Give it time. As more powerful apps are written and requirements go up we will begin to see a gap between the A6 and A7. This is nothing new, we normally don't see the latest chipset flex it's muscles until later in its 12 month lifespan. And as previous generations get more powerful it means the gap between the likes of the A6 and A7 are negligible for now. I own a 5s and iPad 4 and other than some fancy lens flare on IB3 I don't see any performance difference between both devices across most games. The A6 was no slouch and as such it'll remain relevant for longer than the A5 was when Apple moved to the A6. The A7 will have its moments, it's a more "future proof" chipset than an immediate impact chipset.
iOS gaming is so expensive that blows my mind. $500 every year is pretty ridiculous Like honestly MC5 could run solid 30FPS on a6 chips but they probably wouldn't because they want to make newest device to be the main focus here
C'mon man, I used an emote -- it was an obvious joke. You never had that one friend whose uncle "worked at Nintendo" and already had him set up with Super Mario 5? I really didn't expect you all to take it seriously. Then again, we're all dying for news on MC5. If he did, he'd be doing their drywall, not janitorial work.
Awww, man, why didn't you keep it going, now we've nothin to talk about till the next batch of info.... I mean when he is doing the drywall, the least he could do is install some pinhole cameras in the dev studio and stream it online so we could see what the game looks like. Or install some listening devices in the marketing department, so we'd all know early what the release date is. Jeez.
Sorry friend, I've got an outrageous guilt complex. Simple things like accepting expensive gifts make me feel really distraught. I don't like to think of how I'd feel to lie to everyone's hopeful faces. You know what? If he ever does, I'll ask him in advance.
This is a discussion about Modern Combat 5, not how good my uncle is at drywall. To be fair though, he is very talented.
Hey folks - We just announced two new things for MC5. Unified progression through singple player and multiplayer and the four soldier classes that will be in the game. Here's a blog post on it if you want to check out some more info: http://blog.gameloft.com/index.php/2014/05/08/modern-combat-5-class-is-in-session/
Nice! Very interesting leveling system; how one can play the campaign to level up as well. I can't wait to see how the classes play out as well
Hmmm. I'm thinking assault or recon. I ain't very good at camping and I do like to run and gun so it's looking like they will be the best classes for me. Its interesting to see the single and multi linked in that way also. I can see that appealing to a lot of people. And bodes very well for the single player mode being a big improvement.
That basically means perma-connection needed confirmed. I won't say "I'm outta here", but for sure I don't like that at all. I thought we all said bye always-on DRM a long time ago.
Sounds like its gonna be heavily iap'ed. Also this solo-multiplayer "experience" is scary, I hope that you wont have to play some multiplayer to play next singleplayer missions, coming from gameloft it can be very hard without paying. Just my assumption.
Where exactly does it say that? And when exactly did we say good bye to always on drm? When piracy became even more rampant? Or when developers just gave up? Or when we stopped caring about hackers and modifiers? And when exactly did it become a problem for a game with an online multiplayer element as its major feature, to require a connection? Get a decent service provider because they are actually the biggest problem rather than online because a "smartphone" or "tablet" becomes a very stupid phone and a very expensive paperweight without a connection and a lot of apps (proper apps, not just games) become useless without it. Complaining about always online on here. Anybody see the irony? Going online to complain about always online? Somewhat contradictory, no? TA is "always online" and that hasn't stopped people coming online here to complain about always online so obviously people have plenty of online access. Anyway, there's nothing in that post that states always online. You're merely making an assumption based on little or no facts. Plenty of games store equipment offline for use in online multiplayer. And if its a measure that has been integrated and it keeps hackers out of the multiplayer, I'll happily welcome it anyway.
If modern combat campaign will require internet just like the amazing spider man2 , I not going to buy it . Sure I like multiplayer. However, i want my game to be playable off line. Hopefully gameloft will not screw that one up.
