Wow that's pretty handy. Just saved it to my Reading list for easy access. Thanks a lot again. After reading and thinking about it I think neither the Giaprey nor the Velociprey armor will do me any good because of the skills. Have to wait for some skills that aid my LS-playstyle
Looks a great game and if anything like MH3 ultimate then will be amazing ! Does it play well on the phone display ? And is there a demo or lite version at all ?
The only way I can compare it to MH3 or MH3U is to say that it will feel compacted and a lot more simple than MH3. The game plays very well on an iPhone screen, I have quite large hands and I still managed with all the controls but I do prefer to play it on my iPad. Unfortunately there is no demo or lite version of the game, the best thing I can recommend if you want to have a good look at the game is to go on the CapcomUnity channel on YouTube, they have uploaded streams of MHFU every Monday since it's release so it could give you a good idea how they manage with the game. Personally I thought the game was a no brainer and handed over the cash. A flawless game for ios but expect to find it a lot more difficult if MH3 was your first of the series.
There's some tutorial tips / links on the 2nd post of this thread as well. It may or may not help you. I'm LS as well and I love that weapon!
Hey, looking online it looks like the PSP version had a way to do an upwards vertical slash with the LS, and I can't figure out how to do this on IOS. Anybody know? Is it even possible?
I'm working in the ceanataur set, is there any special weapon I need to be using to break his claws and legs to get those respective parts? Right now I'm using ravager blade
That should work perfect. That set will look good with the ravenger blade too! I'm trying to upgrade it to the daora path, but it takes way too long to get claws
Can only be done as part of the spirit combo. With weapon out and an almost full spirit bar, press R (run button)>A (attack button)>R>A>R That part where i changed the color of the attack button is the upward slash. Funny that on the PSP you also press the actual R shoulder button
Yes, of course. The upward slash is part of a combo, you trigger it wish an unsheated sword by tapping the main weapon button directly after an upward slide (the poke / stab). Here are two nice combos: (those are not the official combo names, just named them like that to remember them) Storm, Hit, And Retreat while running, slide down "run" button to unsheathe and swing, slide main upwards, tap main, slide main down explanation: you come running with this and start with a circle swing, followed by a stab and an upward slash and finish with another swing while dodging back. Stab And Crush slide main button up, tap main, tap main explanation: you stab the enemy, followed by an upward slash and finish with a mighty swing down I'll try to figure out the "official" combos from the PSP MHFU today and post them later here.
So I wimped out early on in the game and skipped kushala daora, even though he is the easiest ED (not including kirin), but am now going to have a go. My question is, do I need a dragon element weapon to break his horns? Or is that just luna/teo?
On another subject, finally completed the Khezu set after a few days and decided to get the khezu horn (624 raw power, same as the Wardrums I was using). Have to say that farming for "pale bone" was a harsh process. Now onto 3-starred elder quests.
Daora? Just raw will break everything. Teo and Luna are the ones that require Dragon ele. I think you can cut Chameleos tail and break his horn with either fire or dragon... Not sure if Raw works with Cham.
Cool thanks. The tactic is to use flash bombs when he's flying right? Also, once I've killed him a few times I can finally make the high rank ceanataur armor! What is best though, the U or S set? I heard there was a good combo of both (SUUSS?), but also that it was tweaked in this game. I noticed that the S set gives artisan points, but the U set doesn't
Yeah youtube is a good shout, It does look like alot of game for its money, will have to give it a go soon
................. this makes me more sad than happy. I got happy reading that but we're never really on at the same time and we can never connect. Even the guys on the forum only have time for only 1 or 2 missions. We usually lose 50% of our missions. How you hit HR9 in only 2 hours is insane. And I'm jealous. It's nice you did that for someone else. I would love to help lower people once I have better weapons or equipment. Even the coolest equips I know I'll never have because some enemies I can't beat solo (especially when at my point I can't even upgrade eager cleaver which I've used for 2 months now). I'd be nice to get the items to upgrade that as well. I wish we could link because I've almost given up on the guild hall since it takes forever to connect and people can't even stay that long by the time it connects, if it ever does
I don't think this one works. The only combo I can get from a run is the unsheathe, + tap regular attack, + back slash. If you try and do the vertical he'll pause (the attack won't connect).
PSP to iOS button conversion I do not know whether the subject was mentioned before. Is there a one-to-one mapping of the PSP buttons to iOS tap/swipe ? Since Vovin, Exact-Psience are discussing the subject about LS, I tried looking into the hunting horn combos and found this http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/683294-monster-hunter-3-ultimate/65871847 I am not sure how well this transposes to mhfu (especially since it is about monster hunter 3). Are the button to tap/swipe mappings consistent between weapons? If so, could someone provide it here or link to somewhere where it's been discussed?
Controls are shared between weapons, given a few special moves Eg charge button for hammers is the demonize button for dual swords. Eg2 slide left while great sword unsheathed is kick, but kicking is not avaliable to use while any other weapon but great sword is unsheathed. Just to clear up, there is no 'swiping', you won't be wildly swinging your fingers around to attack things. The left side of the screen has a joystick for movement, and the right side of the screen has a button for rolling, running (which becomes the weapons special move eg charging hammer), sheath/unsheath and aim (for gunners). Added onto these buttons are slides, that when slid in an appropriate/allowed direction will do a different manoeuvre Eg while holding run button and then slide down, this activates the weapons special ability instantly, without having to unsheath (eg charging, block) While confusing at first, it quickly becomes easy to use and very convenient, as it avoids the use of the dreaded 'claw' position. Some combos might be a little finicky though, like the lances' triple upward stab which requires you to slide the attack button up three times in quick succession. I'm a hammer user, and I find the controls extremely easy and efficient (possibly due to the hammers' lack of combos/attacks that connect together). Hope this helped
