PSP version on Vita Hi, I already have Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on Vita, but i never play it (ps+ game). I have ipad mini first generation without gamepad Mfi. Wich version is better?
I had mh in my psp but I like this version better. Probably because it's always with me since it's on my phone and it controls really well. If you like a physical controller stick with the vita since it's all virtual. However the virtual Buttons are really well done

Sorry guys, more questions :/ I'm trying to create the Giaprey set but I need earth crystals and disk stone. I assumed I'd get these from mining but I've not found either from lots of mining yet? also is there an easy way to earn money? I'm really struggling and always have under 1000z right now, which makes it hard to buy equipment or pay for gear.
For Earth Crystals, im pretty sure Jungle has a lot of them. Bring max number of pickaxes to max your mining. I believe you can also get some disk stones from there. As for money, it does seem a bit scarce at first, but later on, once you start farming boss monsters, you can sell spare monster parts and they sell ridiculously high amounts of cash. One trick to make lots of money since we already have the DLC quests available, is the Felyne + Melynx DLC. There is a decent chance of getting eggs (steel eggs irc) in the rewards and they sell for 10k each i think.
Well, it's said to be possible to solo everything, but you'll be missing a lot of fun. Get a pickaxe, go to any map and start mining. You shouldn't have any problems finding those items. I found the jungle to be the best, but you can get them everywhere. As for earning money, go to a gathering quest and start searching for stuff. After ending the quest by delivering the ticket, you'll get some monet and pokke points for some of the items you got.
You get disk stone and earth crystals by mining in Pokke Farm and Snowy Mountain. Keep in mind that earth crystals are kinda rare in that area so don´t waste them. According to the internet earth crystals are easier to find in the jungle and volcano levels if you have them unlocked. For money just do the lv1 Giaprey quest again and again and try to farm for ore/ crystals and mountain herbs and other items the guild will pay for. Try combining items and material from gathering quests/ farming (even if you produce garbage at first try) then you don´t need to buy these and save tiny amounts.
@Mene After every quest you should go to the farm and mine the crack in the wall (and while you're there, collect from the rest of the places.) Both earth crystals and disk stones are obtained from mining, and can be obtained from the crack in the wall on the farm you should get one after a few tries. As for money, gathering quests or quests that require you to kill a certain amount of monsters will take a lot of time, so killing boss monsters is a good way to get money. Another way to get money is to sell stuff. Say you don't use the bugs from the farm- you can sell them for money (Note that if you upgrade the bug thicket there will be two bushes. Each bug bush hives you 3-4 bugs each). I know that this game can be confusing and hard, and your determination is fantastic. Well done so far on progressing! If I were you I would work on your camera skills. When you say you spend most of your time adjusting the camera- you should really be moving your character and/or attacking stuff. Are you using the monster lockon? It is really helpful in most cases. Something you may not know is if you are holding the sprint button and swipe left (you don't have to actually swipe, or take your finger off the screen, just move it left while holding the run button) the camera will move behind the camera, just like it does when you tap in the middle of the screen. If you are using the monster lockon, this trick will toggle it active/inactive. Once you get your camera skills up you can work on your dodging to be an effective hunter! Also, when you start a quest you should swipe down on the screen once so that you have the best camera angle (in my opinion). I hope this helps you a bit. You have probably heard it before though Don't worry about those vespoids (annoying flying bugs), they are literally everyone's most hated monster.
Just a general note to those that want that little bit extra cash- Take all the supply items! I don't have to make or buy tranq bombs because I save them from quest, but if you are low on cash you can take all of the bowgun stuff (if you are a gunner) and sell it later! It may not be much, but it can add up if you do it every time
Thanks for the help and tips. it's much appreciated I do mine when I can but those picks are getting expensive to buy, I've not even touched the farm yet, trying to learn the game slowly without getting information overload The camera thing I simply put down to my age (52) and my disability, which means I simply don't have fast reactions and can't move from button to button at lightning speed like some do I'm going really slowly but I'm (mostly) having a ball I have to say, one of the most annoying things so far in this game is the time it takes bodies to vanish. When attacked by say two giapreys by the time I've killed the 2nd one, the body of the first has vanished and thus I lose a chance to carve it. Grrr
Hey, you Germans!!! The translation of the game is pretty pretty good, not to say "fantastic". But Capcom made one major hi-la-ri-ous mistake, which seems like a funny easter egg. They translated "credits" with "Guthaben"!! ... I lol'ed for 5 minutes. And yeah, Vespoids are the most hated monsters. They can paralyze you, distract you, are annoying and in the worst case, they steal your kill by attacking a monster that you've nearly finished. There are trolls, not insects.
Can you play with random people in multiplayer or only with friends? And is it the same solo quests or new multiplayer quests?
Same quests that are in the guild hall. The elder and felyne elder quests are single player only. In the training hall, there are single player and multiplayer training missions too. And yes, you can play with random people if you want, but there isnt a lot of people in the high rank and g-rank yet. Most players are in the "no preferences" and the "low rank" rooms.
Eep, 240 page thread. Do you all recommend playing this on an iPhone 5 or an iPad Mini? OK iPad Mini has a bigger screen, obviously, but which one performs/controls better?
Thanks for all your help guys MH has always been one if those games I wanted to get into, I think I'll finally join the club now. If only I had a 3DS as well...
Haven't touched the farm?! It's really beneficial to use! Basically you tell a felyne to plant crops, and after you do a quest you can go back and get the crops and plant new ones. You can also mine, catch bugs, catch fish, collect mushrooms and honey. All for FREE. You don't need to buy pick axes or anything, in fact you don't need anything for the farm (except a crop to plant, but you get more than one in return)! You can spend pokke points that you've earned to upgrade certain bits of the farm. For example upgrading the plantation lets you plant 2 crops at a time. I would start using the farm ASAP since it's a good long-term investment. After each quest you can go back to the farm to do the activities again (mining, bug catching etc)
