I always go with a peace loving personality for my buff cat. It's the best you can choose. Remember that it is very important to train her regulary in Sit-Ups (for better defense skills when using the flute skill) and Meditation.

Here's a small guide I copied from the internet a while ago (don't have the original link anymore).

Foolhardy: Felyne will not revive. Attacks monsters, and will usually go on offense.

Brave: Will heal slowly, and attack monsters of any type.

Average: Felyne will go on offense in an equal manner. Heals at an average rate.

Cautious: Fast heal rate, and will only attack small monsters.

Cowardly: Very fast heal rate, and will attack small monsters on most occasions.

Scrapper: Normal heal rate. Goes after small monsters.

Weapon Lover: Will only use weapons, and not bombs. Normal heal rate. Goes after all types of monsters.

Prefer Weapon: Usually uses weapons. Attacks all monsters. Normal Heal rate.

Bomb Lover: Will throw bombs, and only bombs at anything that moves. Normal heal rate.

Prefer Bombs: Usually uses bombs more often than weapon. Normal heal rate, and attacks all monsters.

Aims Large: Usually uses weapons, and only attacks large monsters. Normal heal rate.

Aims Small: Will only attack small monsters. Tends to use melee weapons. Normal heal rate.

Peace Loving: Will not attack anything! Normal Heal rate. NOTE: This temperament is HIGHLY recommended for those who wish to have a felyne comrade that uses the flute set of skills. In example: armor flute.

DOUBLE KO: Will only use bombs. Only attacks large monsters. Has a very slow heal rate.

What does a peace loving cat do when not gathering or using skills?

Try to get the monster's attention by jumping and waving.
In other words, be cannon fodder... which is something I value as the Felyne companion I chose is Peace loving :)

It was my second attempt at that quest today. The first one went REALLY stupid. The monsters would fly to the same zone everytime, I was low on potions, hot drinks and other items and eventually I managed to kill one of them. Then on the last few minutes I damaged the second one enough to make it run away to the same zone where I killed the other one. He was going to be sleeping so I used a power seed and a whetstone to ensure max damage on the lvl 3 before entering that zone, and... I got the wrong one. Yup, I performed the lvl 3 on the head of the Tigrex that was already defeated, the other one woke up and killed me, and time run out.

Either nothing or gets beaten up by monsters.
Sometimes it helps you out of a stun with a little knock on yer head.

@Varo: Amazing! Dual by yourself? I had enough trouble killing one. Though it's significantly easier with flash bombs. I just did that flash bombs once I got frustrated.

Your first attempt would probably upset me a lot if that were me. No shock traps?

One tip if you want to flashbomb tigrex: do it when he is NOT in rage mode. He will choose to taunt or spin a lot more which are basically invitation for you to hit his face since he is very slow when not in rage mode.

Ah thanks EP. How can you tell he's in rage? Faster attack/movement? I know some monsters show rage easily while others I only guess they're angry when they start moving really fast.

Faster, stronger (harder, longer), red eyes and red forearms
You can also tell he's in rage mode when you start having a bad day.

Kushala Daora ... A new hallmark in difficulty. How in the hell am I supposed to kill this guy? What armor do I need to farm for wind resistance?

I think mono blow is the best for it.

I just skipped him (her?) for later.
Once you reach high rank it's pretty easy

I use garuga set and iron striker+ hammer when defeated this guy. To stop his wind use flash bomb or poisoned him using poison knife. But those solution only temporary. To completely stop his wind you must destroy his head.

if you already used all of flash bomb and poison knife and he still has his wind find the opening (when he turn around or after landing). At that moment hit his head and roll over. Repeat until his head break and you can attack
Him freely until he repel or he die.

i think you need a dragon weapon so you can break his horns, which turns off his aura

Daora has a UNIQUE wind aura that isnt negated by wind reduce skills. That said only the g-rank Chameleos armor has anti-daora skill.

To remove the wind aura from Daora there are a few things you can do:

    1. Stagger. You can stagger her either by hitting the head with enough damage, or you can stagger her by throwing a flashbomb where she can see it while she is flying/hovering in the air.
    2. Poison. As long as the purple bubbles are on her, her wind aura is turned off. You can either use poison knives, poison bombs or a poison weapon to turn the aura off.
    3. Break her head parts.

You can hit the head safely when she fire a wind blast. Her wind aura is off while she fires the wind blast.

When you either stagger or poison Daora, her wind aura will temporarily be OFF until she turns it back on by ROARING TWICE IN SUCCESSION.

You can PERMANENTLY turn off the wind aura by breaking her head parts. Just hit it enough times. ;)

I read on the wiki that cutting off it's tail disables the aura too, can anyone confirm?
