You're right - we did say we'd post more screens, sorry about that >_< To be honest, we're in the midst of revamping the environments - adding a lot more animated objects, better textures, more particles, and more - maybe I'll try to get some enemy and monster profiles up tomorrow though But onto some more good news - while we've been revamping our multiplayer systems, we've also decided to go back and redo lots of stuff... we're adding a lot more story elements and story quests now. While the game will still at its core be a "build up you monsters by getting further in the rogue like randomly generated dungeons in order to work your way up the coliseum ranks", the game has much more of an over-arching progression to it as well. The great part is that you can kind of complete these main quests at your own leisure, or you can just purely focusing on trying to get as far as you can in the environments, which is a full game in and of itself. We're also adding a lot of little neat things like being able to grow your own fruit in town, randomized characters (that only appear during certain times of the day) that do different things, and lots more. In short, the game is becoming much more than we thought it would, and is really shaping up to be pretty huge! I can't wait to get a video out, but I'm going to make sure not to make any promises this time I know we're behind a bit, but its definitely for the better - thanks for your patience everyone!
That sounds incredible! Really, take your time - I know the end result will be wonderful and great fun.
So this game has adventure, action, leisure, real-time acknowledgement, and you can even grow fruit. I love you Foursaken Media
I typed very long post about you but it was so long that noone would read it so I'll shorten it: A.W.E.S.O.M.E. You're even better than the best
Ok, I said I'd get some profiles up, so here are two First up, is the 'Volcane' Essence... remember, you can mix and match any part of your Monster with any essence... so you can take the arms of a Volcane, the Head of a Bloomer, the body of something else, etc... each essence has their own stats and abilities attached to them... so what essences you attach to your monster will greatly affect how they end up progressing (defense oriented, all around mix, offense, or special/magic based). The cool part also is that once you learn an ability from an essence, its then permanently added to your ability pool (though some abilities require certain essences to be able to use, like wing based abilities will require wings). If you're familiar with 'Magicite' from FF, then its kind of like that with ability learning... if I remember correctly On top of that, you can also alter the direction of your Monster by imbuing them with Elements! Anyway, onto the Essences! Stats: Health: 2 Attack: 6 Special: 2 Defense: 8 Mana: 3 Abilities: Energy Beam Scatter Shot Magnetic Aura Charge Volcanic Eruption Next up is the 'Bloomer' essence. Stats: Health: 7 Attack: 3 Special: 7 Defense: 1 Mana: 7 Abilities: Energy Beam Scatter Shot Poison Cloud Mana Blast Photosynthesis Finally, here's just a few of the 50+ enemies. Like most of our games we take a ton of time making sure there are lots of enemies with tons of different counters and specialties, making gameplay more interesting as you progress. You'll fight different elemental enemies with different strengths/weaknesses, different support enemies, and tons more!
Tell me, how can all of your games be so underplayed? They are so great! If i had to keep games only from one developer, guess who would it be By the way: I played Bug Heroes today after a very long time and I have to say it's STILL one of the best games. I'm looking forward to your next game (hint: Bug Heroes 2, *wink*)
Wow! Thanks for the info Foursaken! I might have realised one of the things that make your games to captivating- the EYES! They stare at me with such longing and cuteness! So if monsters grow according to their parts- if I swapped volcanes and bloomers arms, my monster would grow with roughly balanced stats, right?
Also, can you get the parts of enemies? Because that turtle/bug-like thing makes me smile Oh, I have a feeling that choosing which monster to be will be as hard as choosing which pokemon to take when I was little!
Hi all, I just wanted to pop in and apologize for the delays and lack of info... we're still waiting on UI and effects, which is why there is a lack of new screens and/or videos :/ Other than that, balance and game-play have been in polish phase for the past 3-4 weeks, and is really coming along nicely! In the meantime we've added some nice minor additions like fully customizable UI (being able to move ability icons and other UI elements wherever you want), a more casual "one stick" control scheme (move with the move stick, tap enemies to target and auto attack them... like a zelda lock on - will auto target enemies for you too, so it gives you the ease of auto aim control scheme with the refinement of more advanced schemes), "one handed" move scheme (tap to move, tap to target), and some other stuff... of course we still have standard dual stick config in there as well.
Foursaken Media i kid you not i dream about your game. I have a water pillow that is pretty heavy, some 3-4 gallons of water and my girlfriend told me i was hugging it 2 nights ago saying monster, monster. She woke me up and i don't remember it but ye, doubt indreamt about a real monster as i rarely have nightmares
Thanks for the update. I shall patiently wait because all that sounds really awesome. Nailing a good control scheme(s) can make or break games and I always know you guys will come through.
When does this come out? Please come out. I got a six hour flight to Vegas. I want a game to play during my flight.
So any updates? Hoping to here some new of this being released this month or next, looks awesome can't wait! Growing fruits is a neat addition this game will be amazing upon release! Keep up great work!
