The way you've described the main hub(town) and the gameplay, it almost sounds similar to an amazing game called monster hunter. (Not saying that your game is copying it or anything. they are two very different games. just saying that some elements, like equipping certain elements depending on what monsters you are facing, are similar) anyways, Can't wait!

Trust me, we'll post the trailer as soon as we finish it up! We're more excited than anyone else to finally get this game out there or at least show it off :p

Just googled it and that game does look interesting ;)

With Monster Adventures we really ended up with a huge smorgasbord of stuff, with elements from I'm sure a bunch of different games... from the monster creation and customizing, the catching element (and learning abilities from catching monsters), the town hub, etc, we're really excited about the depth the game has ended up with, and the different ways you can play. For example, there is a story arch, but you technically don't ever even have to complete it if you don't want to because there is so much other stuff to do. There is the coliseum where you can earn badges by competing... there are plenty of challenges to complete, and of course leaderboards for things like "how deep can you journey into the wilderness" and stuff like that. AND of course there is vs and co-op multiplayer ;)

But yeah, we're excited and really hope to have a trailer out soon... I know its taking a bit longer, but unexpected things pop up in game development sometimes >_< Just remember the extra time goes towards making the game even better!

Hey guys, finally got the trailer finished up! Check it out and let us know what you think! (note: some of the stuff is still a WIP, but we wanted to get the trailer out sooner rather than later)

Nice! Loving the look of the game! But did I see that bit after you accepted the quest right? There is a time-limit to how long we have to complete a quest? I thought Monster Adventures was going to be a casual-type game.

Those are actually more like challenges... there is no penalty for not completing a challenge, but there are rewards for doing so. You have a "challenge streak", which counts how many challenges you've completed in a row. The higher your streak, the bigger the reward. There are also leaderboards for highest challenge streak.

Of course nothing is final, but right now we're loving the sense of real-time in the game... there are bits and pieces elsewhere as well, like fruit plants growing in real time, shop owners recycling their inventory in real time, secret towns-folk appearing at certain times, for certain amounts of time, etc.

Also, its important to point out that the challenges are completely separate from the main story arc quests.... story quests can be completed at your own leisure. Heck, its possible to play the game and have plenty of stuff to do without EVER completing the main story! :p

Well, its definitely a different game than Bug Heroes :p

And don't worry, that's not a premium currency like you're probably thinking :p Its actually "elemental orbs", which allow you to imbue your Monster with one of the five elements (thats what those big power spheres are around many of the monsters hands in combat). Elements give you major bonuses, but also make you weak against one particular counter-element. Thankfully, you can also spend your elemental orbs to buy "Elemental Blossoms", which temporarily change your element, in case you're in a pinch.

^You guys really thought of everything. That sounds like a ton of depth. Forsaken hasn't disappointed yet :)

Ever consider developing for PC? I'd love to see what you could do with a bigger canvas.

I did not think it's freemium currency :p I know your opinion of freemium apps :) And I did not say it's not different from bug Heroes, I just wanted to say I'm not afraid about this genre after BH (well, I'm not afraid about any of your future games vecouse I own all of your games (and iAP for all bots in BF)) :)

So challenge streaks are time-limited? I would like them more if they were skill/difficulty limited, not limited by time

Are there rewards for wins in PvP arena?

Haven't really thought about PC at the moment... don't want to over-extend ourselves. Trying to focus on one platform for now and do the best we can with that!

The challenges are definitely primarily skill and difficulty based! You can choose to start the next challenge at any time after completing one, so if you know you're going to be away for a few days, for ex, you just don't have to start the next challenge. It ends up being a cool little extra mechanic, in practice ;)

As for PvP rewards, we haven't really gotten to balancing multiplayer yet, so not sure! There will definitely be leaderboards though.

    Good

There has to be some reward, otherwise some players won't even play it and there would be longer matchmaking before you find somebody to battle.
For example in Solstice Arena there are pvp and pvp ranked matches. Ranked matches has the same rewards as non-ranked (it only has leaderboards) so it's hard to find somebody to play with in ranked match (no problem with unranked) so there are rewards for being on leaderboards of ranked matches (resets weekly) promised for next update
