Well ive been playing EX mode a bit and I have to say it's much better, harder the way monster hunter should be. But I would have liked to have seen the time limit extended for this mode to take some of the pressure off, as I still feel I have to take unnecessary risks to try and get the mission done in 3 minutes.
Overall though I'm happy for the update as a experienced MH Player this now feels like a much better mode than the normal casual mode. Now all we need are more monsters, weapons and armour from here i can only see it getting better. Atleast capcom are supporting it with updates.

You have to play the first mission I think to get the full options.

The menu system for this game is ing shit, frankly ;)

To get the new missions you have to finish the last mission then press next and it says take on the new ex challenge.

And mission score I think it based on counter attacks and dodges etc.

Bleh I was hoping that Capcom would also throw a 4th of July sale so that I could pick this game up at a reduced price, but I guess they didn't care for it >< Dunno if I can wait much longer, it's not like it costs a fortune anyway.

Besides, it would really match my iPhone 4 casing and background:

Are there ever gonna be any more updates for this great game?

I love this game so far. Of course, I have more than 1000+hrs on the real thing on my PSP, but I always carry my Ipad with me for business. It would be great if they added ALOT more content. More monsters, weapons, armor, and the ability to free hunt for items and resources.

    Come on Capcom!
    Don't leave us hanging.

You know, I'm still kind of disappointed. They only added the Hammer... Leaving out the Bow and Lance.

I hope the wait for those two weapons isn't as long as this one was for the simple Hammer.

New monsters are real nice though. :p All in all, pretty solid update.

    Yes!

    Finally!!

I honestly thought that Capcom had given up on this game. Im so glad that we were not forgotten. I was also wishing for ranged weapons as well, as I am a Long Bow kinda guy, but im grateful to be getting hammer and new monsters. I sincerely hope that Capcom continues to update the game more frequently. Im sure that they already know that we monster hunter types are a hungry lot!

Agreed. I'm most looking forward to Lance and Bow as well, but no complaints here because it looks like they(as well as Gunlance) will eventually come. The vid earlier in the thread showed them so I hope it's just a matter of time. Keep in mind, the Hammer maybe simple to use, but it's also the most powerful melee weapon in-game with it's pure knockout power.

Great update indeed. Still hoping for universal one day(though I have my doubts) since I play this on my iPad 2 primarily...

Well Capcom has a fairly decent record in updating games, even a game like Dead Rising which wasn't received that well.

I'm sure this isn't the last update ^_^

Really curious about this game. I've never played MH game before, does this have a steep learning curve?

Hm.... Not really. Nothing like the bigger MH brothers.

    It's really a glorified free-moving Infinity Blade.

Just watch the monster for a bit, learn its attacks, then dodge and hit it 'till it dies.

It's got the addictive nature of the bigger MH games wherein you can create armor and weapons, albeit to a much smaller level.

EDIT: that being said, these new monsters, like Tigrex, are exceedingly hard when compared with the previous 4 levels of monsters. Definitely need to upgrade the equipment before taking these guys on!
