Gameloft released a controller for MC3, however Modern Combat 4 support was not added. It is easy to presume that some sort of support will be available for MC5.
Im not even excited for this one. Mc3 and 4 were almost identical so im betting mc5 will be the same as well
No you are wrong. Mc3 and mc4 were whole alot different... Problem is that most of changes were pretty bad. I don't know if I am going to get iPhone 6 or whatever at this moment since I don't play any games on my phone instead I use 3ds and consoles. But I hope mc5 is better than mc4. Mc4 was very slow compare to past 2 mc games. Maps are not that good, and game is just not fun as it was before. I put so much hours into mc2 and mc3. Mc4 maybe like 40 hours? This could be due to having outdated device but game was not fun period. Hated class set up system, no real unlocking all about money and money
MC4 wasn't that great. I'll never accept what they did with the ranks. There was no purpose behind leveling up, and that's why the game died. One of the reasons I played MC3 so much was because of the ranks. It was rewarding. Also the ranked matches thing from MC4 sucks. It's not only the only way to get XP and credits, but also it can't even be called "ranked" when you're playing with guys with prestige. The only good things about MC4 were jumping over obstacles and weapon customization. And even while it was really stupid, I kinda missed the nuke. I REALLY hope this game will be more like MC3 than like MC4.
i hate mc3... makes me dizzy wth the motion blur on ipad mini and lags too much on ipod 4. besides its too fast paced. MC4 is a much better game, but I do agree that ranks are pretty useless.
If he wants it play battlefield than buy a console and play it there. On and btw this is what Gameloft_Ryan told me in the Asphalt8 thread: "There will be news, just not right now The E3 build was an alpha build so just keep that in mind, so that should put things into perspective about how far along the game is."
Gee, I never knew that. I don't think anyone else did either. I mean you haven't told us but 70 times.
I hope MC5 multiplayer will have an option for the game time limit to be longer its was very short in MC4
I don't think it needs to be longer, I used to hate it when I joined a match in mc3 and it was 30 mins, none of the players make it to the end, so you normally end up 1v1 with 20 minutes remaining and it was rubbish, 10 minutes is fine
For me MC3's pace was perfect, and maps were way more interesting and memorable. MC4 felt a bit like Nova 3 with large maps and such. Alert was my favorite in MC3, but I didn't like it in MC4. The only thing I'm wondering is what GL is going to do with MC. The MC4's rank system could easily be pay-to-win, since you could get any weapon and attachments from the beginning, but since it was an "expensive" paid game almost no one bought any packs with credits and such. With Call of Duty being a hit it wouldn't surprise me to see GL making a freemium MC game.
I agree on maps part. Recon and Scramble are perfect. But i hate not being able to cross obstacles. Besides its way too fast
While MC4 was undoubtedly the better game on the technical side I thought that everything else pretty much got worse. The campaign was simply boring, lacking the variety of locations and setpieces that MC3 had, plus the idea of repeating parts of levels was simply lazy. As many people have said the multiplayer didn't have as memorable maps and the leveling system didn't keep me coming back for more. Anyway, here are some things I hope they don't do in MC5: - Make bigger maps: The problem with bigger maps isn't as much the file size, as it is that bigger maps mean less detail, less thought put into each part of a map. Having recently played the open Beta for Killzone Mercenary on the PS Vita that game (or the one map available in the beta) is a great example of how I think multiplayer maps in a non vehicle based shooter with (killstreak)rewards should be designed: Small, but with a ton of flanking routes, vantage spots and some interactive/moving parts. Each area of the map should feel memorable and unique. Each area should have a purpose. - Add Vehicles: The problem with vehicles is that they can either be implemented perfectly (like in a Battlefield game) or they can be an absolute disaster. There is no inbetween. Not only do the maps have to be designed around people playing both on foot or in a vehicle, but these vehicles also have to feel right and be useful, but not overpowered. Getting them to feel right is the hard part, and I simply don't see gameloft getting the physics, the handling and the controlls of vehicles in an FPS right any time soon. They didn't work in NOVA 3 and they sure won't work in the next Modern Combat. Plus to make vehicles really exciting there need to be more than just jeeps and tanks. Helicopters and possibly even jets would make things a lot more exciting, but I simply don't see mobile devices being able to handle the scope of such a game any time soon.
