I've made a very clear and lengthy note about Pirates effect on Media a few pages back. Believe me I know the degradation

No you don't if you willingly admit to it, almost everyone on this form would rather pay for this game then get it free legally or illegally because we want to support the Devs not rip them off

Totally agree. 4 maps or not, I was going through the AppStore today trying to find something to waste time until July 24th, and there's nothing worth a damn lol. Stoked

I've been following this thread, all I've gotten is a POSSIBLY promising game, clan formations, and a group of (excuse my language) assholes badgering a guy about piracy over a game that hasn't even released yet, even though the guy explains his meaning.

The exact reasons why forums are destroyed...

Why Devs never like to talk...
Why our pleas are never heard.

The kind of stuff that pisses me off...

I'm not saying that piracy is a good thing, nor am I saying Wikilix isn't a pirate, what I'm saying that being an ass on a game forum doesn't make you the better or bigger person, it proves why you don't deserve the right to inside info on upcoming games, not gameplay videos, or the right to demand them. I seriously don't understand how you go from "haha can't wait ths game's gonna be great" to "you're a god damn pirate get hell out, your opinion does nt matter"

What do you not understand? If everyone was a "pirate" then there would be no company to make these games! We need "sticklers" Are you so cheap that you can't spend 6.99 on a game?

No one has a problem with a opinion, Its when people break the law and ruin the experience for the rest of us that people get pissed

I respect your oppinion an can see your reasoning however, piracy can be fatal to game devs, especially indie groups. Pirates should be able to have a voice, but their illegal methods and opinions shouldn't be tolerated. Forums are meant for discussion of opinions and even if it gets messy sometimes, the talk should continue. This could work if everybody remains respectfull and mature.

Edit: Not to mention the quality of the game is irrelevant and the fact that the game is not out yet makes the stealing arguably worse for GL.

To answer your last question it's as simple as "I'm right, you're wrong." I honestly couldn't tell you why persecution occurs when a pirate reveals his identity. I was only offering insight, albeit some information was biased due to a very bad free for all match. I see the "banishment" of pirates occur throughout all gaming forums. But you have to ask yourself, will the persecution actually change this person? Conform them to your personal views? I think not. I'd also like to point out that realistically speaking, I'm sure that everyone (or atleast a grand majority of you) on these forums have pirated some form of media at one point or another; I'd rather discuss games with a rough edged Pirate than a thoroughly polished Hypocrit.

Piracy is against the forum's rules. If you have pirated leave or be banned. Simple as that. Piracy, in no way, is a good thing.

He pirated the game, talks about it his experience with the pirated copy, lies about not pirating it, insults a few people, and now he admits it.

I'm so impatient that I'd rather not wait another week to give this game a test drive.

Counting the days until this is released, going to be great. We need more premium products like this. So happy gameloft decided to go this route.

    Have a gn touch arcade!

I'm sorry but that's just your fault and still is not justification

How about this for justification; I've purchased every game that I've pirated, if I actually enjoyed the gameplay mechanics. With how clumsy the AppStore handles games, I would think this justifies the actions. I was scammed on a few purchases a while back due to some stellar screenshots and few forum posts. It's not like I'll play through the whole game on a pirated copy, if anything it's 20 minutes tops.

You revealed yourself for downloading a pirated game. And people reported you. That is not at all persecution.

Persecution occurs because you have done something wrong, not only legally but also morally. End of story.

"Banishment" may not change the person, but it is not supposed to. It's not our place or purpose to discipline you, we are not the authority over your life. But we as a group have a right to exclude individuals for actions or beliefs viewed as undesirable by the majority, just as any group does.
It is not martyrdom, it is a direct consequence of your actions.

Pointing the finger at others and shouting "but he did it too" is not justification, nor a reason, it is not even an excuse. Piracy, facilitation of such, or encouraging piracy discussion is against the rules of this forum. Not only have you broken them, but you are also completely unapologetic.

Can we all stop bagging on this guy.

If I looked at your iphone id find hundreds of dollars worth of pirated music.

He said he's buying the game when it comes out.

    He gave his impressions.

But why keep yelling at him?

He understands you don't like pirating. You've kept talking about it for 5 pages.

I have never pirated a game in my life, and I still don't view him as some terrible parasite.
