Buying Now. I'm so glad I didn't buy it earlier. I was tempted ever since it came out.
Caught it on twitter as well. Anybody pulling the trigger at this price?
AHHHHH!!! DAMN I PAYED FULL PRICE A DAY AGO!!!!! This sucks
So is the multiplayer just like people sitting around in the same room, or can you play agaisnt people all over the place?
local multiplayer only.
so, wouldn't an actual board be better?
Maybe for a dollar or two. I'm not all that intersted.
my b-day is coming up soon... so I might pick this up
i would ask for better if it was my bday
if ur gonna get it just do it now
and i dunno why this game has very good ratings
i mean LOCAL WIFI sucks...just play on the actual board
cause 4x 8(originally) is the price if not more than the actual thing
and me never a fan of board games ill pass
yeah this local wifi thing is totally turning me off
local wi-fi works very good.
I think I'll try it out. I've had my eye on it for a while too. Just wish it had a option for a classic mode-that's what stopped me so far.
Seriouslly. Who would play World Wide Wifi? I mean the game is pretty long.. If your mobile your batteries would be gone. So you have to be at home with a charger. It would be a nice feature but I don't see much people playing. I see people playing and then leaving in the middle of the game.
and i would say wtf is the point of local wifi anyways
clearly the actual game would be more meaningful
just imagine playing the actual board and the iphone game in local wifi...
ull figure local wifi is very pointless
I purchase it for $7.99.
I don't think Monopoly on the iPhone/iPod Touch is meant for multiplayer. I bought it because most people don't want to play for several hours, so I can now play against the Al instead. Multiplayer is just an addition.
I find the AI to be a little annoying. Every other turn the computer tries to offer trades that are a poor deal (often giving him a monopoly and giving you an uneeded property in return). Don't worry, you can decline an offer but the computer will just wait 2 turns and then ask you again (and again, and again, and...). There are many other weaknesses in the AI that allow you to routinely thump it without challenge. Finally, I don't really care for the overhaul they gave the game, boardwalk should be boardwalk, and landing on go should net you $200 damnit!!
Local wifi isn't THAT bad, playing on iPhones is a lot faster, and less of a hassle. And I agree if you played online would see a lot of people quit halfway through a game, especially if they were losing. But still seems lame they didn't add it, with local wifi support already there seems like it should have been easy to extend that to online play.
Maybe they should make Monopoly Jr. That would free up all your negative comments. Trade, Al, Wi-fi, etc.
