Wow the game looks awesome!!! Its hard to believe that its playable on a phone. They really did an amazing job with the level design
No pleasing some people... So who's up for starting the official TA Squad thread? We are gonna have to have someway to organise it (if more than 20 wanna be a part of it )
Game doesn't look that bad, but I'm pretty dissaspointed there's only 4 maps and the killstreaks are preset, and there are only 2 presets available.
Lol there were so many kids in the twitch stream. I am a little disappointed that there will only be 4 maps at launch though :/ I wonder what will be the gap till the next update
Perhaps this screenshot comparison will help explain my point: Which of these two corridors looks less dull? vs. Which of these two fairly open areas looks like more effort was put in to it to make it stand out from the rest of the map? vs. In which of these two interiors do the objects look like they have some kind of a purpose (In which of these two screenshots does the FOV suck less?) vs. Which of these two areas looks more like somewhere where a battle has/is taking place? vs. I hope I've got my point across about the personality and variety of a map.
Killzone Mercenary for the PS Vita. And just as a reminder: MC3 looked like this three years ago on a device with a fraction of the power of today's iDevices.
I'd very much encourage anyone reading this thread to not get wound up in negativity towards this game. Everyone who has played it has enjoyed it. You're going to have fun playing it if you like multiplayer first person shooters. Don't spend this next week convincing yourself that you won't based on over-analyzing video screen captures and other crazy stuff.
Come back to me with a comparison that is platform specific and we will have something to talk about. I don't believe making comparisons between multi platform to be that relevant as they are not exactly like for like devices or games. I would imagine that with the beta testing you've done, you'd understand how such comparisons are some what irrelevant and lack the appropriate context. That's not personal, I just see comparing vita to console to iOS to just not be a valid comparison due to the design nature of each device and game. Sorry. And again, ultimately to agree with Eli above, I think it looks like a lot of fun and that canal map looks like a standout.
Luckily I haven't over hyped myself as I'm actually more hyped for Micromon but that's just a personal choice. But I'll still be picking this game up but I'll likely complete single player before dropping in on multiplayer to try and get some practice in. If it's as fun as you say I'll be spending a lot of time on this game online. One thing I remember being seriously gutted about was the BF commander control app for IPad only, did that ever come out and do much? Always loved being the commander on BF usually won all the games I did that in.
The fact that everyone who has played it has loved it, is enough for this to be an instabuy for me. There's no IAPS, so it's also cool to support the premium games. The multiplayer maps look good IMO. There's a lot of detail and they are designed for each class. There are multiple stories for snipers and lots of open space (but not empty space) for combat. It looks great. Comparing iOS games to Vita games is irrelevant because they're completely different. This game looks great and is the latest installment in the best FPS for iOS. Seems like the it'll be the best FPS for iPhone.
I think it's obvious that MC5 will be at least as fun as previous Modern Combat games, it's not like they suddenly removed everything, my point is that this doesn't seem like much of an improvement over a game from three years ago in a time where the processing power of mobile devices is increasing exponentially. tl;dr: It's fun, because previous games already managed to be fun, but does it go further than what previous entries to the series already achieved?
That is a vita game. Yes, and obviously MC5 is way more advanced To those who are on the edge of buying this: Just buy it. A lot of people turn into drama queens when Gameloft releases a game. Just focus on articles and reviews
