I also have this problem now. At first everything was fine but i have communication errors for 3 days now.
Finally beat the Shogun quest and had my first taste of fighting a Nargacuga and maaaaan he's really hard! Kinda makes the Tigrex a walk in the park

Once I get to high rank in the gild hall and unlock the gathering quests I can go to town on some genprey to make my first high rank armor @knowledgeable people What's the best way to get fire Wyvern marrow? I've killed/captured a few rathians and rathalos', but I've only got one of hype two I need for my hammer upgrade Should I farm the 2 star guild rathian?
I can sum up what I did; maybe it can help you... I typically didn't have comm issues, but it did occur a couple times. I closed out all other apps, and powered the phone down/ up. After that it worked fine. Perhaps it was a coincidence. Regarding port forwarding and DMZ, it depends how familiar you are with changing your router settings. I ended up going into mine and it actually had a port forwarding preset for iPhones (which I chose). As for DMZ, that seemed a bit risky. Looked to me that it opens the gates wide open to your device, which should help. My worry is that everything other than gaming is also open on my phone. Also try power cycling your router. Hope this helps. Maybe try linking into another wifi network and see if it works. At least this way you can narrow in to what the problem is.
Do the large monsters regenerate their health? Still can't beat khezu btw. I come close but it always seems like I get cheesed by him or the touch controls screw me up. I think this would be so much easier with a controller
No they dont, unless they're sleeping. Khezu just has massive hp. Take note that when some monsters are dying they go to rage mode easily, where they move a lot faster.
I usually don't have communications error too, only in this game. I can play LOL with a 40 ping and any other mobile games don't have ths issue, so my router isn't the problem. But I think that the Iphone has maybe a wlan-energy-save-mode. My 4S is quite hot when I'm playing mhfu and it could be, that the iphone is going to an energy save mode, when playing long. I don't know if I should play without a case.
Ok I seem to have gotten my groove back. I switched back to lances from GLs, am backstepping like a mofo. I just took out another yian kut ku without getting KOd once. I was hoping to find some items to make a new lance, but YKK didn't drop any fire stuff. I'm gonna tackle the urgent khezu quest again as soon as I get a free minute. In using rampart lance right now, but the next upgrade costs some rare mats. Black gravios parts x10 I think and dragonite, neither of which have become available yet. Any advice on what lance I should be upgrading towards?
I have tried pretty much everything you've mentioned before, here is where I'm at with the whole DMZ thing, I use my iPod touch not my iPhone, to do all my at home internet browsing,email,playing games and such, and yes I am aware of the potential risks of my device being breached because basically it's being put out on the webs, but it's my ipod, I have no important information such as credit cards, numbers, addresses and so on, so It wouldn't matter to me putting up with the risks. Do you think I should try it?
Yeah, I'd say try it. Worst case you can go back and unDMZ it if it doesn't work. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out. Maybe try assigning your iPod a static IP address. At this point I'm just grasping at straws. Edit: just did some random searches and looks like dynamic ip should work well.
Yeah!!! Elder quest 3 star urgent done... On to some 4 star... Swinging a gun prototype hammer that I'd love to upgrade. Fen pray armor set, what is next viable armor upgrade and also what is the use of pokke tickets? I have 3 but unsure what crafter to give to?
4-star Elder quests? I believe there should be a Garuga quest, a White Monoblos and a Ceanataur quest there at that point. Each of their armor sets are pretty strong, and could take you all the way to high rank.
Yes, after many failed attempts I finally managed to beat the Khezu! It seems that a few of us on here were having trouble with this urgent quest to unlock the 3-star levels. I'm sure this is nothing compared to the monsters later in the game, but it was pretty tough for some of us that are new to the game.
