Reflections are nice, smoke and air partices are nothing to talk about really,When an open world game like BS has those.

It will look like that. Quit impressive visiuals I would say, right?! You can find a small clip of the game in one of Gameloft's recent Zaps. Its really arguably the best looking iOS game :D

I wouldn't expect any levolution or BF4 physics. Probably just the havok engine used a bit. So just expect ragdoll, breakable tables, shatterable windows, pots, boxes, etc. But I'm sure there will be plenty of scripted explosions/levolutions in the campaign :)

Remember though, this is not a console game ;) It seems like you are comparing this to console games, which seems a bit silly lol

It was confirmed way way way back that it will be premium :)

I plan on just playing through the campaign once, which will probably be at home. After that I'll just plan on playing multiplayer, which of course will always require an internet connection

Actually they have poor physics even when compared to their mobile counterparts like SG and RR3,Gta san andreas has better physics on mobile than GV,the latter still has scripted explosions and a non existent damage engine,Pretty weak stuff I should say.

  4. Who cares about physics. What about beauty?

Thats a racing game :) its like comparing a shooter to Forza. Just comparing car physics? Racing games focus greatly on car physics.
And yes, rockstar is more experienced with open world games and I'm sure gameloft does not plan on creating an engine focused on open world. Havok is not Gameloft's engine.

This is a thread on Modern Combat, not Gangstar btw...

Personally prefer lower filesizes ! If a games 1.6 gig etc then its time to play 'app juggle' on my phone !

Dont care so much about 'beauty', if the game physics are rubbish then all the 'pretty graphics' count for nothing.

Graphic for mc5 is honestly not that much different from mc4.
Gun recoil is quite weird as well.

I hope the guns actually have a decent ammount of kick to them this time.

WHAT? So because they are releasing many games we can't expect best quality? That is pure bullshit, good company should polish their games to the max, so if we count Gameloft as the biggest mobile games publisher then we can have highest expectations dammit. Right now EA is getting better and better in mobile games, so I hope that it will force GL to step up.

And the second thing - how long will we use phrase "its just a phone" as an excuse? Right now we have San Andreas on our phones, Max Payne 2 is probably right around the corner, PPSSPP emulator can run psp games smoothly, we could easily run COD2(which is 10 times better than MC4), we've got baldurs gate, so I don't think that our devices can't handle more advanced games. If gameloft still will be making crap games("because its only mobile", and people still dont want to expect more from them), then ported games are the only one which we can expect AAA quality.

This thread reminds me of the inane video game arguments that transpired on my grade school bus in 1989.

Back to topic, does anyone know if this game can be run on iPod touch 5, or is it going to be A6+?

Obviously will be supporting A5 device. Then again it doesn't mean it will be stable. It will probably be not that good

It's hard to say to be honest,It may support the a5 devices but will lag or will have very downgraded graphics or like Mc4 it could be that they get around to maybe optimise/polish the game,It's hard to say really it all boils downs to a lazy weekend or a productive one in the end.

    It's not lag. It's a low framerate.

If you can't have a civil discussion it's probably better for you to stick to announcements, release dates, and facts.

    Well...

My post is gone but anyways, do you guys think that MC5 will be able to fill the gap of mobile FPS games?

    Without a doubt.
The missions in campaign will be shorter and smaller but more focused. A side effect of mobile really but not necessarily a bad one as the story seems to be big focus as well.
The shorter missions will probably suit mobile better but it seems as if for the long session player, you will just string them together to get that result.
Multiplayer info is very scant but the bits I've heard say that it is their biggest effort so far ever and the previous standard is pretty high already so that carries its own implication of something very special.

There is a huge buzz about it within Gameloft.
They have a lot invested and riding on it and they believe it surpasses anything they have ever done.

So, too late to say long story short but to get to the point, there is no doubt that it will be the best fps iOS has seen so far.
A bit logical that one really considering Gameloft's track history with that genre but there is a genuine huge buzz and sense of pride and anticipation on the developers side so that kinda means a lot.
