Honestly, I don't understand the complaining. I think it looks great. Also, it is a demo version to Rip said, so you may not be seeing the full thing. But I'm satisfied and plan on buying and enjoying it.
i'm planing to get the game as well but still i'm kinda disappointed. i know at this point complaining isn't gonna change anything but it always feels good to let it out. bitching is completely legit as long as its done in a respectful way!!
Not to worried about the graphics. But I hope the single player is offline. And if you read the article from today or yesterday on the home page there are going to be some side missions? Something like spec ops from modern combat 2 would be cool. Never the less I'm excited for it. Just because.
The gameplay video really destroyed my hype for the game. It looks like Dead Trigger $ CoD: Strike Zone had a baby, with a little mix of Contract Killer 2. Where's the originality? They reuse the same reload animations, almost all the same guns (excluding pistols), and the bullet control is just.. Weird. The only thing I saw that I liked was bullet penetration in the glass, new running animations, and the customization menu in campaign. Another thing that disappointed me right off the back was the campaign map. It looks like MC5 is built on a freemium premises, but is a premium game. You earn stars for missions now? That is one of the most freemium things Gameloft has ever pulled off with a premium game. Don't get me wrong, the game isn't done, so I can't be so quick to judge, as they could tweak the game in the coming weeks, but as far as I seen.. I'm disappointed, and my hype has been oppressed. I'm still going to buy the game, though. I've waited quite some time for it, so I'll have to play for myself before I can make further judgements.
Basically Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour Part 2 : Blackout ("NOT FREEMUIM BY THE WAY" -quote EA)the menu looks like it WAS a Freemuim game, or it just contains that feature.
Like I said before, mc5 menu and everything looks just like dead trigger! I don't know what happened seriously..
I Like IT!! Looks really cool, similar style to it's other games, and people should look at older Gameloft titles before claiming it's menus copy Dead Trigger. Gameplay looks sweet, graphics are fine for a mobile game, good and solid. Just need a release date now and confirmation it's a premium as opposed to freemium title.
They want casual gamers (90% of mobile users) more than hardcore gamers (10% of mobile users). That's what happened.
Considering Dead Trigger 2 is one of the most graphically superior games on the platform, I fail to see how that would be a bad thing. It would in fact be a sign of how far along the graphics have come and a major step up. As to the spec op missions, it's called "replayability". It'll turn out to be a feature that'll actually add to the long term playability of the game. Not everybody just wants to replay the campaign over again and variety would be an essential part that the spec op missions add in. And at that, you can just play the campaign over again anyway if you want to. I fail to see how that level of variety is anything other than a good thing that adds immensely to it. And if you're talking about the shortness of missions, a series of short missions is still a campaign. Not everybody wants 20 minute long missions or more. In fact the majority don't want that. But for those that do, they are still linked missions, just play moe than one and it equates to the same thing and story progression. The Tokyo missions should have made that clear. There is after all 4 or 5 missions directly linked together in the same storyline progression and environment, they can simply just be played in shorter bursts then continued or just played played in one run. It's just the same mission broken down into 4 or 5 parts that will make it a lot more manageable for the majority of the market but playing them in sequence will be the same as one long mission for everybody else. I fail to see how that is not clear from the videos. Where exactly did you see it look like it was a freemium game or has that feature? It has been stated since very early in development that it would be premium. I see no currency in any of the videos I've seen. All I see is xp that unlocks attachments and weapons with no "buy now" or "purchase" button beside or near them, just an "equip" beside unlocked ones. And if you look at more than one video, you can see stuff unlock as people are playing which they then equip, without having to purchase, in the menu later. I see perks can be upgraded with "SP" (skill points) which, if its along the lines of Gangstar Vegas (and its safe to assume it is), are just earned by completing missions and levelling up. I'm sure all this stuff can be bought early in some store in the game, as it can be with just about any game, but nothing in the videos presents a freemium structure and everything in the videos shows that stuff is earned by gaining xp and completing missions. Buy early iap is not a new thing but it should be perfectly clear if you watch the videos closely that everything can be earned in a very normal progression related way. I'm starting to think people didn't actually watch any of the videos.
Will this be working on the ipod touch 5g? Because ive been getting frame drops ever since the ios 7 release.
In my humble opinion I think we should hold off dismissing this game because of the single player (which I agree, looks horrible..) and wait and see what multiplayer is looking like.. Which, let's be honest, is what the game really is..
I guess. I grew up in Virginia and EST was always 3 hours ahead of West Coast time (PST/PDT/whatever). BTW...Stream starts in about 20 minutes! Come on over to www.twitch.tv/gameloft See you there!
After watching this newest Twitch stream, I am so impressed with this game. The only thing I can complain about is that even though it is freemium, some aspects of the game (always online, the main menu layout,) scream Freemium. Also in the info during the loading screens, all lowercase i's are capitalized. But honestly I think this game is a huge improvement and the latest stream has just confirmed my positive opinions on it!
