Yes, a device from 2011 with a much smaller install base meaning less game sales and therefore less money earned from making a game for it. (Selling a game at a high price with low sales on the Vita vs selling a game at a low price with massive ammounts of sales on mobile platforms) With mobile phones & tablets being always up to date shoudln't games look better on them? And those big advancements don't seem to have changed all that much. I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy MC5, it'll most definitely be fun and worth its price, I'm saying that it doesn't seem like much of an improvement over previous games. If you're fine with that, great.
iOS has a larger install base than consoles, so iOS is a better gaming platform? Devs have better access to Vita's power because it was developed for games. iOS really only has a bit more power than gaming devices from 2 generations ago You're expecting too much.
I'll get on that once it releases and the create squad method becomes clearer. There'll be a thread in the "add me" section so that multi groups can create multi teams. I'll just create a team and invite people to join it. At least I'd imagine that's the method. I've a pretty good idea who I'll be adding to my team already. We will need more though. But it's not gonna be one of those "you need k/d ratio of..." Or any of that elitist rubbish, you'll just need to be fun and a team player. Might need some cannon fodder as well. (I kid of course)
Awesome! I'd recommend to start it before the game releases, so that it won't get in the way and we'll be be able to jump into games asap! Just get a max of 20 people
He asked for something quite simple: improvements. There are only three real improvements for MC5: better graphics, better single player campaign and the squad thing. The game didn't add any other things for the gameplay (and don't tell me there aren't things to add because there are), not even higher number of players. Heck, the game will be released with even less content than the previous games: less maps and less game modes, and none of the game modes are new, and like Der-Kleine said maps still look as boring as in MC4. Everyone who played MC4 and MC3 can say that MC3's maps were way more memorable than MC4's, and this seems to be the same case. I think that Eli's comment makes clear what happens: this series just turned into FIFA. No real improvements for the new installments, nada. Just updated graphics and some very little things. But hey, game's funny, so we don't care to pay for the same thing again. Jeez, if it were for some people here we'd still be in Stone Age!
I'd guess it won't work till it releases and people have the game installed. What we could do is those that are interested, add me up on gamecenter, same username as here and I'll look for ye when the game is out and add ye to the squad I set up. Be sure and put in your username from here on the GC request so that I know who it is. Note, if you were on my GC before, add me again because I had to reset my previous GC because of some beta test stuff.
If you look at the posts, he focused graphical improvements and he made a strange iOS vs Vita comparison. The graphics are definitely a step up from previous iOS games. We have no clue how the gameplay will play out. They only had a lobby with half of the amount of players. Its a sequel. Not a new IP. Ofc mc2&3 maps are memorable, theyre classics. Does that make them better? Ofc not. Its just how our metality of games works, the classics are always the best. But if we just recycled everything, we'd be in the stone age. Like I said, you're expecting too much. Eli is right. I'm gone. Duces!
I'd like to join the squad too. Gamecenter just like my name here. Can't wait to get it when it releases! Waited so long for it.
I hope you enjoy this massive graphical improvement, that SSAO really made this scene look much better. Having volumetric fog rather than this BS would totally have not been a better use of resources. (Ambient Occlusion takes a ton of processing power) And FYI I did complain about there still not being controllable killstreaks a few pages back. Plus the graphical/level design improvements I suggested would probably help make maps more memorable and less confusing, since by not having everything look exactly the same the player would get a better idea of where he (for example) just spawned. MC4 was a mess compared to MC3 in that respect, and MC5 doesn't look like it's improving that either. Sequels have improved the map designs and features in other game franchises, why do you think Modern Combat shouldn't? I'm pretty sure Call of Duty didn't have controllable killstreaks at first either. ---- For those that missed the multiplayer stream, here it is: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Oh and I can't help but notice the ammount of lag during the matches shown in that stream. Players are literally teleporting around at some points.
I know it's a stupid picky thing but why can you be on a red team? It triped me up when I started playing MC4 and was hoping they would fix the issue in MC5 for new players. However, this appears to be untrue. It's dumb but I have to complain about it; after all this is the Internet. ... Also the gun names are all wrong! JK
Maybe make the thread and just add people that will definitely get it on day one for now. We'll add more people as the game gets closer to launch/launches On the main post just put people's TA name and their in-game username next to it. Plus this thread will get cluttered lol
BF commander did come out for iPad some time ago, i think it works well but I suck as a commander so I don't know. One thing that is wierd about the app is if you leave it open in the background of the iPad it still logs you in as playing the game, ans adds time to your playing time in BF4. I played commander for 15 minutes, but my stats in battlelog gave me an extra 30 hours played. On the subject of battlefield, I think gameloft has tried to make the switch from cod like games to battlefield. When watching the Livestream there were many things that, at least to me, seemed like ideas taken from the battlefield games. Also, is the squads run through gamecenter? Please reserve me a spot in the TA squad
Never understood why we didn't get iPhone version of it and I suppose unless you play the game you won't be a lot of help as a commander, I wouldn't like some spoilt kid with an iPad that knows nothing logging in and doing whatever they like. Anyway back on topic, I'll still pick this up day 1 I rarely spend lately. Only looking forward to this and 1 other game at the minute and the other is going to be 69p which is stupidly cheap.
Okay, I'll go with that. I'll put up a thread in "add me" and link it here. Won't be today but I'll post link when I get to it.
Ditto, haven't been this excited for a game since oceanhorn, which I didn't manage to get on day 1. This next 10 days is gonna be long... I am already checking to see if there is enough space on my iPad! On that note, anyone know the install size? (I think it was mentioned a couple of pages back). I will be downloading straight onto my iPad, and wondering how much space I'll need.
There is a sprint button. The Devs had Auto-Sprint enabled so it didn't show up on the UI. I don't know the prices for any region besides the US right now. Also, Rip is a cool dude I can confirm! That's the footage I recorded from the latest build I have. It's the same build we used when Jared stopped by our office and did the MP stuff. Most of the time that I've played MC5 I've had the best grip attached, hence the lack of recoil. When you first start out, IMO, the recoil is more apparent. Just remember, all of these high end things will not be available at the start. You'll need to level up and unlock the various attachments, weapons, etc.. I got REKT. You forgot to mention that the Devs confirmed more will be coming with updates. The initial download is 800MB (or somewhere close to that). I'm done downloading the full test build and it's sitting at 1.8 gigs.
