I think medium size perhaps, the maps in MC 2 are too small, particularly for kill em all, I thought the maps in MC 3 where the right size.
Agreed. MC3 had the best maps, and that was because every part of a map had a function. There's nothing memorable in MC4's maps, and that's because most of the time you're searching for enemies instead of shooting. MC2 maps were ok because matches had 10 people and in that game sprinting wasn't as useful as in MC3 and MC4. MC3 had 12 players in one single match, and the size of the maps couldn't be better, but MC4 had the same number of players and the size of the maps was something between MC3 and Nova 3. Even making sprinting infinite and jumping over obstacles didn't help.
MC3 will forever be the best Modern Combat. No doubt about it, it will always remain superior of all the entries to the series. I wish Gameloft cared enough to update it with widescreen support for iPod/iPhone 5, and iOS 7 support.
MC4 use to be fun until they added more noobtubes and the Compakt. The Meltdown update was kinda okay.. The maps are too huge, though. The multiplayer IS boring, too. NOVA was worst, but MC4 wasn't that slow. The Meltdown update could've at least added maps back from the classics like Avalanche & Recon. The game would be way more enjoyable and feel like the good ole' classic Modern Combats.
Gameloft recently announced that it will be delayed until early 2014, as they are adding and refining details
If you ignore cheaters and hackers, I would place MC4 as a great online game though you are slightly limited with the touch controls, NOVA 3 I never played much because there was way too much online lag for me in the UK to play and hit anyone especially with the rain style weapons, multi was a little too big for nova 3. Never played MC3, skipped it after owning 1 and 2. I agree with noob tubers though, I have been playing online again lately last week and a lot of the time someone would just sprint around the map and insta kill you with grenade launchers (I think, it was some kind of explosion) and they were hard to avoid. Delays to MC4 is alright IMO, lots of good games out right now and I am hoping that Gameloft are looking at the new controller API so we can HDMI out to a tv and play the game that way.
I was thinking that. Why would you wanna HDMI MC to a TV when you can have waaay better experience with CoD/BF. To me iOS games should stay mobile but whatever floats your boat
Actually MC4 has far superior hacker protection than MC3. While playing MC3 towards the end, very other player was a hacker. In MC4, I've come across about 10 in total after 100's of hours of play and each one that gets reported, if they turn out to be a hacker, they are perma banned. As with all online stuff, hackers will always find a way, but MC4 is easily the most secure they've ever done. They are very proactive in banning and blocking hacks on the server side. Of course, there are some, but if you actually report them, they won't be there for long. So basically, if you come across them, definitely report them. It'll not only lead to a ban for that cheater but it'll also help Gameloft identify the exploit and block it on the server side and then the hacker won't be able to access it at all.
MC3 was a hack feast. GL even released a minor update with some little content and better security, and something like the next week, again a hack feast, with people without reloading (infinite ammo, just think what would happen with the damn noobtube), stupid speed and some with instant nuke. Some days before (or after, I don't quite remember) they released another update that actually got ride of hackers. Then Nova 3 also had hackers. People with rocket launchers with HIGH rate of fire and, again, without reloading, but they were very few (nothing like the at-least-one-hacker-per-match from MC3). An update got ride of them. With MC4 I have yet to see a single hacker. I think this clearly shows that GL does care about hackers. A lot of cries and complaints were needed to make GL update MC3 (I'm talking about the first update), and that took more than half a year. That wasn't the case with Nova 3, and now in MC4 if you happen to find a hacker you can even report it. GL improved quite a lot as a company.
very true but I don't own any cod games on console and the only battlefield I was able to get into much was bad company 2. With how mobile power is growing so fast and the next generation of consoles and games being rather full priced and expensive for a while it's a nice option to play on iOS for a lower price point, if you already own an iphone or ipad that is.
