IM really sorry to hear that i am now afraid to update my game i really dont want to lose my progess Has anyone else lost their progress? This is a truly disgusting act by gameloft that someone who updates the game just loses everything just like that. You ppl at gameloft better fix this guys mc5 account
Just loaded it up to check, and I have still got my save data. Eternal will have have to confirm but his lose may not be related to the update.
Can't play this! It just tells me to update but nothing happens! Just takes me to the App Store. So what do I do now?!!!
This may be a stupid question but, have you checked to see if the update is there to install?? Otherwise; delete/install, or reboot device or something...
Oh yeah that's going to suck donkey balls if I have to go through this again. The only way I'll get through it is to think it's like MC4 when you started from scratch after reaching level 50. Losing the top tier guns is gonna suck. Well, I'd rather have them work on fixing bugs rather than deliver new content. Unfortunately I don't know whether the game updated before the bug happened but it can't be a coincidence that the day the app is updated my game save vanishes. The way this happened is as follows: * I was playing MP after midnight (on Sep 1st, the day of the update). Start MP match and there was this weird bug where I couldn't select Recon. I get killed once while trying to figure out what's going on and decide to exit the MP game. *See with horror that my score as been cut almost in half from 1820 something to 996. I did not realize at first that 996 is the score you have when you install the game and I thought the points system just crapped out. I mean getting shot one time and having your score cut in half is harsh. *I decide I can live with Gameloft messing with my score and start a new MP match. Same bug. Unable to choose Recon. I'm starting to think something's really wrong and I decide to exit the game and clear it from the multitasker (using iOS). *Start MC5 again, everything is gone. *Try a variety of re-installs, reboots, signing in and out of Game Center, try same steps on my iPod Touch to see if it's just my iPad going crazy to no avail. *Take a shot of whiskey and go to bed. The weird thing is that now when I re-install the game, Heavy seems to be the default class. The initial mission starts as a Heavy class, when I go to the home screen, Heavy is showing, etc. I don't remember this being the case. Can anyone confirm? Also, all my friends and messages are still there when I re-install the game which makes me believe GL is screwing up with my profile. All my achievements were still in the Game Center before I tried "Removing MC5 from GC" to see if that would fix it. I've sent a message to customer service but the last time I contacted them about being wrongfully kicked out of matches for "suspicious activities", I can't say they were helpful. They just asked for screenshots and detailed description (which I had written in my initial message to GL CS) to "better serve me". When I told them I couldn't really take any helpful screenshots related to the problem, I never heard from them again.
I had all of my data deleted awhile back too. Like you, I had almost 3 classes fully maxed out. Customer service was responsive but couldn't do much. The last message I got was about logging into social media to see if that solved the problem. I hadn't linked my Mc5 account to FB, Twitter, etc., so I just never responded and started from scratch instead. At first I swore I wouldn't, but after the initial pissed off phase wore off it wasn't quite as terrible as expected.
I wonder if I should play MC4 and wait to see whether GL can fix the problem or not. I wouldn't want to overwrite anything if they can recover my save from their servers.
So the spawn points are still horrible. And the more I play, the more I agree the heavy/crumpler combo has to be fixed. Heavies just seem oblivious to the crumpler's one-hit kill explosion even at point blank.
And that's to be expected, after all Heavy's have a huge speed handicap but doing this point blank without committing suicide shouldn't happen. Also the grenade launcher has almost no reload time. I don't know if it's a hack or what but some Heavys launch 3 or 4 of these in a row.
That's made me wonder too, but I've never watched them long enough to see if they fire more than 3 rockets. Sure seems that way sometimes though.
Gameloft latest update talking about how they listen to the feedback. If you listen then why haven't they removed the always connected crap on offline mode
That is not going away. There is no offline mode. Plus the single player is short and doesn't offer any real replay. This game is designed for online multiplayer at it's heart.
I think always-online is the least of the issues that MC5 has right now. I mean how the hell does stuff like this happen?! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
