I guess not. Where can I switch it on? Configurations? Thanks! But since the monster doen't have a health bar, how can I know how much damage is enough?
@mene Did you use the most right button when fighting giadrome? If not then use it. And playing this game is not about mashing attack button. You have to patiently attack and dodge (using that button i asked earlier). Sometimes you even have to change the map just to eat the potion if your health bar is very low. Some tips : - ear hot drink from blue supply box (it will help retain your stamina more longer) - if your stamina bar is down eat ration from supply box. - stamina is very important in this game. you will need it a lot to survive by running and dodge
Well, congratulations! Glad you stuck with it. I remember from other treads that some games control schemes gives you trouble.
It's up! MHFU for iOS Camera Lock-On tutorial! Its a bit rushed, so lemme know how you want it improved.
Once you find a monster in the map, the ? icon will turn into the icon of the monster. Tap it and if the monster is in the same zone as you, you can tap the screen to enable it. It's a bit difficult to tell. For the giadrome it should be enough once he starts running away, but most of the cast will start running away earlier.
Been loosely monitoring this thread since it was released in Japan and have now taken the plunge, downloading as I type. Thanks all for the in depth comments as I was worried at first as to how good the frame rate would be (no concerns anymore). I played monster hunter freedom 2 for the psp about 6 years ago and got stuck fairly early on but reading all your comments made me realise where I probably went wrong. Going to probably use the sword and shield, but what weapon would you suggest makes the game easier for starting off?
There's a "tell" for each monster when they are ready to be captured. For dromes, they flee to different areas.
Thanks for the video Exact, very helpful info about the lockon feature. Could anyone explain to me how to join other people in quests in the online lobby? I cannot for the life of me figure it out and don't see it explained anywhere, thanks!
I remember that you can cut off some monsters tail or crush their chests. Can you target these with ranged weapons, too or do you need a hammer or longsword for certain tasks?
I recommend Sword and Shield. Reason : - fast attack (give a lot of combo) - can block (higher change or surviving) - fast movement (easier to dodge) - can using supply without unsheeting the weapon (the best hidden feature from SnS)
You can only cut tails with cutting weapons, which include lances and GLs. Hammers, HH and bowguns cant cut tails, although they can break some monster parts. There's no lock ons on monster body parts, except for Lao Shan Lung and Shen Gaoren.
Yes I use that, tbh most of my time is spent trying to get the monster in view and I seem to spend a huge amount of time with the camera staring at my feet which can be disorienting I'm on the weapon tutorial quests now, on the first one, sword. These little critters you have to kill move really fast, I'll keep trying Thanks for the tips.
If you swipe up or down in the middle of the screen you can change the altitude of the camera. I always swipe down once at the start of every quest so it's slightly above my player. This way I have maximum view and awareness of my surroundings.
