What are we looking at here? Spawn killing with knife? You were playing FFA there, right? Also, what's your setup to record if you don't mind me asking? Okay, so I've decided to start from scratch. I forgot how irritating Roux can be. The constant nagging to do the breaching missions which are themselves a pain is exhausting. Shut up Roux!!! The upside as Jibba said is that I can max out my favorite class right away by spending points on upgrades and using it as much as possible in story mode because I know I'm a Recon kind of guy. I started playing MC4 after it had been released a while so I can't tell whether GL has just seriously dropped the ball with MC5 or if there were as many issues when MC4 was released. Does anyone remember?
Well, MC4 had some balance problems at the start, like the sooooooo OP knife (jeez, I won some matches at the start just by knifing since my weapon was sh!t), but nothing really serious. I don't remember any problems with the respawn locations.
One thing they did right with MC4 is respawning. There were some hiccups here and there but mostly when a team reached certain spawn locations the other team started spawning at the other side of the map.
That was recorded with Nvidia ShadowPlay. (Being able to record anything anywhere with just a swipe and three taps is pretty awesome, although ShadowPlay on the shield tablet does have some pretty stupid issues that I hope get fixed.) I also just played Killzone Mercenary on my Vita online for the first time in a while (after playing a lot of MC5 over the past couple of weeks) and it's incredible how much more fun a multiplayer FPS can be when it doesn't feel like 75% of your kills and deaths were totally bullshit and random. Having a 99% stable fps and no major lag issues sure does help as well and it's nice when almost every weapon feels like a viable option. Best of all, there aren't any hackers and the weapons are for the most part balanced, with only a handful of guns being underpowered or hard to use. You won't get unreasonable ammounts of rocket launcher spam here.
I don't really know why you keep comparing a 7 dollar, 1.8gb, smart phone game to a 35 dollar (amazon standard price subject to variation with sales), 4.5gb, dedicated mobile gaming device game. The comparison doesn't quite hold up as a balanced one.
By your logic we'd never be allowed to complain about stuff in free games because they are free. Just because it's a 7$ mobile game doesn't mean we can't be disappointed with it. The fact is that in it's current state Modern Combat 5 has a lot of problems and it being a 7$ mobile game doesn't change that. At all. I mean, if you want I could list a whole bunch of other things that KZM does better than MC5 (some things subjective, some objective), but many of those would really not be possible with a smaller budget and lower file-size limits.
Do you realize your posts basically amount to that kid on the school bus who would perpetually butt in to your conversations about Sonic just to argue that Nintendo was better than Sega just because he liked arguing and had nothing else to talk about other than how great the Super Nintendo was and how wrong everything everyone else thinks is?
No, I'm afraid you're understanding of my logic has failed there. I never said you could not complain. You can spend all day long sitting there complaining if you wish. You can be as disappointed as you want to be and you can feel perfectly free to express that disappointment all you want. It will make no difference because if you'll notice, I haven't jump in to defend the game or any other complaints levelled at it. I would actually agree with many of them. However, when you make comparisons, at least try and make them valid comparisons. It's like reading about someone complaining that their Ford Fiesta is not as fast as their Ferrari Enzo. It is quite simply not a like for like comparison and it holds no validity. You're complaints would actually have more bearing, validity and weight if you stuck to actually comparable comparisons. But continue away as you've been doing since the upcoming thread for the game and make these "comparisons" and let's see how much impact they have.
Well if you think that MC5 has or had a reasonable spawnsystem (by the looks of it the android version hasn't recieved the latest update yet, so I have no idea if or how much that has improved), that it's totally ok for people to be able to win a match by shooting their rocketlauncher at their feet, killing the enemy infront of them but not themselves and that it makes sense that your tier 1 grenade launcher only sometimes kills enemies if you're lucky enough to directly hit someone in the upper body, but that guy with the tier 5 grenade launcher can just shoot at anything in the same room as you and you'll die and that it isn't a problem when you get shot through the walls you tried to hide behind because of lag, then good for you. What I was saying was that it turns out that I find games that don't have all these problems a lot more enjoyable and don't see it as unreasonable for a 7$ mobile game to not have them.
Good to see you stuck with it. The number of TA users playing MC5 seems to have plummeted lately. Anyway, it's really hard to resist the urge to dive right back into MP, but man those low tier weapons just suck. Stick with Chapter 2, level 2 of Awakening (Raiders) to rack up points to get those high tier weapons quicker. Good luck, man.
Complaining about a pure free game seems a bit silly, to be honest. Making valid, reasonable complaints makes a lot of sense. Making invalid, unreasonable comparisons to games that cost 5 times as much and are played on dedicated gaming platforms doesn't make much sense.
By complaining I meant something more along the lines of "I would like to see X/Y/Z about this game improved, because it ruins what could be a much better game." rather than "This is shit. Delete.". And I do believe I wasn't asking for the most amazing graphics ever, with some of the most well known voice actors whispering well-written dialogue by a famous writer into my ear over the sweet music composed by one of the most highly regarded video-game soundtrack composers and played by a symphony orchestra. But FFS, why doesn't this run at a constant 30 fps (and why is it locked to 30 fps in the fist place) on my tegra K1? Why does it crash every 20 minutes or less? What's up with that?
Yeah we understand that, but we don't understand the comparison to the vita. I'm sure if you didnt draw the comparison while stating the obvious you wouldn't have been tackled. You couldve just stated the obvious But yeah the issues should definitely be fixed (frame drops, spawns, etc)
Well it happened to be a game that I just played that doesn't have these issues, what's wrong with menitioning it? Infact... I technically never made a direct comparison to KZM today.
There's just no way to fix this game. High ranked people will always have a brutal advantage over low ranked people thanks to NO balance at all (tiers of weapons, attachments without any downsides, the way you upgrade your character...), and obviously there's no way they are going to fix all that. To this day I still regret getting this with GE because I can't ask for a refund. What a waste of credits.
Yeah but it was still within range of the topic. I know exactly where you're coming from and I have no issue with it at all. Those are completely valid points. The frame stutters and spawns and every other issue should be addressed. I'm just saying, you're getting tackled because you mentioned the vita & KZM and compared it to MC5 on iOS (in some fashion). Thats a big no no, in these threads, if you hadn't noticed lol
Thanks! unfortunatety, nothing similar on iOS... Oh yeah, I tried one MP match and quickly understood I need a better weapon if I want to be able to a least move a few inches before getting raped LOL! I'll check the level you mentioned but I think I'll finish the story first and try to get all gold stars (some oft hese will be really hard to get). If then I've not maxed out at least one class I suppose I'll have to rack up points in a repetitive mission... Re: debate about criticizing, I feel these are all valid points that Der-Kleine is making. He's not compared the graphics, or complexity of he gameplay, size of maps, etc., at all which would be the only unfair comparison. Gameplay, lags, weapon system, spawn system , handling are all fair game in this comparison. If GL made the game too demanding for mobile devices hence making it lag it just means they did a bad job optimizing it. MC4 was much better on all acounts.
Where's the real updates? Like maybe a new map? Games been out for roughly 2 months. Don't know how long it would take to put a map together but is it asking too much to throw us a new map every couple of months? Apparently it is. Really enjoyed this game for the last month and a half or so but recently deleted it as playing the same 4 maps over and over is just plain boring.
