2 hours and 5 mins left for us East Coast guys and I wanna get an idea of who is getting it and for what platform. Xbox and PC for me.
Was going to the midnight launch but decided otherwise... Sleep is more important. While all those 10 year olds are jacked up on Mtn dew I'll be killing them as they walk around aimlessly . BTW whats your gamertag for xbox mines o0PAPAxSMURF0o (the 0 are zeros)
lol.. So many people are to ignorant to notice all the changes in the game. If it had the same graphics I could run it full blast on my pc.. But I can't even reach min. requirements. But thats why i have xbox
I got it, and it's terrible. It's exactly the same as MW2 with different maps and a different campaign. In fact, I'm starting to think I'm PLAYING mw2! It's got the same graphics, I thought there would be at least an update in graphics! Don't know what all the hype is about. That guy that payed 10,000 must be shattered. The only good thing about it is survival. Lucky I got the game for free... Just my opinion though.
Modern Warfare 1 is without a doubt the best cod IMO. Only addition is the money grab Elite program. I kinda take this personal because my brother fell into the marketing and purchased Elite for 50 bucks (on top of the 60 he paid for the original map pa- I mean, game). Hard times in the economy and why people fall for this is beyond me. I apologize for the rant.
I agree with this. Call of Duty 4 is fantastic, and now we've got reviewers such as GamesRadar giving MW3 a 9/10 but also saying it's not as good as CoD4. Sense no make? If the games are getting worse, make the score go down! I'm also hearing a lot of people stating that innovation is not as important as plain ol' fun. I can understand how that would make sense, but if fun is what we're after, why not keep playing CoD4? Y'know, the game that's almost universally considered the series highlight?
Yeah, Skyrim takes priority for me too. I'll probably get MW3 next year when I feel like taking a break from Skyrim. I consider Call of Duty games to be in the same vein as FIFA games and other sports games. It seems like they only improve incrementally each year, but people still buy them, which is fair enough. I guess the new maps and weapons are enough to make people buy MW3. There are some new game modes as well, so it's not just more of the same. Anway, more of the same is fine by me. Take Uncharted 3 for example. I know it's cool nowadays to hate CoD, but they really are great games. I've been playing some MW2 recently (after a long break) and I really like how smooth and precise everything is. No other FPS comes close to the level of polish and smoothness of CoD games. And although CoD games don't have the complexity and team-oriented gameplay of Battlefield games, they have simple, fun multiplayer which is easy to jump right into after a bad day at work.
I get this and agree with you overall. For me CoD4 was great, but my main true love lies within WaW (Yes I know, everyone hated it. Whatever.). I've just grown out of the CoD series after so much of the same. There is nothing like the CoD series, true, they do make MP fast paced, and easy to jump into without much time commitment. I just don't like playing them anymore. =(
That's ok. I guess playing too much of any game franchise will make you sick of it after a while. Modern Warfare 2 was the first and only current gen CoD game I've bought, so that's probably why I'm still enjoying it and wanting more.
Yeah I remember when I first got my Xbox and got CoD4 and played the MP, I was in heaven. I loved every minute of it. I had played all the CoD's prior to it, but MW1 was... brilliant. Then WaW took that and ran with that idea and made it spectacular! Then MW2 came out and I was pretty disappointed. I was so excited for it, but alas: it really let me down. Even though it improved the current MP set up pretty much in every way imaginable, it just felt... generic for itself, and let's not get started on how weak Blops was. I played it, but not near as much as I played MW2, and I didn't play MW2 a FRACTION of the time I dumped into both MW1 and MW2. So I guess the bored-ness of the series started with MW2 >.< lol In my personal opinion, BF3. I haven't played MW3 yet, but I know from experience that BF3 is... just amazingly superior. Two different kind of games though (in terms of style).
It is not cool to hate cod. As a huge fan of the series, I am genuinely dissapointed by where it's gone. Nowhere. I assume most 'haters' of the franchise feel this way. As a comparison, you can see Elder Scrolls gaining many new followers as the amount of hard work being clearly evident in the series increases, whereas cod is losing countless followers because of this newly developed greed toward the industry. So as I conclude, it's not a matter (for me at least) of fitting in with the 'hate' crowd, it's a matter of former fans being let down by what used to be the most intuitive series of this generation now turned money hungry. The Elite program is a shame as they were racking enough dollars as it was formerly. To me, Elite is the largest sham to ever succed (I have no idea if it has truly succeeded) in the gaming industry. This installment is a shame. To anyone still deciding which to get, MW3 or BF3, I'd say go ahead and get your money's worth by picking up BF3. I'm not here to advertise, choose sides or debate, just giving my opinion.
just so you know, elite is free. And no, most "haters" only hate because they think it is the cool thing to do and they know little about the game, such as yourself. I have BF 3, and while it is fun I feel that it is even a step behind Bad Company 2. I was really looking forward to it and it is a complete letdown. @Midian I will get MW 3 because like you said, the gameplay is fun. I could just play Cod 4 (and I still do sometimes) but then I don't get the upgraded graphics, new maps, more customization, etc.
Coming from a long time COD fan and hater of Battlefield, get battlefield 3 over this. I own both and whereas they are both super fun, BF3 provides more content and a better online experience (at least for me.)
Does battlefield have a lot of offline modes or anything? Because mw3 has survival and spec ops and I hate playing online because of noob tubers and campers. I don't really even play online, anyway.
Battlefield, at least on the PC has basically the campaign as the only thing offline. But I don't really think there are that many "noob tubers" in BF3. Unless you're in a vehicle or in a mass group, you don't usually see them. As for campers, well, it depends on what you think a "camper" is. In battlefield, sometimes newer players think defending a choke point with an LMG is camping. Well, it's just considered a tactic in battlefield, and if you're team and squad work together, you can easily take the player out.
