Yeah, iOS 7 on A5 devices is horrible. It makes me wish I could downgrade my iPod 5 to iOS 6 again. For example, when iOS 6 was out, the gameloft symbol would load for MC4, but with iOS 7, it doesn't.. It drove me to think my game was broken and I deleted it for a good while. But it does work, and you're even more right about GTA. San Andreas crashes a lot with iOS 7. It sucks Apple didn't give us that period of time to downgrade to iOS 6. I'm hoping iOS 8 doesn't do any worst than iOS 7 in means of performance.
You can probably count me in too. It would also be awesome if we could get all of the players from the MC3 days too, although most of them you already mentioned.
Just getting excited Also I think I will need a lot of practise. Just had a quick go on MC4 and was pathetic! I can't remember any of the maps, and my button layout just doesn't feel right. Died 8 times and killed 0
Today i played modern combat 4(ong time not playing it) and WOW WOW WOW, people didnt stop throwing grenades, always killing with grenades, never using their guns... what the f...?? is this a shooter or what?? were few the bullets i saw on that game. I hope gameloft limit the grenades or quit their from the game... seriously, in mc4 are people who only kill with grenades but when they dont have more and use their gun, they literally suck, they dont have good skills
Yeah mc4 really suffered from explosive issues hahah. Probably the main reason I never got into it as much as the others.
Biggest issue with mc4 was no real rewards for levelling up at all as well as it was too easy. Still think back in MC2/MC3 days were best tho. So much fun playing Ctf in mc2 with golden ak Also nukes in mc3 was fantastic
Hey was just wondering if you guys had seen the latest images post on modern combat Facebook page. Doesn't really give any useful info that I care about but still...
Ouch... This really worries me There should not be on impact instant kill grenade and concussion grenades should not deal enough damage to kill someone. *sigh*
I wouldn't worry about them too much. They are after all just doing what they are designed to in reality. Plus, notice they have a range of effect so there will be no shame in running away from a throw grenade, just as one should do, in order to reduce the effect. Also, its worth noting, you will have limited grenade supplies so it won't be a case of having unlimited killing power with them. I don't know the exact number but it'll be two or three max (two seems more likely) from what I've seem so far. Plus the timer grenade gives you the opportunity to throw it back and as long as the concussive one or nail one doesn't land directly on you (and you do get a warning of a thrown grenade which gives the opportunity to run), you'll just be injured. Overall, they will add to the tactics but due to limited carrying capacity and ranged effect, they won't give an opportunity to dominate with them. You'll just have to be careful. Which is exactly what you should be in any kind of ranged combat. If they had less effect, it'd be somewhat pointless to have them in there at all. I haven't see any grenade launcher weapons either like in MC4. So no more six rounds grenade launchers which were unbalancing in the last one. There is of course RPG's but again ammo is limited. They'll still kill you if they hit you, which they should and would in the real world, but they won't give the ability to spam explosions at the opposite team and one will need to choose their opportunity well to use them and not waste them because of limited ammo. It's just all a bit more tactical. Obviously a bit more dangerous because these explosions will damage you greatly if they hit you, but they will have to hit you directly. It's just more realism in reality. I do believe there will be a flak jacket of some description but I'm not too sure if it'll be class dependant only, relate to explosives or just to bullets.
See the problem though is not someone being able to dominate with grenades, the problem is for the skill players that are on a kill streak, then you get into a mid to close range battle and someone decides to mindlessly lob a grenade at you, killing you because it explodes on impact. And it all happens in a blink of an eye The warning doesn't become useful when a grenade is an explode on impact grenade. I really only notice the warning when its a timed grenade, giving me the opportunity to run. Realism is not always fun. Its a game and I'm just hoping to have a fun competitive expirence. Making something OP because its more realistic, is not the way to go I do not have a problem with the timer grenades, those are fair as you have an opportunity to run. Im worried about the instant kill/impact grenades. Concussion grenades should not be able to kill someone, it should just be able to stun. And that is a useful trait for a grenade to have. Making it also deal enough damage to kill someone is just not a good balance. They even doubled the damage that they did in MC4, and in MC4 there were endless complaints about them being OP. Now theyre back and stronger than ever. They work fantastic in COD for comparison sake and they're not OP. Same goes for the nail grenade They seem too powerful to be in the game. I am just not comfortable with it. They should've just left it out or atleast make it so that it almost kills someone. So that you're sacrificing damage for explosion time. Dodging is not really an option. The speed of which the player moves in MC4 & 5 isnt too useful in dodging anymore. Sure at times you'll be able to almost get hit, but most of the time you'll just get hit. Butterflying was big in MC2 and 3. And it was practically the only reason why people wouldn't die all the time from the grenade spam, because you were able to dodge quick enough. And considering the low tick-rate that this game has, the person who throws the grenade has an advantage already. MC4 suffered from these issues, and it seems like they're making a return. I really like Gameloft and I hope they address these issues. Or I hope they're not what I am expecting :/ IMO they should've just had a frag grenade (high explosive damage and timed), flash (blinds players on impact), concussion (stuns player on impact and does a tiny bit of damage), emp grenade (disables/breaks devices) Please ryan, if you're reading this make a note to the devs if possible. I would greatly appreciate it.
Those characters look generic as hell,A white guy, black guy and a girl. This is a trite formula done million times over.I'll be surprised if they manage anything else other than a very generic campaign with this setup.Good set pieces are my only hope,Mc4 had none of them it just boiled down to entering a room full of enemies and strafe and shoot no thrill nothing,The later stages were the same thing apart from throwing more enemies at you.Level design has never been a strong point of GL but atleast they can try,A.I is another thing that's very important having 4-5 clever enemies which can flank you, throw grenades to dish you out,Have actual reaction to sight and sound. Also destructible cover will add much needed tension and strategy to combat, but I don't think it's going to be there. A.I has been poor for a long time in whole of gaming for a long time only a few a games like far cry and crysis have actual good a.i every other game relies heavily on heavy scripting.Hopefully scripting will be a lot better this time. I just hope Voice acting is decent and they hired some quality professionals atleast for the main characters.Characters should be most importantly intelligent and interesting otherwise I don't won't care much about the whole storytelling thing all that much.
Did they fix the close-range knifing? I'm getting tired of the character pulling it out late, or the icon not popping up, causing the person to run around you and kill. There's also the problem where you knIfe and it complete misses, causing an annoying knife battle until one finally kills the other. I've also had problems where people shoot through obstacles, the character also doesn't crouch low enough to take cover, it should be an automated system where you take cover behind the nearest wall. (I.E. Gta games)
