The maps can potentially be huge! They grow in size with every level deep you go into the wilderness (and are randomly generated). By the time you get to 4-5 levels deep, it'll take quite a while to fully explore one level.

File size should be about 150 megs to download, and around 230 installed, give or take a few. It may actually end up being a bit smaller than that once we get rid of temp development files, etc.

A little bit off-topic. Foursaken, are you still just four guys?

Yep! No plans to expand anytime soon... if ever. Our goal is really simple: have fun making games, make games we'd like to play, and hopefully be able to survive doing it! :p We feel like expanding would start to lose some of that for us, personally.

Just saw the trailer on the Touch Arcade news feed!
    Looks amazing!

One feedback i have and is based on my personal preference: some of the monsters look giant on screen and limit field of view. Is there any option to zoom out more and/or make our mansters a but smaller? I'm all for visually smaller monsters as long as their attack range is not a huge disparity compared to bigger ones.

Along the lines with the above, is there a option toggle to make UI transparent? The Map and buttons are just blocking a chunk of the screen realestate, i would rather not have it a solod block behind map and buttons but make it see through with the map essentials and skills only, no solid background if u know what i mean.

That's incredible. You are doing updates for older games and making new games so fast. I would not believe you if you weren't my favorite developer - original Bug heroes was the first game on the iPhone that got me really addicted to it

This game looks amazing and is somewhat similar to the Bug Heroes Quest. Also, if you can make the rpg-like skills of the monsters as diverse as the one in the Bug Heroes(where there are tons of upgrades and skills), then you willl have a mind-blowing game right there!

Man, it's like you took a hint from the Game Dev Story game, and just have fun cooking up all kind of unique gaming genres. Just keep them coming!

Thanks! As far as zoom goes, there is a bit of a dynamic zoom, based on your currently selected ability, as well as which enemies are in proximity to your character. Its only minor levels of zoom, but for ex when a ranged enemy is in range, it will zoom out a bit, or when you have a longer ranged attack it will zoom out as well.

As for UI, currently there is no option to make them transparent. You can, however, rearrange the ability buttons to more suitable or out of the way locations, and there are control schemes that don't have any move or attack buttons (tap to move, tap to target, etc).

Heh, yeah its actually not like we're actively grabbing elements of different genres and putting them together on purpose, tbh... it just so happens that most of our games can easily be summed up as a mish mosh of different game types once they're actually done :p I think it stems from us as gamers liking games with some depth to them, so the games we make inevitably end up combining a ton of elements together to create that depth.

Every new piece of info just sounds better and better

And who knows, maybe your next game will be a roguelike physics puzzler dual stick auto runner Match-3 with tower defense elements :p

Nah, but really all your games have been fantastic. Block Fortress and Bug Heroes being my favorites. Can't wait to play Monster Adventures

Monster Adventures also reminds me of Bug Heroes Quest but seems so much more revolutionary in character customization/selection. Also, as a roguelike I assume Monster Adventures will have a more open environment.

...The developers said this was coming in October, right? [Worth a try]

    :p

It's been a long time since I've been hooked on a game, and I have a feeling this game will do the trick.

Yep, definitely has tons of character customization! From stats, to abilities and skills, to elemental... you can also eventually build a team of monsters - I'm very curious to see the PvP arena in action to see the matchups between Monster teams!

And it actually very well may be out in October ;) I'd say we're probably nearing beta right around now, just polishing and balancing a ton! Hoping to set an actual release date for announcement soon!

    I hope so!

When I saw that a trailer was available, I was hoping that meant the game was a week or two away from release.

But at least I'll get to be first in line for beta testing. I BREAK YOUR GAME

    Thanks. We'll see. [IMG]
