The felyne 'health recovery' represents how long it spends underground. When a felyne is damaged enough it buries itself while it recovers, so Slow recovery= less time felyne is active and doing stuff Fast recovery= more time felyne is active and doing stuff The only way a felyne will help you regain health is via the health and true health flute skills. These recover the same amount of HP no matter the felyne or felyne attributes. However, if you are looking for a supporting felyne, I would recommend health flute (later to be replaced with true health flute), demon flute and armor flute. You may, of course, use any felyne or skills you want, but those are your primary felyne support skills. You might end up running with no felyne later on, as they can get in your way, or distract the monster at the wrong times, but until then happy hunting
Pretty overwhelmed at the moment of sheer amount of weapons and armor...can't wrap my head around what I need and what to craft. Killed and captured the Giadrome a few times for farming purposes. Love those LS but I guess I shouldn't feel too comfortable with just one weapon right. Using the normal Iron Katana atm...should I upgrade right away to the Iron Katana Grace (is that what it's called in English...difficult to translate from German to English )? Last but not least: should one invest in a better armor right from the start or wait for some better materials (love the look of the Giaprey-Armor... ) Wow a lot of questions...sry for the long post...
Beauty of MH is that you can choose how to progress. You can farm up for stuff that you want to build while learning more effective tactics in fighting monsters, or you can skip farming (except for the one you decide will help you move forward), and go farther into the game before figuring out what to craft. Longswords are pretty consistent weapons that can be used to finish the entire game, so it's ok to be a purist LS user. Some monsters are going to be a lot more tricky with a LS, but it can handle quite well on its own.
Agreed. It's awesome but as I said...as a new MH player juuuust a litte too complex...even though I'm trying not to be too afraid. I guess I should choose my armor by the skills it provides me...--> off to find a list of those Thank you for this advice! I think I'll switch to the Hammer and maybe the DS and do some low-rank quests and see how they work and how I can perform with them.
I used to use dual swords, then long swords, and have now fell in love with hammers. It's a good idea to have both a blunt (hammer-like) and sharp (sword-like) weapon to use if you plan on playing solo most of the time. This means you can cut tails or smash things easily when needed. I only use hammers now, but I always have my old weapons in the box in case I need them.

Beat the Ash Lao on my iirc 14th try lol! HR5 finally! Used the black bow II with kushala armor set for the focus, demon and mega demon drinks with a power talon in my pack.

Doesn't that ruin the sense of achievement for you? It's a bit of cheatsy-doodling @chaos I can't play multiplayer because I'm on a school iPad. There's restrictions on it :'( Before I give it back at the end of the year I will definitely transfer my save over to my iPod. Then il be able to play multiplayer, but I'm not tech-savy enough to figure out how to transfer the saves myself :/
You have to download iFunbox (iExplorer also works), go to the folder of the app and copy the Documents folder to your PC. Then you just have to replace that same folder on the other device.
