I completely agree with you man. They could have improved the contols by at least putting a d-pad so you can move back and forth and then attack instead of dragging all over the screen to move three feet around the monster. From the video it looks like your stuck right next to the monster with no ability to retreat and look for a oppurtunity to attack wich all previous games let you do. Even though it does look really bad i will probably still get it because i am such a fan of the series.

The 3D graphics look great. It's the big flashy "Down" and "Good!" in the screenshots that I dislike. They look like they were designed with MS Powerpoint's Word Art.

Yet once again Capcom ignores the iPad. They used to be my favorite developer, but since they ignore my now-favorite device, I'm losing my love for these guys.

Well I'd consider myself a big mh fan I played freedom for over 500 hours and I think this looks cool for a quick pick up an play game but still with the mh setting. I'll be getting it ASAP in the uk.

Hmm still no sight of actual crafting, although lots of pieces drop. Maybe it's something that gets unlocked later on in the game?

If it would Help i could do a second HD Gameplay Trailer later in the Game for you so could take a look at the Crafting System. Currently i am busy with the HD Gameplay Trailer on the iPad since i wana know if i can make my iDevice explode since Capcom did wrote as a small Note:

Performance on iPad and iPad 2 are not guaranteed.

Are you controlling the movement during battles? If so, how? This really doesn't look that bad. There's more to it than just Infinity Blade, although the graphics definitely are very reminiscent of Capcom's other iOS games. I'm going to get it though, since it appears quite fun. Reminds me of the combat in FF7: Crisis Core on the PSP. You can use magic/skills and items during battles right? Decent story? Thanks for answering/impressions Sanaku.

As a long time player of the entire MH Series, it saddens me to see such a watered down version, but hey, it's a start I guess. :/

I wish this was universal or had an HD version but being such a huge fan of the MH/MHF series, I'll more than likely be picking this up tonight. *crosses fingers for many many future updates, especially Lance, Gunlance, Bow, more weapons, equips, etc...*

It looks like the only thing this has going for it is the fact that it has dual swords, whereas Tri didn't (for whatever reason, it was a terrible decision). I could say that Capcom should put more effort into making an actual full-fledged MH game for iOS, but to be honest, the only way it would work decently enough to play is with one of those controller attachments for the iPhone and whatnot. Maybe someday... probably by the time Frontier reaches North American shores (for those not following it, that would be never.)

Touching the Screen at the Left/Right, Up And Down Part of the Middle Screensection you are moving your Hero. It get`s sometimes tricky but i am slowly getting into it so some nice Movements are possible if you get used to the Control-System.

And the Battlesystem is similar to FF7: Crisis Core. You are running around in a Closed Battlefield and can pretty much do anything you want in that Area as long as you are not Dead.

Yes, by touching the Symbols that appear on the Left Side of the Screen when you manage to Hit/Block/Avoid the Monster Hits/... you are charging different Power Bars up where you can use at the End different Special Moves/Combos.

Currently i don`t have seen anything yet of the Story, maybe in the other Chapters...

Thanks Sanuku. It doesn't look to bad on the iPad. No carving and no whetstone usage either from the looks of it. I wonder if any of the bigger bosses are in this release...

Thanks Sanuku. I think I get it now. So basically it's not so much crafting, as there being an item requirement to purchasing a weapon. Instead of a knife costing you 1000, it costs 1000 and 2 bones (or something like that).

I guess that adds a certain motivation to grind previously defeated creatures so you can accumulate the items needed for that next big upgrade.

They won't though it'll just encourage them to keep making shovelware. When you bear in mind IOS devices are supposedly more powerful than the PSP and then you see this kind of travesty/joke.

You can argue the money angle but if they had put the work in people would have paid a lot more than even final fantasy 3 for a real monster hunter expecially in Asia. This franchise is still selling ridiculous amounts of PSP's it's a game that had the potential to make IOS a real contender and they treated it like a bad joke.

    Thanks for the vid Sanuku.

I have to say it's Monster Hunter enough for me to get. But since there's no iPad support, they won't get my support.

I've only ever played Monster Hunter Tri, so I'm not deeply invested in the series. Losing out on visiting the towns and npcs, and roaming the country side hunting down a monster takes a lot of the charm out of the game. But it still looks fun enough. I'm a sucker for treadmill, carrot-on-a-stick type games where you're always chasing down the next little thing to give you more power, and this looks like it fits that bill rather well.

No native iPad support?? What? That's pretty lame. I'll wait to see if they're going to bring out a separate HD version.
