Even if we could, would we? I mean, 'thunder damage' sounds a lot more badass than 'lightning damage' haha. The only advantage it has over a sonic bomb is that he doesn't enter rage mode after recovering. But who cares about being hip checked by an angry water chicken, right?
Have now piled over 40hrs into this game and have barely made it through the 3star elder quests. I regret nothing.
Wow - I now see what you guys mean with KHEZU! I'm practicing at the Training Mission to learn his moves but gets defeated once he enters rage mode and one shots me with his front wide electro-shock attack!!! I'll try again this evening... I hope I can do it with my Lance... It's either that or I craft a new Gun Lance (or Great Sword) from the Fire sacs that Yut-ku drops...
For monster fluid you could always buy them from the lady beside the guild hall And plesioth is a big pain in the butt, its harder than the monster you fight later. The hp is low and can die fast but that hit box and moonwalk is buggging me sooooo much
You can also use those poison bombs on those vespoids. They die after getting afflicted and you can loot them after
Trying a new weapon I've been playing for 30 hours or so. I was about to start the three-starred elder quests but figured I would do some of the earlier quests to collect a few items required to upgrade armors and weapons. To spice things up I decided I would try the dual swords. Now that I have faced the Yian Kut Ku again and felt the pain, I have a renewed respect towards DS users. I am skipping it for now after being forced to abandon (did not take enough potions, paintballs, whetstones...) and am seeing how things go with the Congalala before trying again. Oh and I've tried online quests for the first time last weekend. Tried a random guild hall and found one for hr1. It was a little weird having no real means to communicate but gestures. I mainly tried to join quests and support the others with the hunting horn. I let a great sword user with thunder ability do most of the job. Quests were a little hurried through but when successful they were rather fun. At some point during a quest the other players disconnected one by one leaving me alone against a Gravios. Needless to say, I abandoned after a few hits bounced off its skin.
Do you join a room with the others that are in your guild? If so, how do you find the right chat room?
Are folks still having issues connecting to online? I found a thread on another board where apparently the problem can be tied to GameCenter signing you in. Seems that a settings reset should work. (Found in Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings) Granted that wiping out settings/ preferences is scary, your data content should remain intact. Be sure to backup anyways.
If you are using lobi to chat you can switch between private and public chatrooms i think it automatically joins the group chat as soon as you enter a room you can also leave any rooms by selecting the avatar box and then scrolling down to leave the group
I'm new to the series but have sunk a ton of time in on this already. I'm on the 4 star village quests now with all 1 and 2 star quests complete and only a few random 3 stars, but I'm still only HR1. I thought progressing through the solo quests was how you up HR level, am I wrong?
Check this out: http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MHFU:_Hunter_Rank_Up_Guide You'll see which quests you still need to finish to rank up.
