I've been a long time regular on the MHF2 and MHFU forums on GF, but the boards there are mostly just trolls. LOL

I even still have useful posts there like the in-depth Art of Unsheathing guide. :D

So I've been killing/capturing a few high rank (normal) rathians and haven't gotten a fire Wyvern brainstem yet.
I looked online, but some people say you can get it from high rank rathian, but others say you get it from silver rathalos.

    Can anyone confirm anything? Thanks

Bow user here and ineed help with the Akantor guys. Its really hard to dodge his charge attack since he's so big and it seems to be homing as well. And flash bombs only work for 5secs. Any tips?

The charge attack is the only move that would give you problems. Only use the FBs for when he starts running at you. The rest of his moves have a very long startup, and as a bow player it should be fairly easy to get out of there very fast.

It wont home-in much if you arent too far from him. Distance yourself to about only 2 rolls away from him, and you should be able to circle him easier, avoiding most of his attacks. If you are too far, you'd have to run around in a bigger circumference around him, and wont be able to avoid his attacks.

Pierce shots work best on akantor.

Has this game been updated substantially since release? I found it difficult to get into the first few tries.

Unlike Regular and Azure Los, Silver's cutting weakness are his wings.

There's not much you can do as an LS user against his roars as they do require high grade earplugs. Just make sure that when he is not in rage mode, you have full HP when you attack him because he'll roar when he takes enough damage to trigger rage mode. You'll most likely be combo'd by a roar+an attack. Make sure you arent close to walls/edges so you dont get combo'd to death.

One trick to avoid the roar is to attack his LEFT wing when he is NOT in rage mode. This will allow you to position your attacks so that you can roll towards the front of his left leg when he roars. The forward movement of his roar will trip you, and you'll avoid being affected by the roar stun. This trick needs that you arent button mashing, so you can roll in reaction to him pulling his head back just before the roar.

As usual, stay just at the edge of his shadow when he flies up to stay safe. Cutting his tail also helps mitigate some range off his tail whips.

LOL... The difficulty will never be changed. That is how MHFU since the beginning.

In fact, i wont expect any update to this title at all, except maybe online stability fixes, additional MFi controller features, and reactive fixes to whatever future iOS versions may require.

As for the gameplay, MHFU has been complete since the PSP version.

Taking a break after the 4th try but I'm slowly learning Akantor's moves. I'm still having some difficulty dodging but he's now more manageable since as @EP said not to be too far from him. Gonna upgrade my Black bow to level 2 or get a rathian plate to make a dragon bow before i face Akantor again

I seem to have a problem with my game, I'm on the first quest and I've already collected all the 5 herbs that I was supposed to (actually I have 8 but that's beside the point), but when I go back to camp I can't find any way to deliver the items and complete the quest?

There was a red chest that asked me for 2 Popo Tongues and when I went back to it with 2 Popo Tongues I couldn't press the Green Tick button so had to press the Red Cross Button. After that my Popo Tongues disappeared from my inventory lol and nothing happens when I try to interact with the red chest. I've also tried standing in front of both the red and blue chests as well as everything that remotely looks like a chest and even that wooden bonfire thing outside the tent and going to my inventory and selecting "DELIVER" from the context menu, but it's always grayed out.

Please guys, does anyone know wtf is going on?? hahahahha cheers

Woohoo! My first time taking on what many consider as the most difficult non-DLC quest in MHFU with a LANCE! My lance mechanics are still pretty weak (especially versus Rajang LOL), but hey, i did it, and without flashes or traps either! ;)

Oh, and the quest is called Monster Hunter, and is a marathon quest of 4 G-rank monsters: Rathalos, Tigrex, Nargacuga and Rajang, in that order. :D

I hope you guys get to this point soon!

Sounds like you're trying to deliver Herbs, when what you need is Mountain Herbs (they will appear in red font lettering whenever you harvest them).

"I hope you guys get to this point soon!"

Based on my calculation, I will get to that point next year. And will succeed next 5 year. I hope I'm wrong.

By the way, I hunted my first low rank Shen Gaoren. I'm not happy, because I can't make anything from its material. It's death pose looks cool thought, and deserves a screenshot.

Lol... Thanks guys. From the last couple days i've been lancing Low rank Rajang for practice. I was never good with lances against rajang that i had to play it a lot, and that includes a lot of potions, and even a few kitty carts.

My method of practicing is equipping high or g-rank armors so i dont die in less than 5 hits, while equipping low rank weapons versus low rank monsters. That way i almost dont die, but my weapon is balanced with the monster im fighting so i dont get to abuse headlocking. For me, that's the best way to practice, and practice is the best way to get better.

The number of times i died against rajang these past few days. LOL.

What, there are low rank Rajang? I've never seen one before. There is no Rajang quest in the low rank elder quests. Is it a guild quest?
