Is it easy? Is it worth $15? No, no and yes. You do hack and slash but the emphasis is on the word hunter. Imagine if you're hunting a dangerous gorilla in real life, this is similar to how the game plays. It's not easy but it feels satisfying when you win. There are some comparisons to Dark Souls but it's not exactly the same. There are also RPG elements and deep item / gathering system. And cats. Is it worth the price? Yes. It's a full console port with improved everything. Even the controls are arguably much better and in many member's opinions near flawless. 2) How do I lock on to enemies? (credit: ExactPsience) YouTube: video Note: Lock on only works on big game monsters. Not regular enemies. 3) What's the best weapon? There is no best weapon. I encourage everyone starting the game to try all the weapons. The point of the game is to find a weapon that suits your style, not a style someone else tells you to have. If you want to buy a weapon at a gun shop, you don't say "give me your strongest gun" but you'd rather try them yourself to see which one suits your needs. Or else you might get stuck running around fighting a Rathalos with a rocket launcher An infinite ammo bandana wouldn't save you if you can't figure out how to use your weapon. 4) How do I make / join rooms online? You go to the guild hall (select ONLINE when entering). After that, you select your room type. If you want to play with a friend, you can make your own room by typing in any number on the lower field (your room code) and hit NO when it says it can't find your room. This will make a NEW room for you. Give you code to your friend to have them join and they will input the code in the same field. Hence, if someone gives you a room code, you can join by entering their code in that field. WARNING: The must unstable part of this game is room joining and connectivity. You may have to try multiple times to join or you may not be able to join at all. 5) What's the difference between Guild Hall quests vs Elder quests? Guild Hall quests are generally harder versions of the Elder quests. They were made for multiple people to battle together (but you can still solo). Beating Guild Hall quests are the only way you can raise your hunter rank. Elder quests unlock other important things like farming sites. 6) What does XX armor skill do? (credit: Monster Hunter Wiki) http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_Skill_List_(MHFU) 7) Where is XX resource? (credit:Hunting Grounds web) Forest & Hills Mountains Jungle Desert Swamp Volcano The old tower &2 8) Can this be played Solo? Is it online only? Good news is yes to both these questions. You can play the entire game offline and solo every quest. Quests in the guild are generally made for groups (harder monsters) but you can still play them solo. If you go solo you can also bring along a trusty cat to help you (who has his own skills and leveling system!). 9) Best Devices? Works near flawlessly on ipod touch 5G, iphone 5 and above. Smooth framerates and near ZERO crashes. Excellent under the hood. I've played most of Capcom's ports and this is definitely their best port. 10) Installation Size 1.1-1.2 GB 11) Miscellaneous sample hunting videos (credit: ExactPscience) YouTube: video Early Boss YouTube: video Advanced Boss 12) How do I get stronger? What about equips? You technically never change but you can increase max health and stamina with different items. Your character will never level up. You have weapons you can buy and upgrade that will pack your firepower. For defenses and different status abilities, you will need to buy armor. Armor and weapons are forged through ingredients from killing monsters. 13) Do you wear your enemies? Gross! In detail: Humans and wyverns cannot co-exist. The only way to get this through their head is with a sword, or wear their family on your body. Then you can tell them to "stop hitting yourself." In short: They deserved it. 14) Why can't I beat XX monster? Obvious. Because you suck. Just kidding. Hunting stronger monsters takes planning, timing, and experience. And it can also take a long time. Losing is half the game because you need to learn the enemy's movements in order to best it, just like real life. If you die 5 times in a row, take it as a learning experience and not a failure. This isn't Dynasty Warriors. Don't expect to jump into battle and hack everything to bits. 15) Transferring saves from one Apple device to another Apple device Download iFunbox - http://www.i-funbox.com/ Attach both devices to your PC or Mac that has iFunbox installed. Open iFunbox. Make sure both devices appear in the dropdown menu that's across the top of the program window and on the right side. Select the device that has the save file. Click "Managing App Data" and find your MHFU program. Click on the Documents folder and you should see a file named "savedata.dat". Click on this file and click "Copy to PC" on the menu on the top of the window. Save the file in a location on your computer that you'll remember, as you need it in the next step. Close out the Managing App data window by clicking on the X in the upper right corner of the current window. Switch to the device that you want to copy the save file to. Repeat step 3 above but instead of "Copy to PC" select "Copy from PC". Find your savedata.dat file and copy to your device's Documents folder. You can predict the enemy's movements but the enemy can't predict you... Go fourth monster hunter! Happy Hunting! Calm, Buddy. But true, I want this game so much and I really hope for a fast western release. But it might be very possible, because Capcom put a lot of ressources into that title to enhance it for iOS, so a worldwide release seems absolutely possible. They also brought a watered-down Version of Monster Hunter to iOS before, so the community knows about the series. Additionally, they sold quite a bunch of this earlier MH title on iOS. And also, I found this in a German Forum: Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G: Westlicher Titel: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite Erscheinungsdatum (Japan): 27.03.2008 Erscheinungsdatum (USA): 26.06.2009 Erscheinungsdatum (Europa): 26.06.2009 - Deutschpatch: verfügbar (erstellt von Team MH *Germany*) Englischpatch: verfügbar (erstellt von Team HGG) That basically means that there is a German as well as an English translation patch somewhere available.
