What I mean is that this doesn't seem to be the kind of evolution the rest of the games had. MC2 to MC3 and MC3 to MC4. They all added new things, like being able to sprint in MC3 or jumping over obstacles in MC4, or some other things like a whole new way to customize weapons, in MC4 too. I'm totally serious when I say that I've yet to see something new in that matter. I wouldn't count the new grenade as a huge improvement. And I know that we're talking about a "basic" FPS. I know that they can't suddenly turn this into Metroid or something like that, but there are still plenty of things they can add that some other war FPS games have, like proning.
So how many game modes? Are games going to be short like mc4? I really didn't like domination and other score cap was way too low compare to mh3
Sequels tend to become less "evolutionary" over time because once devs finds their game's sweet spot, they usually stick with that and make improvements from there 4 CTF, Battle, Team battle, VIP (and squad mode). They took out the least popular ones and minimized the playlist so that each gamemode won't be as empty as in previous games. But I am a little bit sad that Zone Control is gone
I don't know then really. I'm sure lots of things were experimented with, it has been in development for roughly two years, but I suppose as Oscar suggested, perhaps they just found the sweet spot and are sticking with it. For me, I've seen enough different aspects in it to distinguish it from the others but keeping with the, let's say, personality of the series itself. Evolutionary, yes, but I don't think that's such a bad thing really. As long as the basic gameplay elements are as strong as the rest of the series (and NOVA 3 to include this particular studios previous one that was indeed very good), it'll still be an excellent addition and getting those elements right is the part that really matters. From what I've seen, that seems to be the case but we will just have to wait and see. Updates. Its unconfirmed what will be coming in updates but modes in multiplayer with zone control being one of the potentials is indicated. Don't take that as a definite as these things are subject to change but I'm pretty sure theres a strong possibility of it getting in there in the future.
Yeah I'm bummed too, but the community has already reacted to this negatively so I can't see why they wouldn't add it in a future update. ohh yes, after the changes at Gameloft they've really been pushing out updates like theres no tomorrow. I can't wait to see what they bring to MC5 in the future
Well deff not day one for me. I will wait out until they add zone control. That's what I played the most in mc3
I'll buy right away, simply because I never really give any other fps a proper shot on iOS. I tried but missed my mouse too much and dislike any gyro controls. It was just far easier for me to run, jump and shoot ect with a keyboard and mouse and trying without always seems like a downgrade.
Well its always going to be a downgrade from PC, but at the same time its a mobile game. Sit on the couch, watch some TV, play some MC5. Or my personal favorite: waiting for someone in your household to get ready while you've been ready, just kill some time with MC5 No doubt Gameloft offers the best controls for a touch screen though. And they've even added more options this time around. Auto-fire, auto-sprint, and auto-cover Anyways, really looking forward to playing some matches with you guys. If Eli ends up streaming some multiplayer at launch, lets hop on and some games with him
Really? I was thinking it would be a disadvantage. You cant pre-fire and you have to keep your crosshairs directly on them, so strafing would be harder since your gun will continuously stop firing and your spread wont be as effective. Plus you need the crosshairs on them for a couple of split seconds before the gun will start firing. I think it'll be a good option for rookies.
What about accidental kills? Some camper is around the corner, I miss him and he kills me without even trying because his crosshair happened to be pointing at me right in the middle of the screen with a shotgun. Honestly, I hope it's at least off by default but knowing Gameloft it won't be. And, can you imagine how easy this will be for knifers? Run around with their hacks with auto-fire on, noobs spamming grenades, noobtubers. Trust me, it will suck. Unless, auto fire has a 200ms delay.
Haven't followed the thread closely but anyone know more info about the classes and their differences or isn't much info out yet?
I'm sure someone else could provide a big more details, but in this post is a general overview of the classes. http://blog.gameloft.com/index.php/2014/05/08/modern-combat-5-class-is-in-session/
So usually on these games I like to play as a sniper like on BF and AvP but wondering if maps are big enough here to play like that? Or is it all crowded with nowhere to hide ect?
Well I know for a fact that the maps will be nowhere near as big as in BF, but there probably will be a couple of maps with very long sight lines that will let you snipe.
Yeah, now its easier for the new players to play. It takes a while to realize "ok, youre definitely aiming at someone, pewpewpew". Its not like in archetype where the gun instantly fires upon aiming at someone. it won't mess up my gameplay if it is in multiplayer, I'm pretty good when it comes to iOS FPS controls. They'll stand no chance against me
please am a Nigerian and honestly I have played mc3 and 4 and still anticipating mc5 I almost thought it would be offline or atleast could be played offline but unfortunate me it is online. lssue with this whr I am(Nigeria) is bad network and little WiFi hotspots so on behalf of Nigerians and others around the world pls make it with both offline and online capabilities..p.s I really want to play story mode without internet connection..
@Gameloft_Ryan Maybe you could try to implement a system where you could play the campaign offline but doing so would turn off the unified progression while offline.
