An addition that I would really have appreciated would have been a subplot involving humanoid enemies and more traditional fantasy RPG elements and adversaries. I really appreciate Monster Hunter's unique focus, and would not have traded it for a generic action-RPG, but the combat mechanics just seem so perfectly suited for enemies with melee weapons and similar capabilities as the player (as well as gargantuan beasts). Outsmarting and outmaneuvering opponents who fight on equal ground, with a fighting system that relies so heavilyt on manual evasion and blocking and targeting, is the most satisfying realtime combat experience I can imagine. (I'd really like a traditional open world RPG for iOS with similar scope and depth as Monster Hunter, and with the same fluid, fast combat system. Ravensword: Shadowlands is an impressive technical achievement, but the game is too linear for my taste, and not varied enough, and the combat mechanics are just a bit too static and slowly paced.) Well, regardless, this is a defining product for iOS, XCOM-/Infinity Blade-style.
Kut-Ku armor? Kind of depends on how much you enjoy fighting that Also, the longsword is a fine weapon.
@Mene The easiest to get would be any other of the 'prey armor. I would suggest gendrome armor as it has good defence, although the iodrome has better. You won't be able to really get the iodrome set until you get to the volcano or swamp though. If you want some armor with good defence you should kill the crabs to get the hermitaur armor. The boss version is a giant hermit crab. He can be tricky if you don't have a hammer though. Have you tried the hammer? I use it now and find it really powerful. You might find it easier to charge up an attack and just run up and hit the monster than string together combos with the LS, especially with your disability. Use what you are comfortable with though, don't use a hammer just because it will make certain monsters a little easier!
Thanks for the help Yeah I tried the hammer when I did all the tutorial weapon mastery quests but I really struggled with it as it was so slow and left me defenceless most of the time. Also I missed with like 90% of my blows which didn't help But I'm all for giving it another try if you think it's worth it
All you need to use is the superpound for short breaks and the 3 hit combo for big breaks. Don't worry about hitting the head, the enemy ends up dying before I can stun it Hammer is also good at breaking stuff.
You're doing the same thing I did. You have to go do the elder quests first. There are quests you can get from her that will let you upgrade your stuff first before you attack the other more difficult missions.
Hated him at first, but now I can slay YKK like nothing. I'm actually using a full set of Yian-Kut-Ku armor. Also, longswords for life!
I'd just upgrade giaprey for now, wait until you can get something significantly better. Or if you want to upgrade sooner rather than later get the gendrome armor since genprey are pretty common in the desert, which you have access to. I went from the giaprey armor to the khezu armor, which is much better defensively, but I mainly crafted it for multiplayer since it's perks allow you to heal everyone else near you. It works on your cat, and allows you to buff everyone near you whenever you use power/armor seeds, or any other item that gives a buff. Also works for healing items. I also had to kill the Khezu a few times anyway to upgrade my Longsword, and the khezu armor makes killing the khezu much easier due to it's electric resistance, so it might be worth looking into for that, but I'd probably stay away from it unless you plan on playing multiplayer at some point.
I would use hammers if they didn't look so goofy. They just look so short. Heh I know it's a silly reason, but it really bothers me
But if you plan on upgrading Iron Katana "Gospel" into the Eager Cleaver, yeesh, there's no worse early game enemy to get your materials from.
I've just discovered decorations. ..yes, I am that slow.. I made a defence gem but when I go to attach it to my armour there doesn't seem to be any difference. It says defence +1 but looking at the Screengrab my defence isn't going up 1. am I missing something obvious?
The skills you get from the gems are the same as the ones you get from the armors. The number should add up to at least 10 to activate the skill. That said, you need 10 of those defense gems to activate the Defense+ armor skill. Full set armors are the easiest ways to activate skills, but once you hit high rank (and G-rank later) you can start mix-n-matching armors together with decorations to activate skills that you want to have on your character.
I can't find the Facebook group. I click the link and it says it's Page not found. Also can I get a invite to Line group? Name is Harondred.
Is there any groups? Solo forum or anything for ios mhfu? If not. I can make a forum specifically for mhfu iOS. Made dozens
Having to fight Khezu multiple times to craft the Eager Cleaver (which I did) is one of the reasons I ended up making his armor in the first place. With this armor and the electricity resistance, and now that I've killed him a few times, he's really easy to kill. Still not as fast as I'd like, but that's ok.
