+1 Its not the time, its the intrusive nature of it. It ruins the whole experience. Some people are more tolerant to ads than others, I suppose. We just have to agree to disagree.
alright then. I'll counter by saying that if you get all bent outta shape about innocuous little adverts for videogames that makes you a socialist.
alright tbh i would be scared to see you get something actually annoying if you get annoyed by small things such as this
Look, in the BIG scheme of things, none of this actually matters. We are really talking about $0.99 games, not peace in the Middle East, however there are little things that cause little annoyances that I wouldn't even mention it to anyone outside this forum. The forums are disigned for people to voice their concerns or opinions, no matter how trivial to facilitate the discussion about little things that cause us little annoyances. If you compare this matter to unemployment issues, taxes, child obesity or wars, yes it would be ridiculously stupid to even bring it up. All of us come to these forums to talk about iPhone games, and in that context its quite reasonable to express concerns about ads in games.
There is supposedly a new huge update soon and I don't think fruit ninjas finished... Since when did I say anything about peace in the middle east or anything?
DAMN you guys are fast! I was just uploading this image thinking I was going to beat ImNoSuperMan for the first time ever!
Just a quick note. I don't know if this was an issue for the iPhone version, but the OpenFeint dashboard is oriented upside-down from the front splash page and rest of the game. Not a game breaker, but more of a cosmetic/convienence thing.
Ah yeah, thanks for that. The crazy ViewController stuff has been giving us a bit of a hassle lately! Will be sure to address that one in a future update! Also, we tweaked around a couple of the Achievements too make them a little bit more.... possible
As a prospective customer who hasn't purchased Monster Dash, it's interesting to know that I will be forced to endure advertisements just because they have decided to ENSURE that YOU CANNOT TURN OFF the badges to their games. Sure, it doesn't affect the "fun boys" in anyway, but it sure as hell affect "Customers" who are thinking of buying the game. Edit: oops at not realizing I was replying to a topic 1 week old. So is the ad badges still there?
There is a badge when you have opened the game and there are unread news items. We generally update the news maybe once every 2 weeks or so. Sometimes its about a new game we have coming out, sometimes its a new trailer or just something random. The whole 'badge re-appearing when it shouldn't thing' has been a back end problem we have been having with Openfeint, but it seems to have been resolved now (at least for Monster Dash, although that could possibly be because of the new fast app switching functionality as well )
