Final stand being put in? I wonder how this is gonna work out...and destructible environments? Awesome! I can't believe they were working on it before 4 was finished though,odd...

Even more impressive: all that was running realtime at a solid framerate throughout.

Character models and environments are a huge step up. Blood effects still look terrible. Destructible environments? Give me bullet penetration and I'm happy!

Happy that the color palate isn't that washed out look that MC4 had.

I don't see any destructible environments in the videos?

There is some element of it in the videos around the part where the first radar enhancer is thrown and he starts shooting at the concealed enemies with the outline around them.

Its very little though and barely noticeable.

But bear in mind it is a brand new engine with destructible environments built in and that the build is very much work in progress alpha stage and a very limited view of what you'll get in the end.

It'll get a lot more enhanced as more shows closer to release, which is a Q4.
Oct, Nov or Dec seems a long way away but I think it'll be worth the wait.

Its worth noting as well that its the Bucharest studio taking lead on this one, rather than Montreal the last couple of times, so there will be substantial visual/thematic differences between 4 and 5 along with the new engine that should see dramatic performance improvements or so I'd assume.

I m a bit concerned about the fact that its gameloft bucharest who is developping this...its in romania i think! i dont know how they perform..... do someone know one of their game that can help me have an idea?? but i guess gameloft would not put their most popular franchise in rookies hands!! and so far i m not disapointed.

    They are not rookies.
They actually do a lot that is not publicised per se.
Think engines for one. Think lots of new stuff that goes on in the background. And contributions to many other recent releases and updates and forthcoming stuff.
Lots of Gamelofts studios contribute in different ways on the various projects even if one does the majority of the production and coordination.
They do have locations in 16 different countries around the world after all, from Mexico to Vietnam and in between.
You have nothing to worry about. Or even consider worrying about.

Very impressive. That's an entirely new engine, you say? If I hadn't just watched several vids of it running in realtime at a stable framerate I'd be very concerned about performance.

I was hoping for just ballistics/bullet penetration, but destructible environments are taking it to a whole new level. Hopefully the AI will be worked on, as well as level design. I found those two quite lacking for MC4 and 3.

The environmental damage should carry over to MP. That'd make for some subtle but profound gameplay changes.

Bear in mind all the videos are on iPad 4.
I'm not implying anything with that now but it is worth noting.

And the level of how destructible the environments will be is not clear yet and will be very much device dependant.

Movements and character rendering and reaction are a huge step up also.

After seeing those gameplay pics on NexyPL's channel now I'm 100% sure iPod is too old. Those graphics look SICK.

There's a reason ragdolls and particle effects are client-side. Can you imagine just how difficult it'd be to render environments crumbling like that? Sure, Battlefield 3 can do it, but on consoles the player count has been reduced to allow smaller maps to be cached. I can see the iPhone and iPad struggling with those technologies with 6v6 multiplayer.

-The engine has been entirely reworked.
-Missions are very varied: Stealth, Railshooter, vehicules (tanks...) that you can control
-The demo runs on an ipad 4
-The single player campaing will be as long as the campaign found in MC4
    -Multiplayer info revealed very soon

A fun screenshot from the game:

If they want the game to be really Succesful they should have an approach to situations like Crysis and Far Cry offer, stealth, Full on assault and anything in between.
