed that it's easier to break his parts if I used an ice-weapon...because that's his weakness isn't it?
Tears n Ears.... Lowest ranked kut ku missions with sonic bombs. First try. Then never again. Congrats rng
Managed to break his ears but still no luck...damn those ears are hard to get...=/ Also I tried to flash him with Flash Bombs but he shows absolutely no reaction...does he have to look straight into the flash?
Yes. Stand a little away from him. Throw the Flash bomb exatly in front of him as soon as he turns to face you. You'll notice little stars around his head when done right. That shows that he is blinded.
http://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunter/comments/15lhdt/petting_the_pig_does_it_do_anything_mhfu I really dunno. Only Capcom knows, I guess.
