Hmmm, any strategy tips for beating plesioth the first time? I'm using a hammer with a bow as my ranged option. I tried using traps but I can't get him to go on them cause he just jumps back and forth from land to water. The sonic bombs get him out but then he goes all rage mode and hip smashes for massive damage. I've been enjoying the challenge up to now, but so far he seems like kind of a dick.
Always assume his next move will be the hip check! I am also a hammer user, so I know how hard it can be :/ just superpound one of his legs and then roll away immediately, rinse and repeat until either he dies, you dies, or your leg muscles begin to atrophy. Haha I'm in the same boat. It's quite a step-up from the elders' quest, but I'm annoyed that there aren't any specific gathering ones- which means if you want some high rank mats you're going to have to gather on the go.
Ugh, I wouldn't mind getting destroyed so much if he wasn't basically just spitting on me and hitting me with his ass. For massive damage, before hiding in the water so I can't get him. He's the worst.
Part of me is extremely tempted to get this game. I love the idea of an RPG and monster hunting blend. But the practical side of me knows I don't generally have hours on end to play any game, and from the sounds of it this one is pretty tough and frustrating. A high frustration level can get irritating for me.
Bowguns are just so boring to play with. I killed one with a lance, but it took forever. I wish I could make a lance or gunlance with thunder element.
I'm working on building my khezu armor set. Can all the materials be farmed from khezu? I haven't come across any monster fluid... I hear that I need a sleep sac to craft it, but haven't come across whatever drops it
Don't think you need a sleep sac. You can get them from Gravios, but I don't think that you're at that point yet. Unless you're making Red Khezu armor? Monster Fluid is rare, you can get it by carving vespoids, and a few Trenya locations will yield it at 200/300 pts I think.
Use low attack, high poison SnS. When they are hit with poison, dont hit them to kill them. Let the poison kill them. Another option is to bring poison smoke bombs. It may take a while, but you'll get your carves after they are killed by poison. Im sure you can get monster fluid as rewards when you do the Hornetaur slaying quest or the vespoid slaying quest, but im not sure if they are available to you yet.
Plesioth is a giant dick, for lack of a better way to describe him. His hit boxes are insane, and he will waste most of your time swimming around, then jumping out of the water and charging you, then it will dive back into the water without giving you a good window to hit him. I used the Eager Cleaver for this, he's weak to thunder weapons since he's water. Side note: why is the electrical element termed "thunder"? Does no one realize that thunder is just a sound, lightning is the force that actually causes damage?
Ahahaa... Never really thought of it that way, but you have a point. Anyways, we cant do anything because MH.
