It's the same damn wave, we've been riding it for years and the water's getting stagnant.

I'm getting an Xbox upgrade from my old PS2 soon. I love playing FPS with friends, but never owned one. Should I get MW3? Looks easier for a noob like me.

I have completely stopped playing MW3 for the sole reason that Elite is a piece of shit service so far. First off I cannot connect whatsoever, which is unacceptable when dealing with a game of this scale. That being said, I paid the extra $50 for the premium membership and still am being throttled, which again, is absolute bullshit.

The paid members should have priority over the free members, but apparently thats not important to Activision. Once they have my $$ they could give two shits about providing what I paid for.

    #### Activision.

If that were real, I could see Activision implementing Elite as an IAP...

And what is so bad about battle log? Let's see the browser works fine, it's free, and it has about every stat known to man. Oh you can rank up on dedicated servers as well unlike MW3, you don't have to use the crappy ass p2p servers like mw3 etc.. Etc.. Etc.. Think b4 you post

You know, it seems like unless Call of Duty comes out, and it doesnt change into a Mario-style platformer or something, people are gonna call it "the same damn wave". It's an FPS, what do you want? I just played through the campaign, it had completely different setpieces than both MW1 and 2, and they were spectacular. There are new multiplayer modes, not the least of which is survival mode, which will keep me off of zombies for a good while. The graphics and sound are platform-pushers, and the scale and scope of the game in both MP and single player are ridiculously huge. Maybe you're just growing tired of FPS'. I don't even prefer MW2 to BF3, there are so few differences in the style of play. I just can't believe players are so butt-hurt and ungrateful for the staggering amount of work that goes into these games. Hopefully MW4 will feature the soldiers hopping on each others heads for coins and 1up's, and finally satisfy you guys who seek such change from a genre that can only be stretched so far. Unbelievable

I don't really care. Been playing a bit of MW3, the campaign's good fun, and the multiplayer is very entertaining. The game has a lot of content too. I don't really know why everyone sh*ts all over it all the time.
That said, Battlefield 3 is also good fun, campaign isn't quite as good as MW3, but the multiplayer is arguably better, and it's certainly prettier.

Oh, sorry. I was being a bit too reasonable there

    YEAH MANG BF3 >>>>>>>>> MW3 OMG YEAH

In the interest of promoting reasonable opinion I present you with this:

If you go back and play cod4 you can see just how much 'work' has been put in over the past 4 years for this series. I am not a hater. I am not ridiculously unreasonable and illogical. I am truly disappointed with the cod series as are so many others. I might gave tried this game, MW3, if cod Elite didn't look like a scam to get people to pay for premade maps and social features (along with minor things that could have been free).

Plenty of game franchises manage to innovate while keeping the same core experience. Take a look at the likes of Arkham City, GTA, Dark Souls, SSX, Half-Life, Resident Evil, The Elder Scrolls, etc. There's a difference between keeping the identity of the franchise intact while moving forwards and innovating, and gushing out the same old content because you've got something that worked 5 years ago and are afraid to change it. I absolutely loved CoD4 at the time, it's still one of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had, but I want to play "CoD5" now... and the series still hasn't upgraded to it. Quite a few reviews have said they won't be able to keep the process up and the next version will likely have to change, so with any luck MW3 is just CoD 4.9 and next year we'll get something impressive.

I've been having way more fun in MW3 than I did in BF3. I'm playing on an Xbox though, and I'm pretty sure if I was playing on a PC I'd like BF3 a lot more than I do. The 360 port feels like a PC game, and I hate how limited the in-game chat is. It makes coordinating your team very difficult, and most of the games I've been in usually just amounts to one or two squads following objectives and the rest of the team running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Comparatively, MW3 multiplayer is absolutely fantastic. The default team-wide chat functionality allows for fantastic enemy spotting and team coordination, and without vehicles everyone is actually playing instead of a third of your team fighting over jet spawns. As far as Elite vs Battlelog, they've both pretty shitty. *shrug*

I think if i had to play on a xbox360, I would probably feel the same way. On the PC though, holy S BF3 is great. Xbox just seems like it is awesome to play with friends, I just can't use them controllers. The MW series on PC is just dumb, but I bet it translates to some really fun times with a bunch of friends talking smack on Xbox live ( I can listen to my 18 yr old son having a blast downstairs)
