Thanks, that will probably mean worst case needing around 3.6 gig free. Is it true that some multiplayer components are only downloaded if you play MP? So the initial install is smaller? Also didn't realise it was you playing the game on bnates footage, assumed he had a copy to play on...
Does the MP make use of the credits like in MC4? Where you have to earn them to unlock guns? Or do you just unlock them as soon as you meet a level requirement? And good job removing IAPs, you took your time with that.
No credits. You unlock stuff by leveling up and completing challenges. If you would like, I can make the thread tomorrow and you can start up the squad when the game launches . I feel kinda bad leaving you to handle everything hahah
That's my understanding of the way the downloading will work. I haven't gotten to experience it yet, since I always get the full test build. Also, yeah that was me xD. We haven't given out early copies of the game to date. No credits. As you get kills, level up, and use different gear/attachements you'll work towards unlocking the better stuff. I definitely prefer this method as a player!
Jeez, that was a wicked harsh demotion. You just got "Eli'D". (that will be a "thing", if its not already) He is the editor in chief of the site and the administrator of the forum. (Same thing I suppose really in a roundabout way) (I think I just got "Eli'D" and "tahzblade'D" at the same time, oh well) An official Ryan endorsement. Cool. (Edit. Aahhhh, a bit of humour goes a long way)
Seriously? Just 4 maps? That's way too low for a game that has the most appeal in it's multiplayer! Hey Ryan, how often can we expect new maps to be added in?
So are the weapons attachments unlocked solely by the amount of kills you get with that weapon, or by some sort of weapon XP or other challenge? @Gameloft_Ryan Also, based on personal experiance, I think you should forward the idea to the Dev teams about working hard in new maps. MC3 and MC4 got new maps but it took many, many months for that to happen. If new maps don't come out in the couple of months after the release then there will be a lot of backlash.
New maps are already well in to development. Attachments and weapons are unlocked through the xp earned in each class for that class. It's not just by kills alone but obviously it is tied to kills, types of kills (headshots, explosives, quick kills etc.), achievements, goal completions, campaign missions and so on and so forth. Plus time limited events, daily/weekly, will reward with weapons and attachments.
No worries, you're welcome. A range of updates, no specifics on what they contain but I'd imagine most of it would be obvious enough, are either in process or advanced planning so new content along with tweaks and the usual won't be a problem and should be consistent. Its worth noting not to expect one in the first month of release, the focus will be in certain other areas that only show up on a full release (servers for example) while also finishing off the first content update which will take a bit of time. But plenty seems to be in process and plenty planned that I think will fall in with the kind of timescale you're hoping for.
I haven't received a timeline on updates since the game hasn't even launched yet. I'm sure the team will be hard at work though after the game is live to get features and maps they are interested in out and in the hands of the community. There are weapon and attachment XP. Also, based on the feedback from the stream today I'm pretty sure they are aware that folks are looking for more than 4 maps.
While I don't care for mobile graphics (if it looks decent, that's fine by me), I do know that the hardware powering the PS Vita and iPhone 5 (base model, not the 5S) is virtually identical. On the other hand, the MC series has always been a well-optimized 60FPS-runner on handheld devices, while Killzone: Mercenary runs at a capped 30 (and stutters frequently), not unlike the differences between say, Call of Duty and Killzone on consoles. My point is, take what you will. If you're going to judge what very well seems to be a good game at face value, then maybe you should look for a different hobby for your tastes, like going to art museums.
