Cool video trailer Sanuku. Definitely thinking about picking this up now. Too bad the graphics need a little work. Hopefully the gameplay makes up for it though.

But I have to ask you a question Sanuku, are the graphics better than Devil May Cry 4? Cause' those were so awful I deleted it because it was hurting my eyes.

The graphics need a little work? More like a complete overhall. Capcom really needs to improve their graphics if they want to be taken seriously, their graphics have just gone from bad to worse.

I haven't tried the game but judging by the screenshots this looks slightly worse than devil may cry.

Those images are scaled up so much that they can hardly be considered a good representation of the game's graphics.

    That's hardly true..

The graphics indeed are of the same quality as Capcom's other games, but I'll still be picking it up since the gameplay looks pretty decent. Can't resist anything even related to a good RPG these days.

Thanks for answering Sanuku, spelled it right this time xP.

I'm guessing you have an older device? Those screenshots are in native 960 x 640 retina resolution and haven't been scaled up at all. The game itself might have been scaled up to the retina display (by quadrupling each pixel), but the screenshots would look like that when taken from a retina screen device and therefore it's only fair to show them in full resolution and compare them to other screenshots in full resolution. And there's no shortage of iOS games to compare this game to. Some examples - Infinity Blade, Real Racing 2, Shadow Guardian, NOVA 2.

I have never played a Monster Hunter before, so I probably won't get a kick out of this. Thanks for the video, though! What would we do without you, Sanuku? :);)

Capcom doesn't seem to take the iDevice seriously. Odd that they put so much effort into Street Fighter and so little effort into everything else. The fact that they believed they could sell Street Fighter for 9.99, and these other ports no so much, likely has something to do with their attitude and effort, but if they had put more into Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, Dead Rising, and Resident Evil Mercinaries, perhaps they could have sold them for 9.99. We'll never know, because they just slapped a bunch of half-assed crap together and called it a day. Pretty much the same thing Namco did with Ridge Racer and Ace Combat.

EA would never do their mobile fanbase wrong like this. If you don't think it's worth the effort, Capcom, why do you even bother? Most companies that don't believe its worth it just DON'T bother doing it in the first place.

I don't know what to think about this game yet...

In a way it is a 5 dollar version of MH. i.e. MH w/o anything that makes MH, MH, just a nice hack n slash with MH elements. Specially if you start the game with that armor and YKK does that little damage. Looks interesting, but will actually wait and see what is included in this.

Does any one know how many "levels" of monsters there are or how many monster are included?

Wait a minute, you and I both know that the game isnt out yet. The topic has 5 pages. What exactly did you expect?

    There will be 2 sides:

    1. bla bla dumbed down version of MH, sucks
    2. bla bla is for casual games, yay

simple as that, the only upside of this topic in particular is that Sanuku gave us gameplay vids, which are otherwise more scarce.

I've played it as I do have it. Game is after an hour playing just so so. Graphics are ok. Animations are fuzzy. The way u control is like infinity blade but with less polish. Game isn't bad so far but it is far fro
    Great.

See capcom , now you've chased some of your potential customer away with a half past six version of MH on the iOS . MH was never intended to be casual . If you want to succeed , you gotta read guides and stuffs on best types of weapons on so and so monster , monster weaknesses and weak spots , raging attack and defense multipliers / normal attack and defense multipliers to chain successive stuns / headlocks / tripping etc.

A diablos isn't a diablos anymore when you slow him down .

As much as I like this game , I won't recommend it because it'd only ruin the true impression of MH .

How many people do you really think are going to be fooled into thinking that this is comparable to the (much more expensive) PSP version? Seriously, it's getting stupid. Judge the game on its own merits. It may suck, but don't compare it to the $30 PSP game, because in their own description Capcom states that it isn't. I'm one of those crazy people who actually like RE4, DMC4, and Dead Rising on the iOS. I acknowledge their flaws, but overall I like them. I don't expect them to be full ports of the originals for 5 bucks.

Well I'm huge mh fan and I've been playing this for the past hour an a half and I have to say I'm impressed. Im not sure a full mh game would work without actual buttons but this has the right feel and nice combat for small play sessions. Only thing I'd like would have been more than 3minutes a round maybe 10 or 15 instead as rather than take your time your encouraged to run in and slash away before the time runs out.

But overall I like it. Now I get to kick a kutku's ass while waiting for the kettle to boil. Lol

I fail to see the logic in this. Do you buy Big Mac to "encourage" McD to make healthier food?

This looks absolutely horrible in my opinion. For iPhone/Touch users new to the series, it may be some decent fun. But for me, who is a long-running monster hunter fan, it really is nothing like Monster Hunter. Only thing similar are the graphics and sounds.
