There are no classes in MC4, just perks. Each class in MC4 has their set of skills, weaponry, and speed/health balance. Controllable kill streaks were confirmed on the stream Minor? Some of those are huge, considering its a sequel not a new game turning into NOVA. Those are game changers. Its a sequel. What more can you ask for. Besides, tons minor changes are what make up sequels. Yes its a clan system, thats huge. The party system in MC4 was completely useless. Dynamic maps, better radar, in depth kill signs, a solid friends system, descriptive kill cams, no annoying death sounds, picking up weapons on the floor have their attachments, universal progression, wide-spread maps where you can pin point a point of interest/drop air strikes, and tons more especially in the upcoming updates. Camos, more maps, and more game-modes. Plus theyre taking community game mode recommendations right now through email. They also explained why they have only 4 maps and game modes at launch. Each map is designed in their own style, they will focus on fan favorites and create maps that have similar gameplay. They picked the top 4 most played game modes in MC4 and they will expand. I do understand the disappointment in the few maps/gamemodes, but I dont think cluttering the thread will help fix this. Plus they are already working on new maps and game modes. Are you?
There's Team Battle, Free for All, VIP, Capture the Flag and Squad Battle. No Zone Control but hopefully they will add it in an update.
Huge. With every modern combat we all had to communicate through a third party system. And now they have their own interactive chat where you can tap player's names to invite, check their profiles, check their squads, and invite them to a squad. Its an good sequel guys Most of us here just want to enjoy the news and the game. You're making it harder by complaining and complaining here is not going to change any of it.
On the note of Dynamic Maps... Exactly how dynamic are we talking here? MW3 boasted Dynamics and Destruction yet fell short to it's promises.
The other day when we had Jared over for the MP event the iPhone 5s I was using ran for about 2-3 hours worth of time. Our iPads handled the session even better and I don't believe any of them ran out of juice. Yeah, at some point today I'll stop by and throw my GC ID in the thread! I'm actually not confirmed for any squad as of right now, so if you're up for carrying my FPS newb self, I'm on board!
changing weather effects and the design (heights, areas, balance, variation, and that sort of stuff) the previous MC's really lacked in this area. All the levels seemed to lack variation & design quality. Swweeettt!!
I agree. There is wanting a good game and then there is complaining about it. I understand wanting to get the most of your money but everybody here is gonna buy the game anyway. And most importantly NOBODY cares if the clouds don't meet your high expectations. They. Are. Just. Fake. Clouds. But that's just my opinion.
Nice one and by the way, I am fairly newb at this too, but it's all good fun and it makes for a more interesting team I think!
So: - The killstreaks are definitely not controllable: Here's the list: Airstrike (Other than perhaps selecting a point on the map to bomb this will definitely not be controllable) Bomber (Same as airstrike) Assistant Drone (It wouldn't be an assistant drone if you had to sit down some where and controll it for it to work) Auto-Turret (It has auto in the name, what more needs to be said?) EMP (...) Recon Helicopter (...) - How is the class system considered a good thing? All it means is that: Weapons are now restricted to classes, you can't chose whatever you want Long time players have an advantage over new players, since they will have more active & passive abilities unlocked. Their stats will simply be better. This is kind of like how in Battlefield 3 new players had to unlock flairs and heat seeking missiles for their jets. It was bullshit. - Clan/Party/Squads/etc. are great... but only for the people who use that stuff. (In other words: probably most people in this thread) - Dynamic maps If by chaning weather you mean the terrible fog on that one map then I can't say I'm impressed. Fog is clearly not a strong point of this graphics engine => don't make it a big part of your level, gameloft. Please. minor improvements (the biggest probably being the radar). Is that supposed to be something special? Sounds more like an excuse to me.
I have an idea for you. If you don't like the game, don't buy it. Alternatively you could try to get gameloft to let you re-code a copy and you can add all the features you want. Or you could just buy the game and not complain. Even if you don't stop complaining can you do it a little less spitefully? Your choice.
You knew what I meant. Who knows how they will play out thats something we will find out when the game launches, but you wanted changes and new features right? Anyone can start their squad and its simple. Its really similar to clash of clans. No doubt everyone will have their squads. Huge feature The fog goes away and comes back. There is a whole different area indoors of that map where there is no fog as well. And what about the other maps? Small changes are appreciated like you said. Plus what about the other ones I listed? Tons of changes, and thats what you wantes right? How is it not? probably is, who really knows. But it makes sense and Gameloft is really consistent when it comes to updates. Now you're just looking for excuses to troll. Stop trolling around and let us enjoy the game please.
This has nothing to do with the developer. I'm just saying that you are making a whole lot of judgements about a game you haven't even played. And there is nothing wrong with saying something like, "I wish there was..." once or twice but you are dissecting every bit of this game. You have the right to, and I even encourage you to criticize the game AFTER YOU PLAY IT. It will make the next one better, but you have no idea how it feels when playing the game. Also, nobody is going to take you seriously if you act like a child when criticizing a game, just a word of advise.
Not trying to bash you but some of those features such as the knife button and hold for semi-auto were introduced in MC3, then taken out in MC4. Watching the stream I noticed that the pistol showcased had a very fast fire rate for a pistol, aswell as a decently sized magazine. In the sniper skill tree one of the upgrades is 35% more pistol damage, and it makes me think there may be a possibility of fairly "OP" pistols, something which I don't think has ever happened in MC games before. In regards to the lack of quickscoping, I am torn. It seems like sniper rifles have been progressively nerfed, starting with the super-amazing M40A5 with the 30% damage perk in MC2 (many players, including myself, almost exclusively used that gun, going all the way to rank 72 with it.) In MC3 quickscoping was still very doable, although there were only 2 sniper rifles and the intervention was the only one that didn't suck. I didn't snipe often in MC4, however when I did it seemed pretty easy to do, and in a couple montages I saw people were able to bypass the bolt cycling time by using the sprint cancel trick. IMO, if they just removed this then the sniper rifles would've been a lot more balanced. I've played BF4, where Sniper rifles only kill in one shot to the head. The reason it works in that game is because the maps are so big and there is a lot of verticality that it is possible to shoot at people hundreds of meters away. The maps don't looks that big from what I've seen in this game, which means if you're trying to snipe and you see a guy, then you're probably in the range of his assualt rifle or even possibly his SMG. This scenario may lead to an underpowered sniper class, however I will wait to reserve judgement until I play the game. @Gameloft_Ryan If you could please answer this question that would be great, I asked it multiple times on the Dev stream but I guess no one saw the question. I noticed some of the later skills on the skill tree cost a lot of points, and the devs did mention that there are only 100 levels, with one skill point awarded each level. Will it be possibly to prestige your character like in MC4 in order to level up again and gain more skill points to fully upgrade each class?
In fact I did read that post but I wasn't referring to it in my pervious comment. My argument is solely that you have not played the game. Sure you can complain about the clouds. I'm sorry they offended you. However, you cannot definitively make any judgments about kill streaks, gun balancing etc. You simply don't know how the game plays yet, and therefore can't criticize it in that respect.
Ref TA Squad. NB. For anyone that was around for the discussion about squads in the thread last week sometime, I don't have all your usernames. Go here http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=236300 And put in your GC id for the team squads thing please. I know some put in their usernames earlier in the thread but I've an awful memory (and a little bit lazy to go searching back) so I'd love it if you guys that are genuinely interested would put your GC id in that linked thread. I also don't want to leave anyone out as there is definitely some solid decent people here that I want on a squad and I'd hate to leave them out just because I haven't gone back through a huge thread. Cheers. And thanks Oscar for starting that thread and editing the first post as it grows, nice work.
Well, I mean, seriously, you're adding nothing to the thread. We've hit the point in the pre-release cycle of the game where all the information that's going to be made public prior to the release save maybe a release trailer that arrives a day early has probably been released. We're just endlessly circle jerking now between "This game is so disappointing!" and "No it's not, it's actually pretty cool!" Buy it or don't buy it, all you're doing is perpetuating some weird argument that's going on for pages and pages now about how you're personally disappointed in Gameloft because reasons. We get it. It's not Killzone or whatever Vita game you were posting about. No one else cares.
Yeah its really a shame that we cant quick scope anymore >.< I highly encourage them to patch in quick scoping in the future.
