    Thanks for the reply!

    That's what I've figured :)

Good thinking: bringing a fourth one.

    I agree: it is annoying.

Until yesterday I really really did not want to go on meat hunt (poor vegetarian Poppos ;) ) and thought that eating fish could be a replacement for rations and meat. But that was until I had to finish the Conga 2-star quest on a grumbling stomach... :D Then again there is the granny in front of the guild hall (who is selling raw meat at a higher price than well-done steaks ).

"Having the cat BBQ": is it the same process as cooking the fishes?

Yes, you use the BBQ Service option on the left board in the kitchen. They'll not get all of them perfect but they get better as they level up.

This is for the guys who are new to the series: how well are you doing? What weapons are you finding success with? How have you managed to adapt
    To the control scheme?

Doing okay. It's been slightly difficult on a few boss quests. And finding time to fit in a couple quests is hard between work and wife, but hopefully I'll continue to find time. (Bought the game and sank my first 15-20 hours into while laid up in bed after ACL surgery).

I've been mostly using Hunting Horns. They have great attack patterns, are as powerful as the current Hammers that are available, but also offer great buffs if you play the right tunes! The controls are great, and the one-tap on the map to reposition the camera behind the hunter is very helpful. I like the option to see 360 degrees around my hunter. It allows me to see where I need to roll or who I need to attack.

I hope Capcom will also release a localized MHP3rd in the future. The Zinogre looks very cool :D

^Funny enough, Zinogre is not in MHP3rd. :D:D:D

    MH3 is a different title altogether. ;)

    Guess what? Classified.

We'll I've finally managed to complete my shogun armor set!
I've gemed health +20 into it, but if there is something better let me know (obviously artisan to get more sharpness, but I don't have the mats)

I've been doing the village quests and hardly scratched guild hall quests.
Should I do the guild hall ones first, do that the village ones are easy, or should I work my way up to them by getting exp from village quests?

    FYI I can't do multiplayer

I chose attack gems, but IDK what one is the best. I just want to finish monsters fast :D

If you don't play MP, I'd say the village ones first because you unlock upgrades for the farm and get better materials for better equips and craftable items.

It's completely up to you which ones you do first. Either way, the other will be easier, either because you've already done the fight against monsters with more health, or because you already got better gear.

Personally I do village quests first (not only in this game) to get the unlocks done. If you don't play online you don't really need to worry about increasing your HR in the guild hall.

Ah... Coz in the MHP3rd translation patch his name was Jinouga. And the armor in the picture wasnt the MHP3rd version of the armor.

You guys are way too fast! I'm still doing 3 stars quests. When I get to play online the servers will be deserted. Wish I had more time to play this. :(

Really enjoying it anyway. While I think 3G is the better game (more polished, better looking and I personally loved fighting underwater), FU is still great. Can't praise the controle enough, top notch stuff. I wonder if the game is doing well. At least enough to convince Capcom to port Portable 3rd and 3G.

Anyway, what early armor (3 stars quests) do you guys recommend? I'm still using the Battle armor. It's good for sharpening, health and attack skills, but I'm looking for a new one.

I wish you didn't have to wait for the animation of an item going into the bag everytime you get one from the supply chest.
Also, I don't see the benefit of having to collect the plants from each field row on the farm since you can only plant new ones once you have reaped all the rows.

This is one of the few things mh3 does better than mhfu.
The farm was easy to use and item collecting from supply chests were instantaneous.

That reminds me of when I used to play multiplayer in Tri before they shut down the servers :)(), at the start of any quest everyone would make a mad dash for the meds and rations.
The most excruciating part was when a noob stole the dragonator controller from the supply chest on Jhen hunts.
And they'd always use it at the wrong time lol

I'm having a hard time to complete the first mission after the tutorial... The monster is too fast, it is always moving and following me, I can't attack it without getting damage. I think I'm missing something.

The best advice I got from this thread for your problem is: don't spam the attack button.
Focus on dodging, time your attacks. This is especially true if you're using a slow melee weapon such as the hammer or the long sword.

Also if you get hit when attacking, try to hit from the side while the attention of the monster is directed towards your Felyne companion or elsewhere because it is attacking.

Having made my Giaprey armour I'm back to doing the 2 star quests, my question is, which armour set should I be trying to make next?

(I'm using the long sword as I suck with the ranged weapons)
