Hammers are generally better, except maybe rajang and the fatalis trio, but it still does exceptionally well just because it deals so much damage, especially since it has the ability to KO monsters. Main tactic is using unsheathed strikes, and doing unsheathed charges on huge openings. Dont limit yourself to level 3 charges alone, coz that could mean getting bawled over on wrong timings. Since you are limited to single hits, it is optimal to hit weakpoints. Master running, then switch facing and immediately unsheathe/charge, coz rolling forward has a shorter recovery, and has a slightly farther distance covered compared to rolling sideways. You'd always want to roll to safe spots after hitting weak points. One example is when tigrex does the double snap (or double bite), you basically have to run to your right (his left), and start charging (of course when you are confident his right leg wont hit you when he does the double snap) facing a little backwards right when he does the first snap. That should perfectly time the lv3 charge on his face after he completes the double snap and does the double turn (since he should doublesnap forward past you). This requires strict timing, so changing direction right away and starting your attack/charge is a good skill to master. If you have access to Unsheathed Crit skills, you total damage output is increased by 20% which is huge.
Hahaha! Happens to all of us It could be a tail stuck within a wall, a monster dying in the water or the lava, or even a tail on top of ledges you dont have access to.
Nah... If there are, that's not on any PSP versions, MHFU included. My MH experience is limited to the PS2 and PSP versions.
As Duivs mentioned, throw a sonic bomb when the blos completes his burrow, while he isnt in rage mode. Should give you time for 2 Lv3 charges, or at least a lv3 charge, an upswing/sideslash, before you roll towards the blos back area (time it to avoid the wind effect), and you have time for another GS charge, this time on his weakpoint, the tail.
Boils down to playstyle, but i would have to hand it to hammers when it comes to ease of use. Upswing is terrible in multiplayer LOL. For overall usefulness, GS is better than hammer, having the ability to block, and cut tails. Hammers just kill faster usually.
Thanks EP, and as for armor and weapon to craft? Maybe I should stick with hammer/longsword combo- choosing between a slow, heavy damage dealer or a fast cutting weapon is pretty good I guess. What's the advantage of great swords over long swords besides blocking and superior damage?
Hammers are "supposedly" the best weapon and the "noob" weapons as suggested by the "elites" all over the internet *shrug* It's whatever. You pick the weapon you like and the weapon you can win with. Not everyone is going to like every weapon. Even I don't like the hammer after a couple uses (but maybe I'd need to play with it for a few hours). @Duivs: I think blocking and damage/charge are the main highlights of the GS over the LS. LS is superior in the other opposite aspects.
Yeah ok I'm going to just stick with hammers and long swords. That way I can kill stuff, and also cut tails. No block though :/ If you block the same attack with a GS, SnS or lance, does one block more of the damage or anything like that?
Damn I'm missing two Kut Ku Ears for the complete set... Killed him about a dozen times now and can't get one single ear...-.- Used a lot of Sonic Bombs to get a shiny drop but no luck. Can his ears be broken with a LS? Or are only GS and Hammers capable of that?
I beat it with the same armor and skills, but the true Devil Slicer instead. Basically, paintball both blos when you see them. When you enrage one, leave immediately and go find the other. They kill you extremely fast in rage mode, so I've found it much easier just to switch targets at that point. And if they end up in the same area, get the hell out of there.
Somehow I don't get how to do that...do you "simply" attack his head? If I stun him with a Sonic Bomb he keeps his head up all the time so no chance for some free hits there...
Agreed. I'm probably 15:1. I'm HR2 and on Nekoht's 8* quests. Online is fun when it works, but it rarely works well. And as soon as you get a good game going, all it takes is one bad player in your party to get himself killed 3 times to end the hunt for everyone.
Pretty much, yeah. Shock traps might work for an extra break window. Else just practice drawslashing his head and rolling away. It will break eventually.
Ok I can't find a way to get Brown blangonga tail, I assume it comes from c. Blangonga but whenever I kill him I get leather tail. Does it come from it or some other monster?
