I can adress a few of these, in lieu of the poor, overworked Foursaken forum dude's next appearance Money, and the resource which with you alter elements on monsters. Are you criticizing the placement of the UI elements in a game where you can reposition those elements to your liking? Peculiar. I personally like the dash (scratch that, I love it, and wish it was a standard for dual stick shooters), but yeah, double-tapping the stick would be a nice (albeit slower) option. Success when netting. Since the numbers only appear when you bring out the net, this should be airly easy to deduce with a generous application of trial and no error I can see my monster's health bar at the bottom of the screen, just above the mana bar. It is quite noticeable, so I doubt anyone could miss it. Perhaps a bug?
The only thing i don't understand until now (i'm level 12) is how to seed to have fruits and be able to heal myself in town. I found an apple seed, but i dont know where i can use it. Anyway, slowly, i like taking my time to grow up, go exploring and fight bosses in the first levels, and after the first portal. And i just find the way to equip other essences than the ones i bought in town I'm happy to know there is a story! i think it looks like a bit heroes and castle because you have to return in town to rest, and go back in the field to fight monsters. You have manage your skills too, and you're really stronger than your ennemies, like in H&C.
I just started the game and I'm wondering where I can find the Mayor.. Thanks for your help everyone!!
Free advice, check tiles before going in a zone that looks like a portal . Boss tile just handed me my butt
Game Impressions I'm about 2.5 hours in. I can say so far, I'm thoroughly enjoying this title by FM. Some people presented some legitimate concern about it being a one button masher. However after my initial play through, this is negated by terrific, and varied combat. Not only does the combat feel great with the many skills you can use, catching the different monster types adds a level of play that is seriously addicting in itself. Boosting up your monster through collecting enough types of a enemy is fun and rewarding which gives you new skills to use in combat. You can also choose to instead, beat everything up and collect the gold if low on currency. Add the various types of essences to boost your monsters stats and look and there is plenty of variety in the game play. I haven't had this type of experience on mobile, only a console, and I'm really digging it. And...the difficulty is spot on. This isn't a game where you simply plow through everything, thankfully. There's a risk/reward aspect that I really like which entails going deeper for more difficult enemies in return for better loot or simply staying put and just acquiring experience and gold. If you stay out too long, you could lose almost everything obtained. So far, so very good.
2) huh? you can equip an essence. if its in your inventory, its there to equip on a monster when you go into the equip screen. <-- it asks if i want to use it when i click on it in town. Clicking yes brings up a "nothing happens". The essence will not show up in the equip screen if i choose which part i want to buy from the shop. If i buy the essence without specifying which body part it is for, it ends up as a one use consumable summon orb instead - yeah, you don't "use" essences in the town... you have to go to the equip menu, and then you can equip them. We're going to be more specific about this in the next update and will add a pop-up option which will take you straight to the equip screen if you try to "use" one in the town. 3) one is for money, the other is for elemental orbs - i believe it goes more into detail on that later, or explains it when you talk to the alchemist. <-- the alchemist explained it very poorly then. I tried buying a grass element but it says i don't have enough orbs. What does that even mean? I have 2 elemental orbs, how many do i need? How do i even get elemental orbs since i haven't seen any dropped as loot - hmmm... it shows exactly how many orbs each element costs (when you talk to the alchemist)... there is the orb symbol and a "x4" under each element. you find them in the wilderness and by completing challenges from the mayor. 4) there is an indicator for current quests progress... in the pause menu under objectives and quests (the speech bubble icon) <-- that bubble shows quest, not the amount of blobs you need to unlock abilities - oh, I thought you meant a challenge. you can see your ability progress by talking to the scholar. choose a wilding and it will show his abilities, how close you are to learning it, and how much left you still have. 5) you can customize the controls completely, including moving the icons anywhere you want - check it out in the options! <-- must have missed that tooltip then - seems you're not alone >_< we're going to be more explicit about this as well in the next update. 9) you find orbs in the wild as well... also theoretically you should get enough to buy an essence on level 2 or so. <-- i found a pantheron orb from a chest, no idea how to equip it so i sold it - if you just pause the game in the town, tap on your monster, you'll be at the equip screen. tap a body part (head, body, arms, legs), then you'll see all of your essences that you can equip! they are definitely the most important part of the game... so like we mentioned before we'll be adding some other indicators to make sure people don't get confused with it. 11) huh? your HPs are shown right at the bottom of the screen...<-- health only shows up in the wild but not on town, would prefer a floating bar - fair enough. we're not fans of floating bars because they generally obstruct the view - you also don't see your monster in town, so a floating bar wouldn't really work. Finally, about the dash, we can't have a double tap on the move stick because the dash is directional, and a double tap doesn't have any direction information. Thanks again though, good feedback!
Game Impressions For IOS gamers, Foursaken needs no introduction. The team of four brothers are known for quality games that mix elements from a number of genres into something fun and unique. Now they're at it again with the just-released Monster Adventures. Monster Adventures could best be described as a roguelike RPG with loot, Pokemon-esque monster capturing, and arena battles. Through unexpected circumstances you find that you are a Kindred, able to bind with and command the various Monsters that roam the world. You send your Monster out into the random generated world to gather loot and new monsters and gain experience, all in the pursuit of raising up the ranks in the local arena. Capturing and defeating monsters allow you to change body parts and abilities of your own, from imbuing your monster with elemental skills to different melee and ranged attacks. But die out in the wilderness and you lose all that you've gathered on that run as well as half of the gained experience. All these systems work together to provide the player with tons of customization and choice of how to develop their Monsters, from a ranged tank to a quick melee type and more. The focus of the game is actually the arena fights, as all the rogue-"lite" roaming is to build you up for these special fights. According to Foursaken, following the story that emerges across these trials will take from 12 to 20 hours and this doesn't count the co-op and PvP multiplayer options. Monster Adventure's colorful cute art style is wonderful and polished as the gameplay and nice Foursaken has once again successfully combined a diverse range of genre elements into a fun game packed with content.
I wish you could click on a bad guy and see how much health they have left. I was trying to catch one and it kept saying I have to weaken it first. I ended up killing it before being able to use my net.
Just tap the map to expand it. Also a secret tip - you get bonus xp for exploring all of the blocks in one level of wilderness.
The map is only visible in certain areas ? Thanks for the tip, I just tap the upper left part of the screen to make the map appear?
