Ok, I was having a really hard time with Plesioth. I'm able to do 4 star quests but I can't kill Plesioth.but I actually killed Plesioth after a lot of dying and trying to realize there is a green one too. I never had a hard time like this with any monster. I'm using GS and Ds maybe I should use a different weapon type?
Perphaps with a HEX Editor and the files of the game, but in-game, as far as I know, nope. Why do you want to change it anyway? What the heck did you choose as your char's name?
Believe me that the main problem relies in the monster. The hitboxes on his attacks are beyond ridiculous. What I do against him is focusing on punishing his "water gun" attack. Trying to punish any other thing would result in a surprise charge, and that attack can hit you even if you're behind him, making it very difficult to avoid.
Ugh, I hated the Plesioth. Beat him on the first shot with a LS, but he's really annoying. I'm using Eager Cleaver, and I think he's weak to electricity so that helps. but yeah, it's very hard to dodge his spin attack where he spins his head and tail, and if you get underneath him he can hip-check you which makes no sense? The only real opening is if he tried to water blast you. And watch out for when he dives out of the water. Keep a wide berth.
Like somebody else alread said, the hitboxes are huge, espicially the bodycheck. Tale a weapon with the block ability and i think the khezu greatsword is pretty good(altough is looks ugly).
Wow. Thanks for the good info. This thread convinced me to experiment with a few weapons and I picked a bowgun for ranged attacks. Glad it'll work!
Take advantage of free hits as much as possible, bring 3 shock traps and a pitfall trap, try standing in front of the mountain when you can to get tigrex's jaw stuck on the rocks, maybe also consider bringing a paralysis weapon. Otherwise blocking, evading and having a good raw defence will make life a lot easier.
Finally got enough heavenly scales to make G rank silver rathalos armor and upgrade my long sword to wyveryn blade "camellia"
I think that's my problem, I simply can't respond fast enough to hit then move. The best I'm doing is 'hit' < 1-1.2secs> 'roll'. I just lack the manual dexterity to move my thumb fast enough from one button to the other. But I can hardly blame the game for that
